Awesome! From beginning to end..Teo and his crew were very thorough, informative, prompt , friendly and the list goes on! We love our new Malarkey roof! And, plan to have Yearly maintenance done by Teo, to make sure it stays tiptop shape! They also did some painting for us, and, in near future will be back to do more. Teo Giron did an in depth survey of the roof, taking photos to show us what was needed, and why. His was the first of three bids, and while he was not the least expensive, we chose him because he was very thorough outlining and explaining every item on the bid. Most important, his total was all inclusive. At our request, he reviewed the other bids and pointed out some things: they were both written with "remove one layer of shingles and if more is needed, there was an additional cost is 50.00/hr plus materials." Teo thought there were two layers that needed to come off so that could have potentially cost us much more. Teo and his crew completely replaced our roof in three days. Two of those days were a Saturday and Sunday, and never got above 40 degrees. It rained and sleeted on and off both days. When they finally left, everything was as clean as when they first arrived. Without hesitation we would recommend Giron General Construction to anyone.

Mr. Giron inspected our roof thoroughly, showed pictures of missing shingles, discussed moss and algae issues, explained flashing, materials to be used, process of work, and what would happen if any decking needed replacement. He gave us a detailed bid with product information. The price quoted was reasonable and within the range of this kind of work for this roof. Another company was chosen for a reason that had nothing to do with the quality of the estimate or the presentation for the work. Seemed quite competent and professional and experienced. Would have had no hesitation going with this company, as I felt assured the work and the product would be satisfactory.

Giron Construction was one of four roofing companies in my area rated very good to excellent by Angie?s List that I invited to bid on re-roofing my house and detached garage, a total of 2,300 square feet. All four seemed competent and their bids closely matched for comparable work. I chose one of the competitors. Since I did not select this company, my evaluation is based only on the initial contact with the company, and the salesman/rep?s inspection, conversations, and written bid. Giron?s rep met me at a convenient hour after work and thoroughly examined my 25-year-old roof from outside and in the attic areas. For the house his bid included a tear-off of the house?s one layer of shingles, installation of new plywood over the entire existing tongue-and-groove decking, new underlayment and flashing, installation of Malarkey ?Highlander? 30 year composite shingles, and new side and roof vents. For the garage the bid included shingling over the existing roof except at the peak where a ridge vent would be installed, at my request. Giron?s bid was the only one that included complete new wood decking for the house, which I judge would have added structural strength to the roof and provide superior underlayment for the shingles. The rep was very knowledgeable and answered questions to my satisfaction. After we discussed work and materials he prepared a handwritten estimate that included my choice of shingles and a general description of the work on a pre-printed form that included additional details of the work and payment terms. I was disappointed to find several misspellings and poor organization in the pre-printed text.

A really friendly guy with a very efficient crew. I would highly recommend Theo to anyone looking for a roofer.

The provider came out and said my roof was greater than a 6/12 pitch. I have chosen to refund from Angie’s List. He did show up on time and was professional. I asked for an estimate for an entire new roof.

Both times, he was punctual, professional, and communicated with us by email. He provided photos of the before and after on the gutters, as well as the gutter work in progress. I think the value was quite good--we've paid a lot more to other roof people for work that was not as thorough. I definitely plan to use this company again.

Highly professional, quality minded. Compared their work with similar roofs put on houses in our neighborhood. Workmanship seemed to be better. Roofing was more uniformly attached.

The crew was on time, the materials as specified and the clean-up was exceptional. The owner was frequently on-scene directing the workers who were most courteous. I couldn't recommend the company more highly. Outstanding.

We found Giron (worked with Teo) to be flexible, knowledgeable, and honest. The crews came on the dates and times agreed upon. The crew worked hard while they were on site, and cleaned up nicely before they left. They were exceptionally friendly, informative, and polite. They took the time to correct some problems that we were not aware of. After completion of the job, the manager asked us to do a walk-around, (which we think is an indicator of the pride a company takes in their work). The roof and gutters look great. Finally, the price was right!

