Darren Onion

Darren Onion bid the complete job from start to finish for $4000.00 for 900 sq feet which I agreed on. He said the job would take 3 days to complete. After 7 days and the job is still not complete he wanted payment, he presented me with a bill for $3250.00. I had given Darren a check for $2400.00 to purchase materials for which he had gotten a discount but charged me full price, which would of left a balance of $1600.00 not $3250.00 to be paid on completion of the job. I have 2 electrical sockets that spark and a breaker that trips everytime you touch it. I was very upset about the amount he wanted me to pay and at no point did he say it would be more to me. He never got the okay to add more days to the schedule. We agreed on a reasonable amount for the work performed and I asked him to put in writing a bid for the final work that still needs to be done according to the price we had agreed on. When he brought me the bid for the final work it said $389.00 for materials and $200.00 for labor and $300.00 for outstanding good enough, when I asked him what the $300.00 was for he said it was for work that he had already done for me. This is after we had already agreed on an amount to cover all this and now he feels the need to charge me again needless to say I won't pay this and his response to me was I hope you can sleep with your conscious and I said I know I will sleep just fine knowing I didn't get screwed over by you again. He threatened to stop me from opening my bar and I told him I have the contractors board, the better business and Angie's List on my side. Well now it's time for all of the work still left to be done and the permit is in his name and he's injured, surgery scheduled, unavailable his words not mine and I have to get another permit in the other electricians name which will cost me money for which I am sending it to Darren Onion since I already paid for 1 permit. Bottom line is watch your back he's not a man of his word and will try and take advantage of you. I need to get the sparking outlets and the breaker fixed and have the new electrician check all of his work. How he passed the first inspection is beyond me. And to top all of this off all I heard the whole time is that he just became a master electrician. Not to be trusted, I would never use him again not to even turn on a light let alone put 1 in. The only thing that wasn't icluded in the bid was the wiring for lottery wich he said waould be $800.00 which I had agreed upon.
