Soon we were back on track with the original patio project. We discussed the various options for drainage and how to grade the patio. He was very knowledgeable about the different possible solutions and offered pros and cons to each method and what he believed was the best option for the layout and drainage of our backyard. One concern we had was the flow of air down the slope of our backyard under the house and out to the front yard and that the new patio might inhibit this flow and we would lose our 'natural' air conditioning in the summer. So he designed the new foundation with several ventilation holes and our 'air conditioning' is working great all these years later!
We rented an excavator and he was so adept that he finished much quicker than we anticipated. So as not to lose out on the rental cost by returning it before the due time he suggested we level the space in the back alley behind the fence for some future use such as a basketball court or just for spare parking in the mean time. We have used that parking on numerous occasions!
We now have a beautiful back patio that doesn't flood or puddle like our old deck and is fun to hose clean and watch drain properly.
Our project went smoothly and hassle free. We're satisfied customers.
