Chris came out to do the initial assessment. I had been reading about crawlspace treatments, so I had questions about encapsulation and 16 mil vapor barrier. Rather than upselling, he told me that; 1. The insulation I had was hanging down all over the place, meaning it wasn't accomplishing anything, so he recommended removing it. He said that replacing it wouldn't help much and would not be cost effective. 2. Since I had no water issues the 16 mil vapor barrier wouldn't be of any value to me and the standard 6 mil material would do just fine for about $1000 less. I had asked for the right solution, not the cheapest, so I very much appreciate his recommendations. The actual job went off as scheduled with no problems. They sent me pictures, which was great, since I don't ever intend to go under there again. I also had a number of interactions with the office manager, Julie, and found her to be pleasant and responsive every time.

The job was done quickly and efficiently as promised. I especially liked responses to all questions I asked about the details of the installation and cost. They were thorough and to the point. There was a slight mixup on scheduling: however it was minor and did not impact the work schedule.

So happy with this Company! They are the best!! Michael and his team replaced the vapor barrier in our crawlspace and cleaned it up as we had some rodent issues previously. They were all super friendly, super knowledgeable. They were on time, really polite and careful to keep my house super clean and even though my dog was pretty annoying barking they were always sweet and petting her. Michael was really honest when telling me what i needed for my crawlspace and what i actually did not need. Their bid was extremely competitive. I will definitely hire them for my next project!

Upon calling for an appointment, we made arrangements for their tech to arrive within a week. After Mike inspected my crawlspace, he gave me great news: crawlspace looked ok and needed to dry a bit more. He stated that since the water originated from the neighbor's plumbing problem, our crawlspace just needed to dry out. After asking if we needed to replace the vapor barrier and other crawl space items, he stated it was not necessary. If I really wanted to replace the vapor barrier, then he would sell it to me--again, he stated it was not necessary. I like the fact he provided honest feedback. I would call this company again.

Well it went. The crew was less than organized. There were lots and lots of wasted time such as returning 3 times in one morning to store for parts. These trips were approx. 1 + hour each and the few workers left behind did a lot of standing around waiting. BUT they did get the work done and when the system started leaking on the first day and the venting fell loose from the dehumidifier they sent people right out to fix. And they did. And looking inside the crawlspace the job is neat, orderly and well done. So understanding the work ethic and knowing how well the job was done, I would hire again.

"Thank you Ms. [Member Name Removed] for your review. I am sorry you had to deal with some disorganization, we have addressed the problems that day and know that wasted time and extra trips are not acceptable. Thank you for the review and we are glad your crawlspace is clean and dry now!"

I've posted a previous review wherein I gave this company a B without having all the facts. I couldn't see where I could remove the previous review so I created this new one. They worked on my rental property so I was relying on communication from the company and my tenant and could not get a clear understanding of what occurred. They called me yesterday to explain and I informed them I would be happy to change my review. While they are not the most personable people, they remained professional through an ordeal that would have tested many people's patience. The true quality of the work will be revealed with the first heavy Oregon rains but they have assured me they will go back to fix any possible errors, free of charge.

There were a few issues at first but the company was very responsive and fixed the issues at no additional cost to me. To be fair some of the problems were caused by the electrician that I hired independent from Dr. Crawlspace. Although the initial sump pump failure was caused due to a minor training error, the subsequent sump pump failure was an electrician error. The company was very flexible in terms of scheduling and arrived on time. I feel like the price for their services was very fair and would hire them again. They even sent me a gift card for the inconvenience.

Fairly well. It took several calls and days for someone to go back to pick up a large pile of gravel left at the side of driveway. Cannot truly determine if service performed fixed the water intrusion issue until we get heavy rains again, thus, no quality rating. They are slightly lacking in professionalism in some areas but they are priced reasonably and very friendly. They got the job done quicker than expected and if not for a few things I had to make multiple calls to the office to correct, I'd have rated them higher
Response from Dr. Crawlspace, LLC
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for the review, we appreciate the B grade, but of course always strive for an A. The gravel that was in your rental driveway was not ours (We have samples and photos at the office) , we didn't have it delivered or use it, it appeared there the day after we completed the work, your tenant called and said we left gravel, but have photos from our crew of a clean driveway, which meant is was delivered or dumped there after our work was complete. Regardless of this, we paid our staff to come remove the gravel at no charge. There were also calls to our office because we pulled our crews out one day due to the tenant of the home calling one of our employees a racist and inappropriate name. At [Member Information Removed] Crawlspace, we value our employees and do everything possible to ensure that they are respectful, honest and helpful, and we expect that they will be treated the same [Member Information Removed] in return. We had to make crew adjustments and deal with the situation which created extra phone calls and time on our part to restructure a crew that would feel comfortable at this job site."

Dr. Crawlspace performed all of the work on time and as described. My wife and I were very pleased with the work that they did. At one point they were a little behind on their schedule, so on their own accord they sent more employees to out house to finish the project on time. The encapsulation went very well, so we hired them to put a French drain in our front yard. Dr. Crawlspace was easy to work with and very professional.

