VILLAGE PROPERTIES

We were tenants in a property that they "managed." We have owned and rented houses ourselves. We are not unsophisticated fools - although we have been treated like that. They were unresponsive and unenthusiastic. They advertised amenities under one advertised price then slipped in extra charges for those amenities in the lease. We feel they unfairly withheld funds from our deposit. For instance, they charged us to "winterize" a hot tub after we moved out - they think that's fair because they snuck that into the fine print - yep, that's how they do business, do you really need to hear any more? Okay, almost all of our inquiries into any matter seemed to receive contradictory and conflicting replies; we often felt lied to and deceived. They were, from start to finish, an unpleasant disaster. The owner of the company doesn't seem to be involved in the operation and the employees clearly do not enjoy their work. So how bad was it? Well, think about just how bad an experience would have to be for your husband to put aside a beer on a Friday night in order to sign up for an Angie's List account and describe it. Yes, it was that bad. Do not rent a property that these folks manage, you will not enjoy the experience. If you own a home and are considering this company to act as your agent . . . consider alternatives.
