It took a couple of days for the owner to contact me but following that, everything was excellent. The team came two days later and did exactly what I asked of them.

First of all I want to apologize to Jonathan Smith the owner of Woodsmith Tree Service for not posting this review quite some time ago. I was on Angies List today and remembered that I had forgotten to do this review. Last August (2012) I called Woodsmith to get a quote on removing a giant (90' wide, 80' tall with a 5+ foot diameter trunk) Silver Maple from my backyard. Jonathan worked hard to give me a very competitive quote. He spoke extensively about how he would go about the project and what would need to be done in preparation (Asplundh the tree trimmers for PGE had to remove branches hanging over the energized power lines which ran next to and under the tree) and I removed a small section of chainlink fence so he could get his excavator to the work area. I appreciated his professionalism and knowledge and after considering all the quotes I had gotten, I decided to use his tree service on this very large project. I wanted to save some money so I helped out by cutting up limbs and stacking the cut pieces on one side of my lot. The project took several days and he even used his excavator to help pull the main trunk section over once it had been trimmed down to a manageable 40' high. The trunk lying on the ground was as tall as the guys working on the project. It took over a day to cut up the trunk and grind the stump. The excavator was used to scoop and move massive quantities of wood chips created by the stump grinder and to pickup and move the foot thick by 5 foot diameter slabs of trunk to the side of my lot (I was grateful to him for moving those slabs since it hadn't been part of the original deal). If I could upload a photo I would submit a picture of Jonathan standing on top of a cut-off fork of a branch 60' in the air while he cut the neighboring branch off (owns the company and does his own tree work). If your looking for someone who is knowledge, professional, a hard worker and competitive bidder. I whole heartedly recommend Woodsmith Tree Service.

Another company started the job, but they never finished. Jonathan was able to finish removing the stump, branches, and tree limbs. He cleaned up very well after himself. He did a very nice job. I will use them again in the future.
