They said I needed a new transmission. The engine was not shifting at the time. They replaced the transmission and now the engine isn't running properly.
Response from Ninth Street Auto Repair & Transmissions
"[Member Name Removed], I'm sorry that you are not happy with our work. The transmission however is a component of an automobile drivetrain that is operating completely separate from the engine. Many of our customers discover that in addition to a slipping or inoperable transmission, they also have engine drivability issues that we can also help correct. Since I have not heard from you since the replacement of your transmission, I was unaware of the problems you are having. I will reach out to you on Monday and would be happy to diagnose your problem with the engine for free."

Serviced Brakes were OK, Only had a rock chip in the rotor. They fixed it and preformed a LOF at the same time...
Save me down time and money....
Steve and Toni are amazing, The waiting room is beautiful and comfortable. Coffee, Cookies, TV... Internet... I could work on my laptop and save valuable time. The service was excellent, Van was clean, they noted some future service needs that need to be done soon. Great Service, Great Value

I found several problems after picking up my vehicle the first time.  Several of these things, I fixed on my own.  Steve later called me and said he would fix the remaining issues (basically, fixing some leaks and a re-servicing) at no further cost.  I returned the vehicle to his shop, along with a new OEM pan gasket.

UPDATE, 12 Jan 2014:
The problems I observed were not technical.  Rather, they were basic maintenance discipline such as ensuring bell housing bolts were tightened, exhaust flange tightened evenly, pan bolts not overtorqued, leaks checked after maintenance, and a final clean up so further leaks could be detected.  I also noticed an inspection plate bolt that was broken off, which should have been brought to my attention.  This naturally led me to question other things, such as whether the transmission had been serviced appropriately (dropping pan, replacing filter, cleaning magnet) since it was not mentioned on the receipt or parts list.  After bringing this up with Steve, he had the mechanic re-service the transmission, and sent me pictures of the pan, filter, and magnet. Upon picking up the vehicle the 2nd time, all the previous issues were resolved, but the fluid level was overfilled by 1.5 quarts.  Steve said that he is implementing some new policies to keep these things from happening again.

I rated AAMCO a "D" because in my case, quality of maintenance is what I value the most.  This AAMCO does a better job than most other shops I've used regarding things like their waiting area, nice facility, courtesy shuttle, etc.

Response from Ninth Street Auto Repair & Transmissions
"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for your comments. I see "punctuality" was a line you gave us a lower grade for. It's difficult for many of our customers to differentiate between the "quick lube" services they have received in the past and our full car care service. We are NOT a quick lube. Where a $9/hour Jiffy Lube individual has 9 minutes to visually inspect your vehicle and diagnose leaks, etc, our ASE trained technicians do a full 30 point visual inspection of all of your fluids, test them for color, smell, viscosity, full or low and then top them off, inspect your brakes, belts, air filter, differential fluids, transmission fluids, transfer case (if 4x4), AND change the oil and filter, this is a time consuming operation. What you leave with however is a very clear understanding of the condition of your car in that moment in time and what repairs might be coming at you in the future so you can budget for those repairs. We will not perform a "quick lube" type service even if requested because it is a disservice to our customers. What we do however is offer a free shuttle to take you home or to work. We will pick up your vehicle at work, perform the service and return it to you while you are doing what you do best! Our customer service is second to none and we take great pride in it. Please come see us again, we also have a new rewards program you'll love. Have a fresh cup of Keurig coffee and if you want, I'll put it in a "to go" cup and give you a ride home until your car is done. Steve."

My daughter had an oil change in her 2001 Honda Accord, and, at that time she was told the tranny fluid was burned and should be changed for a service fee of $130.00.
I checked Angie's List first and found AAMCO had top reviews in all areas, called them, spoke to Steve, and was quoted $99.95. Not only a better deal but very friendly and personable on the phone, with complete explanation of their service. They got her right in and service was completed in 30-45 minutes.
My daughter's impression---great staff, friendly, and really nice waiting area (so she could sit and text, I'm sure.
I highly recommend AAMCO her in Bend.

They arrived quickly, which was great. When back at their shop waiting for the wires and headlight to get fixed, we enjoyed a great cup of fresh coffee, homemade banana bread, and the owner's wife offered chocolate, which I never refuse. They've serviced our truck, our son's Jeep and we've always been happy with the service. They go above and beyond. Their customer waiting area is very clean and comfortable. We'll use them whenever our vehicles need service or repair.

I had to be towed in and they knew that I needed to get back on the road soon. It wouldn't be done until the next day due to getting the part . They asked if I had somewhere to stay. I had to wait for my friend to drive 50 miles to get me, so I waited in the car. It was getting close to closing and at least 3 people asked me if I would like for them to stay with me until my friend got there. They seemed to truly care about my safety. The next day, the mechanic came out and showed me the part that was replaced and gave me a short course on speed sensors in a way that I could understand. I left there happy and with a bit of renewed faith in businesses. I could not have had a more positive experience. They treated me with courtesy and dignity .
