CompRite - Computer & Laptop Repair Service

I took my Macbook pro (2017) to Paul in September of 2024 to be diagnosed and fixed. He replaced the motherboard and upgraded the memory from 512GB to 1 Terabyte. To no fault of the store, the computer had ongoing issues. I took it back to Paul in May and he stood behind his warranty and ended up replacing the battery and broken cable. Paul waived all expenses ($400+) including the labor.

Paul is a very nice person however I took my laptop in because it was having trouble charging and I explained to them then that I am a student who is disabled and I rely on my laptop. It has been almost 2 weeks now and I still have not gotten my laptop back and now I have missed midterms. There was no communication unless I called. I was never offered a loaner or anything. I am very bothered by this because now my grades will go down.

So I went in to go get my laptop fixed and they somehow convinced me to trade it in for a prebuilt they would make, I got the prebuilt and it only works for a couple of months before dying and never turned on again. This place is awful and I want my laptop back.

I came in with a broken proprietary power cord for which I could find no replacement anywhere. Every other shop told me (quite reasonably) that there was no solution, and I'd simply have to wait the week or so for my ISP technician to come to my home. But it's a good thing I tried CompRite! Paul and Rob did the unthinkable: they repaired the cord itself! What's more, because it was, in their words, "a minor task, we do this all the time", they did it free of charge! Doing business with CompRite was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end. I did not think this kind of shop exited anymore, and I am happy to direct anybody to this shop.

Comprite is a wonderful juxtaposition of excellent technical knowledge with friendly, honest and real customer care. Paul will meet you at the door and talk to you one on one until he understands exactly what you need, then the work goes to his excellent technicians who will work miracles for you, or do more mundane things like repalcing a smartphone screen. Paul and his team went above and beyond for me when my phone stopped charging- locking away some very important data. When I explained how important this work was for me, Paul did everything to get my data back. It wasn't easy and we had to try a number of approaches but I got my data recovered AND my phone restored for way way less than replacing my phone. The work was quite affordable. These guys are great to do business with and are just great people. They do great work at a great price and they'll treat you real nice! One more great thing about Comprite is that Paul has a great memory for people. I've had work done at Comprite 3 times over the course of about 6 years and each time I come back in, Paul immediately recognizes me and remembers the work they did for me. The guy really cares about his customers.

Paul, the owner runs a great shop! They were able to to sell me a new charging block for my laptop, but was honest about being able to repair the one I had. They saved me $69! Highly recommend.

Paul, the owner, is always so friendly and helpful when I go in. I have a little older Macbook Pro and he keeps it humming for me. The most recent issue was that it keep slowing down and couldn't get anything done. In a matter of a couple of hours his tech find the problem (overheating from lack of ventilation) and fixed it for a very reasonable price. I have used CompRite for years and highly recommend them for computer and smartphone repair.

simple job hard to mess up. too expensive. Found a coupon the next week that would have save me $40 That's about 30% of the cost of the job. That means the regular prices are marked up too high to cover the discount. Computer repair is not an optional purchase and should not be marketed like furniture.

Excellent. My 2009 Toshiba now works like new, and faster.

My son has been saving money for an iPhone. When we went into CompRite Clackamas, the friendly guys there went way above and beyond to make it possible for him to purchase a phone that he liked for the amount of money that he had to spend. They gave him a case, screen protector, warranty and charging block all for no charge. Very happy son = happy mom!

I have been here mulitple times within the span of a couple of years. Each time the employees are attentive and reliable, as well as recongnize me from my previous visits. I have gotten four phones fixed with them in total, and all of them I have recieved back in perfect condition as well as done so at a reasonable price. This is the only place that I intend on coming to for repairs, the service is quick, easy and most of all reliable.

Big shout out to Paul and his crew. They gave me the option of fixing my ancient computer or upgrading to a newer one, i chose the later. They were very thorough in explaining to me in layman terms so I could understand. Paul,Carl and tech went above and beyond to make sure I was pleased and ready as a novice could be on a new computer. I got such a killer deal and they have life time support I bought a laptop as well. BTW did I tell you they retrieved all my data off my old computer and set my new one up for me to easily use.Now I have a lightning fast computer with a good anti virus and backup It takes a little longer because they give everyone quality service, just be patient you won't be sorry I would recommend these upstanding people for all electronic needs and certainly will be a repeat customer.

