Services we offer

We offer residential and commercial roof replacements and low-slope roof restoration and inspections. When we provide roofing bids, we are able to bid for new gutters and our partner gutter company will perform the installation.

Services we don't offer

Currently, we do not perform or estimate roof repairs. We do not offer gutter cleaning or gutter services alone. We don't install new concrete and other types of TILE roofs and we don't service current tile roofs. We are, however, able to remove tile roofs and dispose of them in preparation for a different type of roofing material. We install new metal roofs, but do not repair existing ones by other installation companies.

Called Dave for an estimate as well as two other roofing contractors. His was not the lowest bid, but IMO his inspection was the most thorough. He walked the entire roof as opposed to just viewing and measuring from the ground. Job took two days. Started when promised/scheduled, cleaned up debris (even in the adjacent trees), inspected completed work. Went through the rainy season, no problems at all. Roof looks great. Though I have no experience with other roofing contractors other than with the estimate process, I have hired several contractors for other services such as plumbing, electrical, painting/siding. As far as I am concerned, this is the BEST contractor I have ever hired, in terms of attitude, responsiveness to a callback (for a perceived problem which was MY fault), and quality of work. Raindrop's ENTIRE staff is extremely pleasant to work with which is a tribute to the owner. Need a roof? Hire Raindrop.
Description of Work: Tear off existing roof, reroof with asphalt shingles, repair sheathing where necessary, install vents.

Salesperson was 25 minutes late to the appointment. He did call shortly before he was supposed to be at my house but I was on a tight schedule and because of his extreme lateness I had very limited time to talk to him. Along with this he had absolutely no physical information to provide me on the process, materials, guarantees, etc. Electronic format is fine, but they should then send it to you in ADVANCE so that you can study up before they get there and ask questions. He spent about 5 minutes tops on the roof, the shortest time I've ever had any one look at the roof out of all the folks who came out to do an estimate. He said he'd get back to me right away with an estimate, but it wasn't for 3 days and the estimate had both my first and last name misspelled, and no information included on color options or the recycling they claimed to offer. I asked for the spellings to be corrected and the other info, and got nothing besides being told to go to Certainteed's website to look up the colors and then was told it'd be "really hard" to recycle the construction materials (not true - a number of roofing companies do this). He didn't bother to even re-send the estimate with corrected spellings. I emailed back and said I would not be interested in using their services. He then emailed and said well actually they do recycle but for me that whole experience was less than stellar. Bid came in extremely low - $5,200 - which further worried me as most roofers would laugh at that price. I'm going with another roofer who costs more but gave me prompt attention, accurate information, and great service.

