The plumber called a half hour beforehand, arrived about on time, was polite and informative, and did his job. I suppose the price was reasonable at $88 an hour, and he didn't include a charge for his travel time. When the plumber got to his next job, he realized that our cat had climbed into his truck, and jumped out at the new site. The plumber was nice enough to call us so that we could come rescue the cat.

The plumber was 20 minutes late arriving, but he called to let me know. He was very professional and talked about options before starting on the task. He even wore those little booties to keep my house clean. After working for a while, he said that we didn't need to replace the valve. The packing in the valve had compressed, and by working it a little, it sealed fine. We talked about replacing the valve anyway, but I decided not to at this time. There was no charge for the visit. I was left with a hole in my wall that I had to repair, but I'm pretty good at that.
