We ripped out our rotting wooden back deck to put in a paver patio. When Tim came over to help excavate and grade the space he discovered the 'pond' under our 1929 house. The kitchen and laundry room pipes had massive holes and were draining under the house. So much for a quick renovation and new back patio! Tim was a great resource and helped us switch gears, hooking us up with all the contacts and tips of the trade we needed for clearing out the pond and re-plumbing before moving forward with the original patio job.
Soon we were back on track with the original patio project. We discussed the various options for drainage and how to grade the patio. He was very knowledgeable about the different possible solutions and offered pros and cons to each method and what he believed was the best option for the layout and drainage of our backyard. One concern we had was the flow of air down the slope of our backyard under the house and out to the front yard and that the new patio might inhibit this flow and we would lose our 'natural' air conditioning in the summer. So he designed the new foundation with several ventilation holes and our 'air conditioning' is working great all these years later!
We rented an excavator and he was so adept that he finished much quicker than we anticipated. So as not to lose out on the rental cost by returning it before the due time he suggested we level the space in the back alley behind the fence for some future use such as a basketball court or just for spare parking in the mean time. We have used that parking on numerous occasions!
We now have a beautiful back patio that doesn't flood or puddle like our old deck and is fun to hose clean and watch drain properly.

We met Tim Harris of Forestcraft construction through our children attending the same school together. Several years later, I worked with Tim while volunteering to help the school build and use a school kitchen garden. To help the school out, he donated his time and materials to build a timbered archway and gate leading into the garden. My husband and I were so impressed with the good, solid work Tim did for a volunteer, garden project that we hired Forestcraft to help fix-up and rebuild our front porch.
Our project went smoothly and hassle free. We're satisfied customers.
