Sparkling Homes is a small, locally owned and operated house cleaning company. Currently, it is myself and one assistant doing the cleanings. We are absolutely pet and child friendly. Our pricing includes all travel expenses, our own supplies and equipment including a top of the line vacuum with a hepa filter (which reduces allergens in your air). Payment is due upon cleaning completion and we have no contracts as we are confident in our cleaning service.

When I first contacted Sparkling Homes two years ago I had two requirements: that they be honest and not steal from me and that they clean my house on Fridays due to my four day 10 hour work week Monday through Thursday and my need to manage my mother's care in addition to those hours. She agreed. Initially, it was set up for the first Friday of the month and then at their request, moved to the fourth Friday of the month. A couple of times, they requested coming on Thursday which I did once but it was very stressful so I asked that they stick to their original agreement with me.
Things got thrown off schedule in December with both Christmas and New Year's falling on Friday. In January and February they came in the middle of the month and I had a couple days notice. When Terra contacted me this month to come in the middle of the month on a Thursday, I told her I couldn't do it as I had an injured leg and that I was hoping she could do the last Friday of the month as it is my grandson's 16th birthday and I was thinking about having a party for him. She said she could not come at all the last week of the month and wanted to come on Monday which I am currently working at home on a big project. I told her that wouldn't work as I would be doing conference calls and writing. I asked about Friday a couple weeks out and she said Fridays were rarely available and since there was no flexibility in my schedule, she would return my key.
Then I discovered on Angie's List she was accommodating other clients for every Friday. I can understand her wanting to put a weekly client in in place of a once a month client, but being honest with me about it instead of firing me without notice is hardly an trustworthy business practice. So, in the end, I got neither honesty nor my Fridays.

Unfortunately, as business grows we could no longer maintain our initial agreement of cleaning on Fridays. I do my very best to clean on days/times that clients request, but I do hope for a little flexibility on their end as you expect from me. Our day got switched from the end of the month to the middle and continued to fall on those days so that your next clean was not sooner or later- we wanted to be consistent at every four weeks. Unfortunately, we could not come to an agreement on a cleaning day so of course I would not retain your key. I do my best to accommodate every client’s cleaning needs. To reference your comment of accommodating other clients on Friday that is not true. This client is hoping for a Friday slot, at this time they are being flexible and we are cleaning on another day until something opens up. I am a very honest person, I am sorry you feel differently. With the grade that you have left our company, I’m not sure why you would even want continue with our service on Fridays if we could have worked that out. My goal as a business owner is to be fair and make our clients happy- giving our quality a “C” you clearly weren’t pleased with our service. I appreciate that you used our service for two years and wish you well and hope that you find a service that will make you happy. Thank you!"

Terra's communication was excellent. We made arrangements a couple weeks prior and she worked us into her schedule. She has a work partner that like her is very polite. She comes prepared with her cleaning supplies. I felt very comfortable leaving her with our house. My wife was very happy with the cleaning that Sparkling Homes did. They know what they are doing. When they were finished they even let our dog back in the house. We will be using them again for repeat once a month service. Thank you Terra for a job well done..

I've never seen my cupboards looking so clean since I painted them years ago and the stove top was gleaming.
This was an initial cleaning and I expected to pay a bit more to get started. Now I'm going to go on a regular cleaning schedule which will reduce the price and I'll be able to dig deeper and eventually add the lower floor where the laundry room is.

Terra and Vanessa were nice, punctual, and professional. I had to leave for work 10 minutes after their arrival, and felt completely comfortable leaving them alone in my home. They are very animal friendly, and although my indoor cats decided to hide, I was confident that they would be nice to the kitties if they emerged, and would not let them sneak outside.
They did a good job cleaning my apartment. The bathroom in particular was super dirty and looked great when I got home! Although my place wasn't 100% spotless-- some baseboards not dusted, did not wipe down walls, etc-- , considering the level of dirt prior to their visit I'm very pleased. (I live in an old apartment with peeling paint, lots of nooks and crannies, and had not deep cleaned in a VERY long time.) Since they had estimated one hour and I left them with a blank check to fill in with actual time worked, I'm glad they cleaned until the place looked great rather than put in the time to get it perfect-- which would have taken much longer than the 1.5 hours they spent! Hard to beat what they accomplished for $135.
I also really appreciate that they use eco-friendly cleaning products (except optional bathroom bleach). I'm really sensitive to chemical smells, and my apartment was odorless when I got home from work. Plus I didn't need to worry about nasty products around the kitties.
All of which is to say... Terra and Vanessa were very likable, trustworthy, and efficient. Not a *perfect* clean, but a dramatic improvement over the neat-but-dirty apartment they arrived at! I'm looking forward to hiring them again in a month or two!

I explained all this to the manager/owner of Sparkling Homes and was reassured everything would be done to my satisfaction. So I hired them several months ago. And I have been extremely happy. My home has remained secure. Nothing has been broken. And my house is very clean! Sparkling Homes charges a tiny bit more than what I was used to, but for the extra quality, its well worth the price. I also realized there was one room we had not discussed at our initial visit, and thus had not yet been cleaned. I mentioned this to the owner and was met with reassurance that it would be clean during their next visit. How nice to not have to argue about things! I strongly suggest hiring Sparkling Homes...you won't be disappointed!

Terra and her assistant have been a joy to work with. They are always prompt and professional. They have responded to all my requests for doing things a certain way - such as always closing the blinds so they tilt upward! They have been flexible with scheduling and contact me a couple weeks in advance to confirm the next cleaning date. They do a quality job and are well worth the price paid!