I am giving Giron a B because of the poor communication and response at times. I had another company remove the large Hawthorne tree limb that fell on my house at the beginning of October. I then asked for estimates from 9 companies to repair the damage that it did to a section of my gutter and the edge of a section of my flat roof over my laundry room. Giron responded quickly to the estimate request and I was satisfied with the estimate. It was about in the mid range of the rest of the estimates, but within the estimate from the claims adjuster. When I decided to go with them, I had a day scheduled for them to do the work. Even though I need not be present, I took the day off of work. It was raining on the day that it was scheduled. No one called to tell me that the work was being postponed. I had to finally call them late morning to ask why they hadn't shown up. The work was rescheduled on another day, 2 days later, weather permitting. I had to work on that day and was called in the late afternoon to say that the work was completed. They emailed me 2 pictures of the completed work since I could not see the top of the roof. They replaced the roof material with something for flat roofs, and the section of gutter. I was to meet someone at my house the next day after work to pay my bill. I left work early to meet this person on time and he did not show up. Again, a phone call would have been the courteous thing to do. I decided to bring the check to the place of business at the address printed on their business card, at the top of their estimate, and the one listed here on Angies List. When I went there I discovered it is now a bank and, from a bank teller and another bank employee, was told that they have not been at that address for years. When I called the office phone I was told by their receptionist that she actually works out of her home for Giron. Arrangements were made to leave the check under my doormat and when I came home one day it was gone. The check has cleared. I had emailed them to ask for an itemized, detailed invoice to show to my insurance company and I have never received it. The work done appears to be good as far as I can tell.

It was a relatively small job, but they came out right away, gave us an estimate. They were very knowledgable and made a few suggestions that made the drainage work even better. I was very impressed. They came out less than a week later and completed the job for us. It looks and works great, and they left no mess.

We loved working with Giron's. They were professional and very easy to work with. A problem occurred after install on a rainy and they immediately figured out the problem and fixed it (not a problem they had done). Excellent company!! (and we are PICKY). Our house is in Newberg, so we were delighted that this Portland-based company was so willing to do work out here for us. Thanks, guys!

They were a very good company to deal with and were very pleasant. They replaced our entire roof, three skylights, and some plywood on the roof. Their work was top notch, and they made sure to get everything done to our satisfaction. They also came in with a bid lower than all the others. I also liked the fact that the shingles are made locally in Vancouver.

All went well. The big issue was my finally getting the financing figured out early in September which meant that we were up against the rain for getting the work done, so it took work over a series of days. All was done before the big rain hit. They came out after the rain and cleaned my gutters out and installed a new downspout on one edge of a long section of roof to prevent future issues with drainage. And they give an Angie's List 10% discount, too. I've had complements on the roof and the job done from my neighbors.

Weather became a problem with the late September storms, but the crew worked whenever they could. They worked hard and battled through the elements at times and finished up as the weather allowed. The clean-up was very good. All the old roof was hauled away along with other remnants, packaging, etc. They used a magnet to pick up any nails or other metal objects but still missed too many as I found 75-80 roofing nails in my yard and even 5 or 6 in my driveway. Also missed a few pieces of the former roof material as well as using a blower to clean up around the outside of the house. So the clean up could have been better. I suggest you deal directly with the owner, Teo Giron, as he gets right to the point and explains all aspects of the job. He also did my son's roof who recommended him highly.

Teo was the person that bid the job. The crew worked 10 hours the first day, about 5 hours the second day. They were very professional and constantly cleaning up. They moved and covered anything that might be damaged by the shingles that were being removed. At the end of the job; everything was put back. On the third day Pete came to pick up the balance that was owed on the contract. After giving him the check, someone from the company arrived and did more work on the roof. I was very impressed that there was still work to be completed after they had been paid. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a company that is honest and will care for your home like it was their own.

He was very nice. Unfortunately we had been misinformed about the actual square footage of our roof and did not qualify for the deal.

You hear horror stories about contractors never getting back to you...this was NOT the case with this company. In the middle of replacing our roof an unexpected, (unforecasted) rain shower occurred at 1am. After calling Teo and leaving a voice message, I received a text message right back saying he was on his way and would be there within a few minutes. He not only showed up in a few minutes, the next thing we knew there were three truck with his crew at our house. Within 15 minutes of my call there were eight guys with flashlights on our roof tarping it. Because of their quick response there was no damage. I'm not one to write reviews, but this company has gone way above and beyond and has exceeded all my expectations. I give Giron General 9Construction two thumbs UP on their customer service, quality of their work, and competitive pricing.

He had a change in schedule and called with a request to come out earlier than originally scheduled, which worked out well. Kevin was knowledgeable, well organized and responded later that day by email with a bid. Giron was a close second choice with the deciding factor being comparison on Consumer Reports of their preferred supplier (manufacturer). What I liked about Giron was their commitment to Green processes and recycling.
