"Thank you for choosing Western Heating for your heating and indoor air quality needs. You were great to work with."
Did not last for an hour and still charged me. Also charged me for a service call when I was due a contracted appt. anyway.
They showed up immediately! I called at 10AM and they were at my house before 11!! WOW...and I wasn't even in a rush! . The office said there was a cancellation and a tech was available right then. The technician answered my questions, showed me the failed part and explained what had gone wrong. He was so efficient and professional, I signed up for regular spring and fall maintenance inspections which provide for 15% discount on any repairs, no overtime or weekend rates and priority service. Even though the price seems a bit high, it includes $255 as the annual service agreement.
I hadn't put any $ or effort into my HVAC systems for a dozen years since everything was working fine....shame on me. Now that the system is getting older, I hope to have it last as long as possible. Regular inspections and preventative maintenance will help that a great deal.
This firm seems to have more than 1 location in the metro area and I like to help out local companies. You won't be sorry with these guys.
"On 11-16-2013 Western Heating was scheduled to perform a tune-up on the gas furnace under the guidelines printed on the Amazon voucher. The tune-up was performed accordingly and the system was in good working order at that time. On 12-30-2013, approximately 6 weeks after the tune-up, Western Heating was contacted as cold air was coming from the registers at the rental. When the appointment was scheduled the owner was advised if the problem was due to the tune-up there would not be a service fee. If it was unrelated to the tune-up there would be a service fee. We were asked to call on the way, which we did. Upon performing the diagnostic it was determined the heat pump was going into defrost cycle and that's when the tenant felt cold air coming through the registers. This is normal operation for a heat pump, so no problems were found. Since the issue was not related to the tune-up a service fee would apply. The tenant was home so the Technician educated them on how to clean the electronic filter and explained how the system operates as some people are not familiar with the operation of a heat pump and how it works, especially during cold temperatures. In November 2013 the company had migrated to a new invoicing program. During the process some invoices were not mailed in a timely manner. We learned there was a coding issue and fixed it as soon as it was brought to our attention. Customers were given a more than fair discount on there invoice for inconvenience, all though this is not required of a company. All though it’s unfortunate the invoice was mailed out late, these things happen when working with computers and transitioning to new software. It does not exclude the fact that service was performed and payment is due. On behalf of Western Heating, we are sorry the customer feels this way and apologize for the stress it has caused. We have done what we can to resolve the matter in a fair manner."
The appointment was made for the day after my call.
Russ showed up exactly as expected and quickly fixed the problem and took a few minutes to explain why the connection had leaked.
$98 for a service call seems a little bit on the high side for my expectations but based on the results, I'm completely satisfied.
They are very punctual. Their price was reasonable. The worker was very professional. It was good enough that I went ahead and got a service contract from them to come back every year and do annual service for me. I would use their service in the future too.