Kenny showed up on time in a company truck. He took plentiful notes, measured everything and stayed focused on analyzing my situation. He went into the attic (insisted on wearing a mold mask= a plus in my book), took down skylight models and more. The other two bidders had sat in their trucks for about 15 minutes each, then delivered a form-quote to me. That was nice, but I was more impressed that Kenny took a few days to put a lot of thought into my design and to check the prices thoroughly. It took about 6 weeks to schedual the project, which was fine since we were out of the rainy season. Kenny responded to all my numerous emails promptly, thoroughly and courteously . I am an electrical contractor and am probably a pain to have as a customer. I recognized the knowledge and quality of Raindrop right away. The office manager contacted my and answered any questions about the proposal. I was always in the loop. The crew left within 20 minutes of my wife and I arriving home from work each day. They seemed very caring about not disturbing us with noise or materials being left around. I don't know how they managed to clean up so fast ! The superintendent (I forget his name, sorry) was incredible. He was friendly, answered all my questions and put me at ease regarding the high level of his skills the very first day. My hats off to him. Every day I crawled up on the roof and inspected his work. (I am a contractor, remember). His work was exemplary . He even let me dispose of my torn-down shed in their drop box and explained how the raised roof worked. I never felt that I was bugging him or delaying his work with all of my questions. After the project was complete, I did a thorough inspection and found a few minor items that Raindrop took care of within 24 hours. Kenny even came out personally and put on some shingles for me on a side awning that I was repairing, as an apology for the few minor items that they had missed. All this AFTER I had already paid them ! A great company with highly skilled professionals that show great pride in their work. My hats off to the owner= great job !
Description of Work: The lack of proper attic ventilation in my 70s era home led to leaks and stains on our living room cedar ceiling, mold growth that affected our health and damaged items we had stored in the attic. The cathedral ceiling was a particularly thorny problem. There was only wet R19 fiberglass insulation, in contact with the roof sheathing and installed with no ventilation. Our cedar-plank ceiling was ruined, the attic was covered with mold and our health was affected. The skylights were starting to rot and every winter rainstorm found my wife and I scrambling to put out the drip buckets. I did a lot of internet research and realized that the lack of ventilation in the attic and the poorly installed insulation was the likely culprit. Armed with knowledge I contacted 3 roofers that I found on Angies list. Raindrop Roofing was about 20% higher than the other bids. But I was very impressed with the knowledge that Kenny (their estimator) had regarding my situation. He knew all about ridge venting, gable vent short circuits and the 40% / 60% venting ratio advised today. He totally blew me away with his concept of raising the roof on the one side of the house to create the needed ventilation. That area was blocked by my chimney and patio roof. Kenny found a way around this issue. In hindsight, my selection of Raindrop was well, well worth the additional money that I spent over the other roofers. I am very, very pleased with the work done :*New sheathing*New roofing*new skylights*Total ridge / soffit ventilation*Heat applied waterproof plastic roof on my patio cover* "Custom" mid-roof ventilation*Rigid insulation (with ventilation!) of R40 in the cathedral ceiling*All the extras I hadn't thought of: auto closing vents, vent chutes, replaced rotted boards, roped tarping to protect the plants, magnetic roller to pick up nails, covering my gable vents and more After seeing all the work ( a week), that went into this project, imagine my shock when the bill came in exactly as bid ! Very professional.

Workers arrived early in the day and worked steadily and professionally, finishing the work by late afternoon. Everything went smoothly: Plants were not damaged, the repairs were made with a high degree of craftsmanship, and we were quite satisfied.
Description of Work: We had a leak in one of our dormer roofs, as well as some dry rot in the fascia of the second dormer. An examination suggested that both dormer roofs were in need of replacement, and there were a few damages shingles elsewhere on the main roof. Finally, a small diverter needed to be installed at the bottom of a valley where water had a tendency to jump the gutter and fall to the edge of the foundation.

Raindrop Roofing repaired some work I had done by a previous roofer. Our roof was new and ended up leaking. Raindrop was able to diagnose the previous roofers errors and repair completely. I had to get some further documentation from them months down the road and Dave gave to me without a question and was very helpful.

There was some initial confusion about the quote for the work, but the firm quickly alerted me that they would stand by the earlier (lower) quote. The job was completed in about an hour, and the color match of the shingles was very acceptable.

Did excellent work, and had great communication. I was impressed that the they used steel valleys, in all the valleys, and that they used appropriately colored (oven baked paint) flashings. Many companies cut corners on these detais and result in a inferior end product that does not last as long. Communication was great, and the fact that they offered an extended warranty was nice. Communication was excellent through all parts of the project. We had three quotes and Raindrop roofing was within $50 of the lowest quote, and $1000 less then the most expensive. I thought the price as well as value was excellent.

I called Raindrop Roofing NW early on a friday after we discovered a leak in our roof. I left my information with the office and they said they would have someone get back to me. 45 minutes later they were able to call back, and said they could be available later in the day. They called me back as per our agreement on the phone and let me know a half hour before they were going to be able to come. Oscar showed up at our house, identified the issue and gave us a quote to fix the issue on our roof. I had him proceed wit h the work. He left to get materials, returned shortly after and finished in 20 minutes or so and was able to fix the issue. He showed me the problem part and patiently answered my questions. I am really pleased overall.

