Steve is fantastic. I was selling suburban home with an acre of property in Hillsboro but I was living out of state as part of a 1031 exchange. He listened closely to my situation and objectives. The house was my home for many years but I converted it to a rental for about 10 years while I was out of state. I was not in a hurry to sell but was willing to move fast if the right opportunity came up. Steve put together a fantastic sale proposal with realistic sale price and time line. Because I was out of state he was a huge help with lining up service providers and the shepherding of the process. Steve kept track of everything and never missed a date. I highly valued Steve's opinions but he always did what I asked. I would love to work with Steve again if I ever move back to the Hillsoboro area.

I ,as the seller, am out of state so I needed someone reliable that could handle on site problems getting the house ready for sale. He handled such things as getting someone to conduct the furnishing estate sale, someone to replace a window, to replace carpet, check the electrical panel, router the sewer line, maintain the landscape, and repair the gas fireplace among other maintenance and repair issues. He did a great job of photographing and presenting the house in the MLS. He was responsive without being badgering. The title and escrow company he worked with was easy to deal with and I was able to handle my side of the closing paperwork locally through a mobile notary public All in all a pleasant, minimum stress house sale for me.

The service from Steve Gray was excellent. We had some repair issues with the house and Steve and his teammate Todd Crawford did an excellent job managing repairs as I was not local.. We received multiple offers and sold the house for slightly more than the asking price. I would use them again.

Steve Gray stepped in at a stressful time in my life, what with the death of my mother and dealing with my elderly father, to help me sell their house and dispose of the contents. I had never personally sold a house before so this was new and scary territory for me. Steve came over and laid out exactly what would be required plus a timeline of the events that would take place before actually putting the house up for sale. I can't tell you how it alleviated the stress. He is very knowledgeable regarding the Portland market and has been in the business for many years. This experience showed as we went through the sale process. He kept in constant touch with me, updating me on market fluctuations and evaluating offers that came in. I know he had other clients, but he always made me feel like I was his top priority. When we did make the sale, I felt confident that we had not left a stone unturned in attaining top dollar. Overall, the process went very well. Steve and I visited and reviewed properties that he and I found from several web sites. It is a very competitive housing market - Steve would suggest different ways for me to submit offers based on the property and the seller that we are negotiating with. This is key in the buying process - each seller and property are different. Steve gave very good insights on properties that I was considering - he was honest on what he thinks would work with what I was looking for and which ones do not. During my home buying and selling process, Steve had to take time off. He introduced me to another realtor who took care of my transactions while he was away. Steve was there when I signed my closing document for the house I bought, and when I signed the documents for selling my townhouse. He was there from the start until the end of the process and continues to keep in touch. Outstanding customer service!

The purchase was a difficult transaction to put together for several reasons.: we still owned another home, the home we wanted to purchase was a foreclosure with some repair issues, and was also a very unique property on acreage. Steve walked us through every part of each process and made sure we always understood what was happening, or what steps we needed to take. We could not have asked for a more kind, honest, attentive, knowledgeable gentleman to work with. We highly recommend his services.

From initial call to after my home sold Steve was in close contact with us, going what I would consider above and beyond. We called Steve and said that we wanted to sell our home but weren't ready just yet. Steve stated that if we would like he would come by and go over with us how the market was doing to include looking at our home to help us get ready for the market. Steve came by and done as stated then said for us to give him a call when we were ready. Never any pressure. We called Steve on a Monday to let him know that we were ready for the market, thinking it would be a few days. Steve called us back Monday night to inform us that our home was on the market. 13 days later home was sold. Job well done.

It went very smooth on both ends. Steve kept me informed of what steps we needed to take, timeline for open house, inspection and appraisal for both properties. He was easily accessible when i had questions about process or how to handle a certain situation. The home i purchased had an HOA and Steve took the extra steps to make sure that the HOA was managed well and was solid.

Our experience with Steve was outstanding.  He is the very best Realtor we've ever worked with.  He helped us over about a year identify things that could maximize value.  When it came time to list our home, Steve helped us stage the home and explained how the entire process would work.  When it just a few hours of listing we had people looking and in just a few days had our first offer...During the negotiations phase Steve helped with critical information that helped us decided that the first offer was not the best deal.  After another few days we had two more offers, which one was cash for full price.

He was reffered to us by a friend and i chose him because he told them to not buy one if the homes they were seriously considering. The honesty is what i needed when buying my first home. Working with Steve was a wonderful experience! 
He was steadfastly patient with our process, always positive but always honest. He was very knowledgable and was determined to teach us what to look for in a home, and what to look out for. To feel comfortable with the process. Some of the best advice he gave was actually when we first met, over dinner and drinks he told us we might find our house right away or it could be months or even longer, but not to give up. It could be a tough process and there might be frustration, but to keep to it and we'd find our home. It took us some time but we did stick to it and we did find it!  
We felt as if we had the best insider references to other professionals as well. We used the hardwood guy he referred and I don't think they could have turned out better!
Steve came to feel like family, someone to trust and depend on. We'll be recommending Steve Gray to any of our friends, family or acquaintances who may be in search of a home in the Portland area.

Steve did a great job. He provided valuable input about preparing the house for market and determining a fair but good price. He also arranged a showing schedule that minimized our inconvenience.There were several difficulties including contractors who left work unfinished and a death in the family. Steve was very tolerant and adaptable throughout. Steve is the best of the real estate agents with whom I have been involved.

This is the third property that Steve has represented us on. In this case we were a buyer but we have also had him help us sell a home. This market is a very difficult one. Houses are selling quickly and for way over the asking price in many cases. Steve is the consummate professional and in my opinion one of the best realtors around. His guidance and recommendations are invaluable. I would never use another realtor.

