All My Sons Moving & Storage

I booked with All My Sons (AMS) Moving to move a very heavy piece of commercial workout equipment. It was a fiasco at every single level. 1. Booking agent gave us a confirmed date for Sunday, saying there was no minimum booking time and I would be billed hourly. 2. AMS called on Saturday to confirm for Monday, which was incorrect. They said they did not have a truck for Sunday and that there would be a 5 hour minimum for a Sunday move. 3. I rearranged my schedule and confirmed for Wed. I was VERY CLEAR that the piece of equipment weighed 1,000 lbs and that it would need a truck with a lift gate and I was told I would need 3 movers for an item this large. 4. I spoke with the movers on the day of the move and said the unit HAD to be moved in an upright position, or risk bending the guidebars for the weights. This was an $8000 piece of equipment. It took the movers over an hour to load the item (I was not present at the place for pick up). 5. When they arrived to my house with the item, it was laying on its back, despite me being VERY CLEAR it had to be shipped upright. 6. The 3 movers took 90 minutes to off-load the item and I spent 20 minutes on the phone with their dispatcher asking why they sent a truck without a liftgate and why they moved the item on its back when I was clear it should be upright. 7. The dispatcher told me it was too late and that I would have to speak to their claims dept for any damages. Too bad for me. I still had to pay even though they did not listen to my instructions on the move. 8. I asked the dispatcher why the movers didn't just say they could NOT move the item and just be honest about what they could/could not do. Now I have potentially months of head aches, claims, etc. 9. AMS is terrible. Avoid at all costs

We arranged with All my sons on June 11th to move on June 30th. We put a $100 deposit on the deal and reserved our spot. On Tuesday June 26th at about 4:15 pm we received a phone call to advise that a truck was broke down and a staff member had health issues. It was suggested that we try to find another moving company. Remember its 4:15 on Tuesday and we were scheduled to move on Saturday. Imagine our success in finding a mover with availability on that kind of notice. They did tell us that they could help us on a later date. Who has that kind of flexibility when your are moving from city to city and job to job? No other options were provided. No help. Nothing. We did get our deposit back. Whoopee! On Wednesday we received a second call from another employee letting us know that our move today would be cancelled. Funny, we are not moving on Wednesday. Oops, someone had the wrong number. Clearly someone one else was a victim on the same game. We had three days notice, This poor sucker had none. As we called around and talked to other moving companies and shared our circumstance, we were told that this was typical for this company. I wish we would have known. We would have never called them in the first place.

We had used this company several years earlier and were happy with them. This time around the estimator was barely coherent. We should have gone elsewhere at that point. The truck was too small and would not fit everything; the estimator assured us the truck would be big enough. Storage costs were double the estimate and labor costs were double. The "itemized" invoice is vague...($1,400.00 for "Misc." related do storage). We know the estimate is an estimate, but we feel like we paid double what we were led to believe. The guys lifting the furniture were great. We should have found someone else.

A friend recommended All My Sons to me so I gave them a try. It was such a great experience. They said they would arrive between 8 and 9 and they did so. The crew that handled it was Doug, David and Ben. They got right to work and worked hard the whole time. They took very good care of our stuff and they worked as quickly and efficiently as possible. The pricing was good, too. I would absolutely recommend this moving company. The only "bad" comment I have is that their main office number has a bad connection so they had to call me back to set up my appointments. Thank you guys for making our move such a positive experience.

ABSOLUTELY LOUSY! These guys are not a professional company to hire! They sent me a note to call their main office out of Oregon after posting a face book review, so I did. I was placed on extended hold 3 times after placing the call, so I don't believe they really cared to hear about the experience.

my husband and I took the day off work weeks in advanced of our scheduled Thursday move. All My Sons called very late in the afternoon (4p) to let us know they were not able to make it and slotted us in first thing Friday. Job took 3 guys, 5.5 hours. They were not careful with everything, our bed frame now has several knicks in the wood.

Their estimator reviewed our stuff and ordered three trucks with 9 guys. Despatch told us they would send two trucks with 6 guys, but only 5 guys arrived. At the receiving end the first truck was unloaded in an hour. Despatch then pulled 3 guys for another job, leaving 2 guys who spoke no English. The second truck took 3 hours to unload, with much of our stuff being put in wrong location because unable to communicate. They then tried to charge us for 6 guys. Some stuff broken, some missing.

Great. That were very professional and quick.