Not well. First visit the installation crew forgot to glue the pipes from sump pump to outside drain pipe so they separated and the pump was just recirculating the water into the space pumping onto the newly installed vapor barrier. That was fixed and then the electrician that I hired to install an outlet in the crawl space for the pump (my decision to use my own electrician rather the one provided by the company at considerable savings) did not secure the plug and the system failed to drain again. Luckily I had asked the crawl space folks to return because the vapor barrier was separating from the foundation wall. The owner of the company came out, discovered the plug issue, picked up the vapor barrier to dump the water into the drain areas on the margins of the foundation, but there was still mud and some water on the plastic. The owner said that if I wanted to replace the vapor barrier, it would be at my expense. Since it is a rental unit and it will eventually dry out now that the sump pump is actually working properly, I have left it as is.
Response from Dr. Crawlspace, LLC
"[Member Name Removed], We offer our most sincere apology. Sometimes mistakes happen, we wish they never did. We did send the owner out to remedy the problem as soon as we heard about it. We can't warranty work other contractors work. If the damage to the vapor barrier was due to the plumbing mistake made by our crew and then fixed, we would replace the vapor barrier, if it was due to flooding because a sump pump was unplugged or never plugged in once electricity was installed, we unfortunately can't be responsible for this. I am more than happy to discuss with you any further work we should be responsible for to make your experience more pleasant. You can email me directly at [Removed Hyperlink] to further this conversation, nothing is more important than for our customers to be happy, and if there is anything I can do to earn an A from you, I would do my best to make that happen for you! Thank you! Laura"

There was a mix-up on the insulation -- wrong type was ordered. But rather than charge for the upgrade, they gave us the better insulation at no charge. And all the workers involved were very friendly and overall did a great job. The reason for the lower grade on responsiveness is that when cleaning out the space, they didn't clean the foundation footings, so there is still a bunch of rat poop down there. We've called and asked for them to come out and remedy that but apparently that is not a high priority.
Response from Dr. Crawlspace, LLC
"[Member Name Removed], I will look into why nobody has been out to finish cleaning up the areas missed. This is never acceptable, but sometimes happens. I will check with the supervisor on Monday and we will get someone out there. Thank you! Laura"

We just purchased a home (built 1982 in Salem) and one of its issues was the crawlspace and its drainage. It definitely needed a new vapor barrier, a good cleaning, a few vent repairs and possibly some retrenching and we needed someone to tell us if anything else needed to be addressed. Dr. Crawlspace was the fourth and last estimate we got – and we are SO glad we called them! Their estimator, Chris, arrived on time for his inspection appointment and took his time inspecting and photographing our entire crawlspace. He was extremely professional, friendly and detailed when explaining his recommendations for our crawlspace, using the pictures he had taken. While other companies wanted to install their own drainage systems, Chris explained that our drainage system, while not the best and below the standard of the system they install, would do its job for several more years and that he would recommend simply cleaning the space, putting in a new vapor barrier and repairing the damaged vents. This ended up saving us thousands of dollars. He also recommended adding a high-water alarm, in case the sump failed – a great suggestion, which we followed. Chris gave us a detailed, written estimate on the spot, then kept in touch with us the next day as we asked some follow-up questions – communication was good and we never felt like an afterthought or a bother. A little more than a week later, their five-person work crew arrived as scheduled at 8 a.m., introduced themselves (Jeff, JT, Nick, etc.), reviewed with us the work they planned for the day, per our estimate/proposal, put on their work uniforms, goggles, etc., and disappeared into our crawlspace. After a few hours, JT came out and gave us a progress report, asking if we had any questions, then went back to work with the rest of his crew – who, by the way, sang throughout the day in our crawlspace! They finished about 5:30 p.m. JT took before and after pictures, which office manager April sent us, along with our final bill (very reasonable), within a couple of days. Each staff member's interactions with us inspired confidence that they all knew their jobs and took pride in their work. This was one of the best home repair experiences we have ever had, from start to finish.

We have lived in our home in Fairview, OR for about ten years and recently I have become concerned that there may be issues with the crawlspace.  I am unable to go down there myself so I went online and found Dr. Crawlspace.  I called him and was able to make an appoint about a week out.
A young man named Craig (I am not sure of the name) arrived at the time agreed to.  He was very personable and professional in everything he did.  He was here for about an hour with 40 minutes of that time spent in the crawlspace.  When he emerged, he announced that everything was in good shape.  He told me of a few minor issues but said nothing really needs attention at this time!  That was music to my ears but the best was yet to come.  I asked him what I owed and he said that the routine inspection that he just finished was free!
I would strongly urge anyone concerned about the condition of their crawlspace to contact them.

Response from Dr. Crawlspace, LLC
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for letting us and others know about your experience! We don't always have good news, but we are as happy when we do as you are! We urge all to have their crawl spaces checked, for the health of their home and the people living inside! Up to 40% of the air you breathe comes from the crawl space, so it's important to make sure there is nothing down there that could make you sick, like mold, mildew or pest feces. Thank you again for your comments! Laura"

Showed up more-or-less on time (individual units in Kelly Creek Condos can be difficult to locate as GPS gets one only in the vicinity).  Took off his street shoes to protect my hardwood floors.  Laid down a protective cloth on the carpet where the entry is to the crawlspace (in the master bedroom closet), suited up with protective gear just in case and proceeded into the crawlspace.  Took numerous pictures of the conditions and shared those with me.  Said my crawlspace was in excellent condition and did not need any of his services.  Pointed out a small leak from a bolt in one wall that could be sealed with spray foam (he offered to do it, but I didn't have any spray foam), a small crack in the foundation, and evidence where a support post had gotten wet in the past but that it was now protected.  Saw no signs of rodent damage and no signs of moisture other than the small leak.  Said I had plenty of covering on the ground, multiple layers of plastic sheeting.  Prepared a map of my crawlspace area and showed me on the map and in photos what he found and where he found it.  Gave me peace of mind that I have one less part of my condo I need to be concerned with, at least for now.
