First American Title Co

Right from the begging we had problems and I should have been concerned, but due to the easy nature of the paperwork I continued working with them. Understand this is a LARGE firm and they are all interconnected, so my review is for every branch in the portland area. Basically this is a cut and paste operation that charges you money. The software designed today easily plugged in your information regarding survey, existing tax lot and other requirements. Not a difficult thing , however after weeks of back and fourth. Phone calls and emails, including THE COUNTY SURVEYORS OFFICES, they just couldn't get the job done. My representative insisted she needed a email from a new survey company, so she could cut and paste into the title description. Are you kidding me , survey has been done before multiple times since 1890. Done and done again. Read the one I set you from 5 years ago, complete the paperwork and do your job. Don't use this company, they only succeed because the volume is high and customers are not knowledgeable. I found another company to do the job for less money and completed it in 2 HOURS!!!! Another national company

Lisa at First American Title was beyond helpful.  She must have responded to 60 emails from me (getting back to me within minutes usually).  She walked me through the whole process and answered all of my many questions.
She assisted me in preparing our documents so I didn't have to pay a lawyer to create the docs for me.
I will definitely be using First American Title for my next home purchase.

The lady over there really took the time to explain things to us. Then we forgot to sign a piece of paper. We didn’t sign everything. So, she met us instead of having us to go back to the office to do that. She explained all the pieces of paper. She either cared or she at least pretended to care that we were doing business with her company. When we bought our house the first time, the other person wasn’t like that. So, we felt that the lady with First American Title Co was better in explaining things and taking the time. We went past our appointment and she didn’t kick us out. I don’t know about the pricing. We did have some problems with the mortgaging. When it comes to the responsiveness, she came to the restaurant. We had to wait a little bit, but it wasn’t for a long time. If needed, I would definitely go back to her.