I had previously used this moving company and was very happy with their service... This time the two movers were very slow and lazy... a move that should have cost me $600 cost upward of $1300. Will not use this company again!!!!

They were slow and expensive. Communication was an issue both because of language barrier and lack of communication between the movers. I would give instructions to one of them and they didn't share the instructions among themselves. Large boxes were stacked on top of small boxes. No walkway was left to get through the spaces. Food was buried at the back of the laundry room. Items were left out in the rain. And the list goes on. At the end of the job, I complained that they were overcharging me and was told that the supervisor would call me the next day. He didn't. I went online and filled out their complaint form. I was told I would hear back in 24 hours. I didn't. I emailed the supervisor and received no reply. I even tried to get some money back from the credit card company.

The crew arrived on time and were courteous and professional. They began to work and didn't stop for 12 hours of hard labor and driving. When the job was completed, the main guy worked his magic and got me a killer deal.

We would not use them again.
We were able to make a reservation within a week of the date we needed to move, which we thought was great.  And they did send 3 people and a moving truck like they promised, and they charged us exactly what they said they would.
BUT, the second the guys saw the apartment they started complaining, saying "they told us this is a small move, but this is not a small move" and "it's already late in the day" (it was around 2pm) and other comments that were completely unprofessional.  Not to mention that they immediately asked us if we had water or something to drink; they came unprepared to do the job, even after Andy (with whom we made the reservation over the phone) assured us that they are "professional movers" and "these small moves are what we're best at."  The three guys repeatedly spent time arguing among themselves whose turn it was to go up the stairs versus stand in the truck and organize boxes.  When the apartment was about 80% empty, they kept saying they'd "gotten everything"  and hinting that they didn't want to move anything else.
Once they arrived in the truck at our house, they opened the truck door and we were able to see they had only used a couple of moving pads to protect our furniture.  Every piece of furniture that they moved has some sort of scratch or scuff.  They used flat cardboard boxes between pieces of an expensive desk, and packing tape to hold desk drawers in place.  They didn't use anything to cover the upholstery of our two arm chairs and matching ottomans.
It was an awful experience.

It went quickly and efficiently.

They charged for two full hours and refused to work longer than one hour.  They said they didn't have time to help our daughter re-arrange her storage unit.  All they had time to do was move the bed and dresser to her apartment.   They were there an hour and insisted that we pay them for two hours of labor.   When I called today and asked them to make it right Steve said it was a violation of state law for them to refund my daughter for one hour of time or to come and re-arrange her storage unit.  They said there was absolutely nothing they could do to make this right.   We were required to pay for two hours but only received one hour of work.  We will NEVER use All My Sons Moving and Storage and we have used them many many times in the past.  As far as we are concerned they are dishonest.  It was a hugely disappointing move.

They showed up when they said.  Got right to work.  Moved all my big items and didn't damage anything.  Used blankets on furniture and protection on the wood floors in our new home.  It only took them 4 hours with the 3 man crew.  This is the third time we've used them and each time have been quite happy.

It was terrific. We used them because another lost our reservation and they were quick to respond that we actually were able to move at the same day we called them.

DO NOT USE All My Son's Moving!  I don't even know where to begin, so I am going to keep it short and sweet.  I was in a pinch to get a house moved.  My preferred movers (All Service Moving - USE THEM) were unavailable.  I explained in detail the job.  Was told a 3 man crew and large truck should move my house in a timely manner.  I was surprised at the need for a 3 man crew as a week earlier we had a slightly smaller house moved by All Service Moving (USE THEM) in 6 hours or so with 2 men.  Anyhow, from the time the crew showed up, speaking limited English, they were informing me that they need to call another crew and truck.  And if not they would take long into the night.  And after a certain point in the day they started charging overtime rates.  I balked at that, based upon what I saw a smaller moving crew (All Service Moving - USE THEM) do the week prior.  I just tried to get them fired up to work.  Well, that did not happen.  They were so slow.  Two moved items, again with no urgency, while the other supervised (watched, used his phone).  I had to leave or I would have had a nervous breakdown watching these guys.  My wife stayed and tried to help and encourage these guys.  They did end up taking many more hours than quoted.  My $500+/- anticipated cost ended up well over $1,000.  And they did not even finish the job.  I had to rent a truck the next day to get what they left.  And they tore a large hole in the vinyl flooring moving the washer & dryer.

Bottom line here - Do Not Use All My Son's Moving.
