Communications was a challenge from the beginning, project started and stopped multiple times. I was blamed for much of this. Completed the first part of the install but the vendor had to come out to finish due to more communications issues.

Herbert and Jacob were punctual and very professional and polite. They did a great job.

I had estimates from three other local stove companies and the costs were so high I almost gave up on this project. I remembered that someone recommended Tom Bishop and I checked Angie's List and emailed him. Tom understood what I wanted and went out of his way to find me a contemporary stove that would work for my situation and I could afford. The installers were friendly and did fantastic work (and I am picky), wanted me to be completely satisfied, and were very careful in removing the old stove.

The bid was well priced.

The work was finished on time and as agreed.

I very much appreciated his can do attitude about finding a craftsman to deal with unusual situations.

Very well.  On time.  Flexible.  Met commitments.  Arrived within minutes of agreed upon time.  Worked perfectly and we like the final product.  Worked to find the best solution for our situation.

Originally had problem with cancelled appointment.  However, problem was resolved and service was performed.

Just fine - we love the results. He came out and we discussed what we wanted,  sent us via email many options and we sent via email back what we wanted. We had some changes and they came out to measure again and then we talked about other options. What I did like is that he was responsive via email and sent all sorts of details that way. They were here when they said they would be. Their supplier took longer than he expected and he let me know - so there was no worries - we weren't in a rush anyway. Turned out great!

Tom Bishop recommended an the insert and the doors that I did decide to go with.  ( I recommend visiting NW Natural Gas Showroom where you can see the units  and talk with their very knowledgeable staff.)  The building codes  for fireplaces has changed recently too so make sure your contractor understands.   I did hire another contractor to build the new firebox and replace the stone surround to code before the insert was installed.  
Tom Bishop contracted an electrician to put an outlet into the back of my old firebox.  They installed the insert in one fireplace and installed glass doors  on another fireplace;  this was completed in one morning.    The installers reviewed the care and use of the unit and the remote.     (it's been 90 degrees so I admit I haven't worked with it much.)   They also filled out paperwork for me to submit to get an Energy Trust rebate.   All in all, very nice to deal with.

We called to set up an appointment to meet our schedule, the crew showed up on time, determined the cause of our problem, and repaired the issue.  They did this quickly, cleanly, and professionally.  I'll emphasize the "cleanly" part again, since repairing a fireplace can be messy and they did an outstanding job of containing it.

They were excellent.  They were able to fix the fireplace which no one else could.  They are really good people.  They went the extra mile and did a really good job. 

In all regards the work was done very professionally and with high regard for the final outcome.  We had already purchased the light fixtures and done the tear-out of the existing lights.  The electrician was a sub-con but was monitored by Tom Bishop.  The drywall technician was in-house and did a fantastic job.

We are very happy with the final result and would use Tom Bishop again in the future.

Tom was on time and his crew worked hard. The project was finished according to the budget. Tom ended up doing my neighbors house also.
