We replaced an old gas fired furnace with a more efficient model and had a new refrigeration air unit tied into our existing central air in 2006. Nice and warm in winter and with Andy coming out and bringing the refrigeration up to a full 5 pounds a month ago, we have been chilling inside at 72 - 74 degrees during summer days in the high 90s to low 100s. I once burned up a pump/motor thru my own neglect in failing to replace/clean the filter over an extended period of time. Glacier made room in their schedule and Andy had the heat back on that winter. It's comforting to know we can count on being treated like family.

The technician had one and quickly replaced the capacitor. All this took approximately 35 minutes. The cost of the capacitor on the bill was $48. That seemed very high when you can buy them online for $5.50 plus shipping. Nearly a 10 times markup seems a bit high. I called the person who answered the phone told me I could call around to other repair services and see what they were charging and they might refund if there was a big difference. Didn't make sense to me when I already knew what the parts cost and even with a reasonable markup $48 was way over the top. I had a refrigerator repaired last year and the repair guys charged me about twice what I could get the part online for. Using that as a guide the part should have been less than $15 with a generous mark up for parts. I think tech labor was fine but I was gouged on the parts price and not given a satisfactory answer when I called the company and questioned the cost of the part.

Bill, the owner, a very professional and nice guy won out amongst customer service. However Rory, the installer either had a bad day or he was inexperienced as he stripped two fittings one which resulted in blowing nitrogen all over my newly painted shop wall. Also he hung the unit to high which exposed the dry wall! However, Bill's other employee, who came to clean up the botched job was very professional and conscientious and a real gentleman, which is why I would use this company again, with the caveat that this other ace employee do the work (sorry can't remember his name). Bill was very professional and efficient and I have no doubt he will do a good job for you at a fair price! He did make the work right in a timely and professional manner and in the end that is what counts in my book!

The job was done quickly. We were relieved that we didn't have to replace the heat-pump, since it was just a wire that had a weak spot that would sometimes arc to make the connection and wouldn't at other times.

Glacier heating always does their best to get out and complete the repair when you call them. Especially in winter with the heater down. I have used their service at my own home as well as rental properties. I have always considered the price for the work on each occasion to be fair. Their employee is courteous, proffessional and knowledgable.

From the initial visit to assess my home's needs, to the bid that was presented, to the actual installation, everything was handled promptly, professionally, and courteously.
I initially had planned to go with a larger local firm that had done work for my parents that they were happy with (one that was also involved with a promotion through Costco that seemed potentially advantageous), but after the process of getting their bid and evaluating it, I had some reservations about them accurately assessing my needs, as well as sensing what seemed like a heavy dose of attempted "up-selling" and using potential rebates to seemingly minimize the cost. I turned to Angie's List to find recommendations to get a bid to compare theirs to, and I thank the folks that left their feedback for Glacier, as they definitely steered me in the right direction.
When Bill came out to assess my current system/my needs, he was straightforward and cordial, and I had a real comfort with the fact he was looking to sell me what made the most sense for my home, as opposed to trying see how much he he could possibly sell me. He offered two straight-forward options that were both viable considerations, clearly outlined the features of each, and put no pressure on me to take the higher priced (more efficient) of the two. When I had questions before making a choice, he was direct and explained things in terms that were easily understandable to a layman.
The installer (Roy) was prompt (scheduled for 8:30, literally rang my door bell at exactly 8:30), personable, got the job done in a timely manner (faster than I'd have expected) and answered all my questions as I poked my head out occasionally to see what he was doing, and gave me a full run-down on how to program the new thermostat and the way my new system would function.
All told, I got a quality system that I am confident made the most sense for my home, and at a price that was significantly less than one that was roughly comparable (potentially under-sized as that bid was actually for a smaller unit than I previously had and ultimately got from Glacier on the heat pump, so I couldn't even truly compare apples to apples on that) from the other bidder.

Another local heat/air shop had told me my unit was obsolete and would have to be replaced at a cost of $2,000. They billed me $85 for the service call with no repair done.
I called Glacier looking for a 2nd opinion and they came out the same day I called them. They replaced a switch that was burned out, at a cost of $105. Honesty and professional service like this are hard to put a value on. They came out the same day I called, were professional, thorough and most importantly, honest. I cannot rate or recommend them more highly.
