CUSTOM CABINETS BY DON

Custom Cabinets by Don, Inc. was founded by Don and Leona McDonald in 1969 as a custom face-frame manufacturer. The cabinetry business goes back four generations in the family and two generations in the manufacturing business. Don bought the cabinet end of the business from his previous employer a home builder whom he worked for eleven years. In 1969 Don and Leona ran the business in the same building on 99th and Oak. After 18 months the business grew beyond its walls and had to move across the street in a warehouse. Two and half years later it grew again beyond its warehouse walls on Oak, and moved to a facility in Troutdale. The new building was double the size of the facility on Oak. In 1978, they started the construction of our present building. Five years later they would double the floor plan to 14,000 sq. ft. Our first European-style cabinet was developed in the late 1970's. By 1982 we were producing and shipping a true 32mm European cabinet throughout the Northwest. At that time, we adopted the marketing name of Euro-American Design. Our market has expanded to cover the entire West-Coast, Hawaii, Alaska, and Japan. Our company is built on satisfied customers, and has been growing ever since due to customer loyalty and referrals.