I wouldn't even recommend anyone walk pass this shop. The service or lack thereof is sketchy, unreliable, and not worth the pain and hassle of dealing with the staff. I am pretty certain I overpaid greatly for the run around, lack of follow through and insufficient repairs. Initially, I went here because my laptop would not turn on or if it did, it would present a blue screen or would not make it past the start up screen. I found this place on this site and decided to take a chance since there were good reviews and it was close to home. My issues started the moment i walked in. When you walk in, it is like a hospital waiting room. People are just standing around pensive. Waiting and more waiting. After some time, the guy working the front desk FINALLY acknowledges me. I explain the issue and he goes to get Pail. When Paul came out I explained my issue. He said he'd take in the back to have a technician diagnose it. He's gone no less than 5 minutes and says the cost to fix it is $289!!! That's where I became suspicious of their business practices. I asked what the cost includes since they advertise $129 flat fee to fix laptops. He starts saying that the cost includes the hard drive, which is apparently broken, labor, and data recovery. He couldn't truly define all the cost, but insured it was cheaper than going to Best But since the drive itself would cost more than $200. This, I later found out on a subsequent visit, is not true since he gets the drives at cost, less than $100. Then came more misinformation and lack of follow through and inability to meet stated timeframes. Paul promised my laptop would take a few hours to fix. It would be ready the next day he said. They would call me. Well, they didn't call me. Concerned, I called them for an update. He said the laptop was not quite ready. It would take another day, but definitely ready by 4pm the next day. I arrived the next day to find it still wasn't ready. I was told it would take a little longer to run updates but it would be ready in an hour. When I arrived two hours later, it still wasn't ready and HAD NO DATA. They hadn't even tried to transfer the data. I expressed my dissatisfaction and got a song and dance about what calls his team was duooised to make to give me updates...which never came...and how it was all a misunderstanding. He refunded 1/2 the 289 and said they would keep working on the data. Took the laptop and realized they didn't install the keypad mouse drivers. Took the laptop back...another two days of no calls, except by me to get updates. Promises to get results, yet none. I still have a laptop with no keyboard mouse functionality and a hard drive that I cannot transfer the data from unless I pay another company an aborbadant fees. Paul makes a lot of promises that his staff can't seem to bring to fruition. Extremely annoying and aggravating and time-wasteful experience. I'm disheartened and disgusted.

I have been going to CompRite for a few years now. They are so wonderful! They remember who I am and always take care of my tech problems. They take pride in the work that they do and it shows. Great customer service! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

We dropped the phone off.  Hours later we called to see if we should come in and pick it up or leave it over night.  We were told to come in.  We waited over an hour and nobody talked to us.  We left.  Manager called me and apologized.  He knocked $20 off bill as goodwill gesture.  I was impressed.  Nice guy.  But noticed that my fiance phone (same model of phone as mine) always got at least one more bar of reception than me.  From that day forward, after they "fixed" my phone, I get more dropped calls and am more often unable to place calls.  No network found it says, while my fiances phone has no trouble.  I suspect they did something, broke something, overlooked something.  Anyway, bottom line, NICE people.  BUT they ruined my phone.

A couple of years ago, these guys repaired my gaming computer and it's still going strong, so I went back to them when I needed another computer to run an industrial application. They set me up with a great desktop that a had parallel port and the operating system I needed.  Super friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I will use them again for any computer repair services and would definitely recommend them. A+

This is a great store. The people who work here are wonderful! 

I went in to buy an external hard drive and a new screen cover for my iphone 6 (the one I had was bubbling up in places).

The first guy came to assist me immediately, first he explained which screen cover was best and why and gave me a great price on it. They placed it for me and my iphone looks 1,000 times better, just beautiful and so easy to read.

I asked about an external hard drive and would it be easy to figure out how to install it on my PC?  The next guy (possibly the owner) explained it to me and said he would have the technician come out and show me how to install it on one of the computers they had set up in the store.  He gave me a great price on the external hard drive and right away the technician came out to demonstrate how to do it. 

Everyone was wonderful there, so nice!

I took the hard drive home and with the demo the technician gave me, I was able to easily use it to back up my computer.

I can't say enough nice things about this place, I highly recommend them !!!

They made it worse and caused other problems that we had to have repaired.  Don't take your computer to comprite,

I was not happy with their service. I was very dissatisfied with their service. They were supposed to do a service that they didn't complete on it. They didn't offer me the same price they originally offered. They took longer than they anticipated. I would never use them again. It was originally supposed to cost $109 and it ending up costing me an additional $59. They offered a coupon online so I actually paid $110 but it was valued at $170. They wiped my memory clean. It was a total nightmare.

Great. Flat fee laptop repair, plus DC jack part. Even cleaned the computer screen and keyboard for no extra charge. 60 day warranty for the part. The guy was upfront and realistic about the turnaround time. Provided me a business card with the work order number, and called when the work was done. When I came by to pick up the laptop, the guy made sure to show me that the jack was working, not just running on batteries. Overall I am pleased with the result.