Steve Grey is awesome.  If ever we meet anyone in the area looking for an agent, we never hesitate to give out Steve's name and contact information.
After interviewing a total of 4 agents, we decided to ask Steve to be our buyer's agent.  As first time home buyers, Steve walked us through every step of the way, from educating us about financing to putting in an offer , home repairs and home ownership.  If I had to summarize his approach with us, it would be "I will take as much time as necessary to help you learn to recognize the right home for yourself."  We were pretty proactive in looking for new houses that hit the market on RMLS, and that approach worked out well for us.  
Some things that stick out about Steve from our relationship
1)  Love of helping his clients learn more (important, since we were first time home buyers)
2)  Honesty and respect for our decision making process:  Steve would tell us if he thought something was a great house that would likely fit our needs, but he never pressured us to buy a particular house.  Steve would also tell us if he had misgivings about a particular home.
3)  Depth of knowledge of the area and market (important, since we were had moved to Portland only recently).  Good amount of knowledge of home construction and potential warning signs.
4)  Availability:  For one-home showings, Steve somehow managed to be able to meet with us within a day or two, all the time.  In the fast housing market we are in, this was a huge deal.  This may have been due to the fact that we were looking during the off-peak season, but I was still impressed.
5)  Patience:  We must have walked through about 20-25 houses is the first 3-4 weekends as Steve let us take our time allow us to get to know the housing market and figure out our own needs and desires.  Then there were another 3 months of waiting for houses to come on the market and visiting any promising ones.
6)  Organization:  I came to our first set of home visits with a stack of RMLS printouts only to find that Steve had printed out a copy for us already, which was great.   And, when it came to closing, contracts, and negotiations, Steve made sure that everything was on track and on time.
7)  Good team for inspections + repairs:  I had read that it was really important to interview not just your real estate and mortgage agents but also your inspectors.  By the time we had gotten to the home inspection, we were so tired that we didn't really bother to interview anyone and just went with Steve's recommendations.  We are glad we did, since they were real professionals and were just as interested in educating their clients as Steve was.

Steve came out very promptly to do a market analysis on my mothers home just after my sisters and I moved my mother to a care center.  The next day I had a market analysis in my hands comparing our house to similar properties that had sold in our area.  I already had a figure in mind and Steve?s estimate was only $5000.00 off.  Steve didn?t blink an eye and took my estimate.

Within 30 days the house was sold at the asking price.   It doesn?t get any better than this. 

Steve did all the interaction with the appraiser, buyers representatives and the title company.  My interaction consisted of signing the final papers and picking up my check from the title company.

I cannot say enough about Steve?s professionalism and integrity.  I would not consider any other realtor if you are selling a house.

Our relationship with Steve started when I found out I would be laid off (out of state).  There was a possibility that I would get a job here with a major company, so during a vacation visit we found Steve on Angie's List and called to ask him to give us an overview of houses and neighborhoods.  He spent three hours with us, first educating us about the area, zoning, taxes, and types of houses and properties in the area, and then he drove us around to a few neighborhoods for us to get a look.  We were so impressed by Steve's thorough knowledge and friendly, professional attitude that we called him as soon as I got my new job.  Throughout the whole process Steve's knowledge of the industry and the area stood out clearly.  He knew the answer for every question (clearly stated), always got back to us promptly, used phone, texting and e-mail as appropriate to communicate and helped guide us through the offer and purchase process.  We worked with a few other realtors selling our house out of state and after our experiences with them, Steve's expertise and service clearly stood out as the best.  If we ever sell this house we will call Steve. His card says "Exceeding your Expectations" and he certainly did that for us. Steve came out very promptly to do a market analysis on my parents home just after my dad had passed away.It was an emotionally difficult time in our life. Steve was very understanding as well as professional. Steve had the report with a value on the house the same day. I also had to have a formal appraisal for the estate by a licensed and state certified appraiser which was required for the estate. It was amazing that the appraiser and Steve came in with the exact same value without any knowledge of Steve's market analysis in advance to the appraiser. I'am planning to sell one of my rental properties with steve representing me in the nearing future. Steve does his work very throughly and in a very timely manner with the utmost of integrity and professionalism. I have worked with lots of Realtors over the years, and he is on a entirely different level than the rest of them that i have encountered.  Steve guided us in preparing our house for sale and getting it on the market at the correct time.  Steve handled the entire process of marketing the home, setting the correct price, managing potential buyers, holding open houses, negotiating, handling offers, and closing the deal.  Steve did a great job of setting our expectations so there were no surprises.
Steve was our representative in purchasing a home under construction.  Steve has great experience and knowledge in the construction process, which was invaluable in handling many of the decisions that we needed to make and the normal differences that we had with the builder.
A good Realtor has skills in a broad range of areas.  Steve has them all.  Local market knowledge, marketing, finance, real estate laws and regulations, negotiation,  construction process, interpersonal skills, counselor/psychologist, etc.  We cannot say enough good things about Steve and our experience working with him.

Steve is embodies everything you could hope for in a realtor. He knows the Portland metro area like the back of his hand, provides sound counsel on contract negotiations, is polite but firm and works with well with other agents.  He was also excellent at helping my husband and I reconcile our disparate "wants" list for our new home and showed us places that we both liked that we might not have picked out to tour (in fact, we purchased one of those houses!).  Our purchase came with some unexpected twists and turns (as do most real estate transactions, so it seems), and Steve always remained calm and positive and had always had a plan "B" when things didn't go quite right.  Thank you, Steve!
