Family owned and operated by with over 35 years experience. Ric and Cecilia Secor welcome you to Home Heating and Cooling in Bend, Oregon, providing comfort to homes and small businesses. It is our goal to make sure your systems are in tip top shape, keeping you safe and comfortable. This includes maintenance, service, repairs, planned and emergency replacement of heating and air conditioning systems, gas furnaces, electric furnaces, duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, duct testing and sealing using Aeroseal technology, ductless heat pumps, dryer vent and range venting, humidifiers, and air purification systems with technicians that are drug tested, background checked and professionally trained. If you are looking for the best of the best and an above average company from a customer service stand point look no further! Ricky Shapiro was my project manager. He went through my house with a fine tooth comb to then give me a multitude of different options to help get me back up and running! I decided the the Aeroseal product made sense for my home and was shocked at the speed in which Ray and Ethan were able to install and seal my existing duct work! Dakota, Chris, and Fausto were the main install team for my heat pump, blower, and furnace! These guys wired long days while I was not home, and let me tell you, they left the work space looking better than the way they left it! This is said to be true for the entire team! Ric Secor is one owner operator that know how to run a business where customer satisfaction is paramount to anything else! He was involved from start to finish ensuring his team was doing above average work. He was also on site multiple times to make sure all was going as planned. I highly recommend Home heating and cooling!

Nic and Indra came out and did a fantastic job. They were both knowledgable, industrious, friendly, efficient and took time to explain the before and after of what they were going to do, what they found and what they did do. The total time was right on the estimate. I would highly recommend them and the company to anyone. No hesitance at all.

It was terrible the owner if the company ask me what can I do to make it right. I'm taking time out of my office and they only offer 10% coupon. I really had a bad experienced the owner of the company he is concern a little but he didn't care a lot. I will recommend them not to use they were scary they just turn around and left and didn't give any quote and left my home.

When you called in you were able to talk to the owner (me) who offered an immediate solution that you turned down. Excellent professional service with photos of previous service, thorough subject knowledge and he listened. Good command of the facts. We wanted to have ducts cleaned but he reminded us it had already been done so saved us a lot of money. He also looked up our account history before coming and conferred with his staff to get all the history.

I used to have a high opinion of Ric Secor and the service techs at Home Heating but have been forced to change my mind. While he appears to be very professional and attentive, consider this. I bought a $10,397 system from him in 2012 with a 10 year parts and labor warranty. I have confirmed this directly with Amana. The warranty is still in force until Feb 2022. On Tuesday my ac quit working so called HH for service. The tech came the following day and diagnosed a $10 capacitor was at fault but would need to have Amana look at it before it could be replaced under warranty. Looking at several more days without ac I offered to buy it outright so that they could just fix it before they left. The tech went to prepare a quote and returned to announce the system was no longer under warranty because I have not been buying annual maintenance service and that I owed him $96 for the service call. I then called Ric who said I should call a different Amana dealer for warranty service but that he would drop off the no-charge part that evening. This was only the second time I called for warranty service. The other issue was over a controller fault. HH had looked at it a couple of times but have never resolved the problem. I also used them to extend the system during a remodel last year. I asked Amana customer service if annual maintenance is required to keep the warranty in force. She said she had not heard of that. On her recommendation I called Deschutes Heating and Cooling. They do not require annual maintenance, in fact have never heard of that condition and would be glad to do any warranty work. They confirmed the warranty was in force and would be paid by Amana for their work. Regarding the Home Heating service tech, I could sense something was up as he was diagnosing the unit. He said CEC was producing dirty power and was probably the reason the capacitor failed. He said the fan blade and fan motor was about to fail and that the compressor was probably not far behind. He said that these parts should be replaced now but would not be covered by warranty. He said he should also install a device to protect the unit from dirty power. Obviously he was trying to scare me and sell me a bunch of stuff. This is apparently how Home Heating is trying to grow their sales. Unless you are willing to spend 10% to 20% on top of the new system price for maintenance to stay in good grace with Home Heating, I suggest you consider Deschutes Heating & Cooling, 541-382-0424. They showed up within a couple hours, took care of the problem at no charge and said the rest of the system looked to be in good condition. Please note I emailed Ric an advanced draft of this review asking for his comment. His reply was "Sorry you are not happy. I wish you the best." I recommend working with a company that is more forthcoming, will not try to scare you into spending on unnecessary repairs and will provide warranty work per the Amana terms.

"As per the Agreement you signed in 2012 having routine scheduled service is required. Your response to our Technicians was profane laden and over the top. I wish you the best and per our discussion I confirmed at THIS TIME Amana was still processing warranty claims without regard to what their manual says. So parts are covered for now and our labor is not. We are very forthcoming and complete regarding what our NATE Certified Technicians find and like a good Doctor or Dentist we give you choices. We grow our sales through good solid complete service for Clients that respect our trade and Technicians."

First, Neil did a thorough inspection of the work to be done; I felt confident in his estimate of the work to be done. His comments about the state of the ductwork with supporting pictures showed the work was truly needed. Nick showed up to do the work exactly as scheduled. He too showed before and after pictures demonstrating how thoroughtly the ductwork was cleaned. Nick left no trace that he'd even been there. Both Neil and Nick were courteous and professional. These guys are good!

You have a very nice home and the scope of the choices reflected more than just changing out the furnace and adding a new AC. Some of the other included items were Aeroseal (duct sealing from the inside, duct repair and cleaning) that help indoor air quality, comfort and efficiency. You elected on my return to let me know you would not be using us without a chance for me to review. I am not a high pressure salesperson out there to pressure you in reconsidering. The photos I took of the issues were forwarded to you this morning via email. I do not misrepresent anything and to make this statement indicates the selected vendor is taking a different, less complete approach. We are a locally family owned and operated small business and find it interesting you elected to give our Company an F three months later without even doing business with our team or me having a chance to review the scope/benefits.
