I called Angels and Aprons on a Tuesday in a little bit of a rush. I needed to get my newly remodeled home ready for photos, and on the market by the following day.
The owner of Angels and Aprons came out about 2 hours later and gave me a quick estimate on the cost for whole house construction cleaning. She said that they could be out there tomorrow morning. I hired her knowing that from her displayed energy and tenacity, she and her crew could get the job done quickly.
The next day I showed up to see a normal sight of 4 people in the house cleaning. Everything seemed to be going fine. Then slowly things started to falter throughout the day. The light fixtures needed to be redone, the tops of some cabinets rewiped, door faces rewiped, some windows redone on the inside, basement floor remopped, and a few other things. I figured that this was normal and the owner of the company promptly got someone to fix these issues the same day.
As the day drew to a close, the most important thing that I had asked to be done still wasn't finished. This was stripping and sealing the kitchen floor. Not to mention, they still hadn't finished scrubbing the basement floor and vacuuming out the cupboards down there.
Angels and Aprons told me not worry and came back the following day (Thursday) to finish up what should've been finished on Wednesday. This was not what we agreed upon. Not to mention, I mistakenly paid for an unfinished job, that I thought was going to be finished within the next couple of hours. This was the kitchen floor stripping and sealing. This part of the job did not get finished until what I gather to be late Friday night. I left the house around 7pm, and no one had shown up yet. I went over Saturday morning and the floor had been sealed. Unfortunately, they got floor sealer on my newly refinished hardwood.
The job was supposedly complete except for the windows in the garage and the basement cabinets. I grew tired of calling and blew it off to "I'll never use them again."
An interesting thing about this company... I went to dinner party later that Friday night and was discussing my woes with some friends and mentioned the name of the company that I was using. They told me that a tenant of theirs had used the Angels and Aprons to clean their residence and had caused some serious problems. I couldn't believe what they were telling me. This lead me to check with the Better Business Bureau. And I found a few issues there.
In closing, I believe that for the most part they did a decent job. Not what we agreed upon. But, they did just an ok job. I guess I'm still looking for exceptional.

Not good. Appointment made for 2 pm, crew showed up early at 1 pm. Let themselves in, no phone call to me. They did not do a good job. Had to clean house myself after crew left.

I called to get an estimate for monthly recurring leaning. Angela came out the next day to go over the home and list the things that needed to be done and those that I didn't want done. We agreed on a price and set a date for the first cleaning. On the appointed day, her crew arrived on time and we did a quick walk through with the list that Joe had been given. I left the house and came home after they had gone and the house sparkled. Everything that had been discussed was done well.

I called Angela to set an appointment for an estimate.  We walked through the house and determined what needed to be done and agreed on a price and date. We also set follow-up cleaning appointments for the future. Both the estimate appointment and the cleaning appointment were re-scheduled by Angela.  The first to the next day and the latter to just later in the day.  Angela called and we agreed to the changed appointments.
Angela and the cleaning crew arrived at about the time they were (re)-scheduled for.  Angela did a quick orientation with the crew and left.  There were three people in the crew. They spent about 2 1/2 hours doing the cleaning and I think they did a pretty thorough job. In addition to the usual dusting, vacuuming, bath and kitchen cleaning, they dusted the ceilings for cobwebs, etc., and vacuumed the windowsills. I did not ask for the windows to be cleaned except for one slider and the kitchen windows--which were done. I did not stay in the house while they were working--I was in an adjacent building and told them where I would be if I was needed. I didn't have a lot of contact with the crew, but what I did was pleasant and friendly.
As they were about done, only thing left was the floors, I was asked to check out their work.  I noticed one windowsill needed vacuuming, and otherwise all looked OK.  They did that before they left, cleaned the floor and left.
They did an exceptionally fine job of cleaning the hard water-etched glass shower doors.  Better than I or any of my previous house cleaners have been able to do! I also have a lot of dust-catching knick-knacks and all were handled carefully and they and their shelves were dusted quite well. The stove-top and microwave were absolutely sparking!
After they left I noticed that the floor in the front bathroom had not been vacuumed or mopped (lint, hair, and spots on the floor made it obvious), and that the textured floor of the shower in the master bath was not cleaned adequately.  I took care of both of these small problems myself, and have since notified Angela so they (hopefully) won't be missed on the next appointment.
While in the house, I noted that one of the crew members was using one of my kitchern chairs to stand on to dust the top of a cabinet in the bedroom.  I didn't say anything about it, but it somehow seemed inappropriate--I think they should probably have their own step-stools for reaching high places--or if not they could have asked for one--one was easily accessible in the garage.
Overall, the fine work they did well outweighed the few negative aspects, and I am happily having them return for a more routine cleaning in a couple of weeks.

Angela (the owner) came over and walked through my house room by room with me taking notes on everything that needed cleaning. That list was then given to her crew so everyone knew what was expected. I had a deep cleaning done the first time and now have an ongoing cleaning every 2 weeks. In the deep clean the blinds were done to perfection, baseboards were wiped and high places cleaned. Even places I had no idea needed cleaning (!). The wood floors were polished squeaky clean as were the kitchen granite counters and stove top. Joe and his 2 helpers who, clean my home in less than 2 hours, are congenial and professional. They are totally efficient, organized and use high quality, eco friendly products. Nothing has ever been broken and whenever I have a request beyond the basic cleaning Joe is happy to oblige if he has time. I couldn't be happier with Angels In Aprons!

According to my alarm system they were there less than an hour. When I asked if they had to leave for some reason and when they were coming back, I was told they had completed the job. She claimed three people came to the house to clean, and finished everything in "a few hours".

When I mentioned my alarm keeps track of time, and that the crew (if there even was a crew) was only the 53 minutes, she said she would double check their time cards, but was confident they had done a good job. I said, "Even with a 5 person crew they couldn't have done a "Deep Cleaning" in 53 minutes by the time they set up their stuff, and put everything away... they must have only spent 40 minutes lightly cleaning.

In essence, I wasted $2.35 a minute for nothing. I sent a friend over to look at the house, and she said it didn't appear to have been cleaned. There was dust on the tables, and blinds, and tracks left by the front door.

TOTAL RIP-OFF.

 I contacted Angela on 8/03/2011. The company was referred to me by a long time associate who uses the company on a weekly basis. I was a little skeptical as I have had problems with cleaning companies before, however i was assured that Angela and her crew take the utmost pride in their work and would not disappoint. Boy was she right. Angela came by my home on 8/08/2011 to preform a walk threw and make a list of what I wanted done. We went threw in detail each room and exactly what I wanted done. On 8/12/2011 the crew arrived in the morning for the clean. They where very friendly and upbeat and after walking threw the house with Angela and myself and going over the list we had made they went right to work. Angela called the crew during the clean to double check that they where covering everything on the list and that I was happy with the progress.  When the crew had finished, the crew leader did a walk threw of each room so that I could point out anything that I felt needed more attention. Only after making sure I was satisfied the crew packed up and left. They spent about 4 hours total. I have now scheduled to have a bi weekly clean done by the crew, and for a great price.

The crew was polite upon arrival.  They had a list to work from the owner had given them. and refused to do anything not on the list.
When the owner called to see how soon they would be leaving
the crew got in a more hurried mode and left in a more hurried rush.
