They have always done the work that was required at a fair price. I had good experience with them.

When I first came in, the mechanics and the front desk personnel were very patient in dealing with my inability to articulate the problems with my Jeep. When it was determined that the problem was with the latch on my back hatch, the mechanics were willing to take out my interior lights pro bono as a stop-gap solution for my battery dying until they could order the parts I needed. When the parts came in, Happy Dane's called me back promptly and scheduled me for the repairs. The work was completed quickly and I have not had problems since. I did not shop around, but followed the recommendation of friends, and while I think the service was spectacular, I think the $80/hr they charged for labor was a bit much. This may just be ignorance of the local price of this service, but I feel like it could be offered for less. Overall, though, I was pleased with my experience and would willingly go back for future automotive issues.

They're very honest. They take your car around the block to check it out and see what's wrong with it. If there's nothing wrong, they don't charge you.

Spoke with Michelle the day before about getting an oil change and also diagnostic and repair of a high/low idle problem before going out of town the next day with the car. Dropped the car off at 0630. Started calling for an update around 2pm and was put on hold twice with no response and then was on hold longer than I could wait Finally got a call going on 5 o'clock telling me they could not figure out the problem. The owner said he cleaned, checked and repositioned the throttle body and sensor and then thought it was a fuel problem and he thought a fuel filter would be a fix. He also said I should add an additive and he would leave a bottle in the car. He said I could pay Michelle and the car would be out front. I payed over the phone and picked up the car at 8:15 and it was worse than when I dropped it off. The car was cycling from high to low idle without stopping. I left a frustrated message because, 1) I was clear I needed the car to go out of town and I felt the car was done at the 11th hour, in a rush while I dropped it off in plenty of time to find out it would not be ready. I had tried to avoid the 11th hour by calling early but could not get a callback or speak to anyone. and 2) This a a 1990 Honda and it surprised me that Happy Danes could not diagnose an idle problem. They have been in business for years and I went in feeling like I had an experienced Honda specialty shop to deal with and was left feeling like I had been taken advantage of. At no point did I get a call early enough to change my weekend plans and I couldn't get thru to ask what the time frame was so that I could make a change. I did not hear from the shop until it was too late and then was told I needed a fuel filter and additive. I heard from the shop on Tuesday, after the Labor Day weekend in response to my message. The owner of the shop said he wanted the car back as he wanted to try to fix it again. I told him I was not sure I wanted to bring the car back to his shop as he could not fix it the first time . The next day I called the shop to talk to the owner to see what plan he had and what he was going to do as I was uncomfortable dropping my car off again. I got a call from Michelle who said at first she did not know I needed the car for the weekend and many times it takes more than a day to fix a car. and she had only scheduled 2 hours and many times they were not able to diagnose a problem the first time. I did repeat that I felt I was clear on needing the car for the weekend and Michelle then said she did remember me saying that. I said I felt I needed to know before 5pm when I brought the car in at 6:30 am that it would not be fixed. I also stated that my trust in Happy Danes was shaken as I felt they were the experts and they could not fix the problem. Michelle suggested I take the car to the person who made the right diagnosis. I did.