Kenny was very knowledgeable and informative when he was doing estimate. The crew that came over to do the work did a great job. THey were fast and efficient We love our new roof.
Description of Work: Raindrop tore off our old roof and replaced it with much higher quality one. They also improved the ventilarion in attic. We got 3 estimates and they were in line with competitors. We chose them because they were most straightforward in their recommendationsd and because they had the best solution for our ventilation issues.

Kenny : Met me for the initial inspection and estimate (bid) on the roof replacement. He was there at the appointed time and was very professional. He clearly explained the materials to be used, roof installation and venting systems recommended and product warrantees. The estimate was well written, complete, concise and highly detailed. A few revisions were made promptly (for additional options) per my request. The conditions and options I selected for the job were very clearly stated in the proposal. Dave : Followed up setting realistic expectations for timing. He gave me prompt responses to all questions. Very good communications about possible logistical issues. Also forwarded information about minor issue with dry rot on one sheet of plywood (I expected more than just the one sheet). Nick : Was onsite to supervise and coordinate. He walked the finished roof to approve of the work. He found some flashing that he decided needed some additional work and got that done immediately. They left my house/yard clean and tidy, there were no issues after the job was finished. Hortensia : Sent the invoice once job was finished (it was exactly as expected) and promptly verified receipt of payment. The total cost was exactly as expected.
Description of Work: Raindrop Roofing NW did a tear off of the old roof and replaced it with CertainTeed Landmark Architectural Shingles (240lb), replaced flashing, vents and skylight. The system included ridge venting and additional intake venting as well as Winterguard membrane, 30# felt was used. This was a 2nd story roof using 24.334 squares. Includes manufacturer warantees and 10 yr Raindrop Roofing Workmanship Warranty. Communication, work, follow up ... all excellent. I felt as thought I knew what was happening and what I should expect at all times. They did a great job, with no suprises, no problems.

If we could give an extra plus to the A+ we would. Received a very informative estimate from Kenny with Raindrop. We received 5 other estimates. Their quote was right in the middle at $12,909.00. One company was at $24,000. They were very professional from start to finish. They kept us informed as the project progressed through some tough weather (rain & wind). All of the employees were very efficient and careful. Cleanup was very good. The company that is used to handle the the drop box also deserves credit for their job. We unexpectadly had some materials in the driveway that coud not be moved. The driver had a very tight path to the drop location but he maneuvered it very carefully and spent quite a bit of time getting the large container in. From start to finish we were very happy with every aspect of the job.
Description of Work: We had a cedar shingle roof about 2700 sq. ft. We wanted to go to a Presidential Shake ll Shingle. This required a complete tearoff and a new substrate installed for the new shingles. Venting was updated to 4 single vents over garage and ridge vents over the 2 ridges. The ridge vents replaced 6 single vents that were eliminated.

They were the best experience I've had with a contractor ever. The estimator was very knowledgable and detail oriented. Explained all possible choices and cost benefits, or lack there of. The crew were efficient and respectful of our house and gardening. One guy had a good singing voice too. The price was very fair and we were able to deal comfortably with a few unexpected surprises that came up, and they didn't just dump the expenses on us. We get a lot of compliments on the roof, now.

Kenny answered all of our questions and gave us a fair bid. We decided on Raindrop Roofing on Thursday, August 4th and faxed a signed contract to Raindrop. The next day the roof was removed, plywood and felt was applied, and shingles delivered. The yard was being cared for very well, and the cleaning process seemed to be continuous. On Monday the roof was put on and it looks great. We are delighted with the total outcome. Clean yard with little or no damage, a new and attractive roof and skylights and a professional, nice crew doing the work. We asked for gutter diverters at the base of our valleys and a day or so later Nick and Jaime came by and finished the job and checked everything leaving us with a nicely completed project. I would highly recommend this company.

The spacers were put in to allow for adequate ventilation. We had several estimates done before choosing Raindrop. They were the only ones that suggested a proper ventilation solution. Most companies didn't even suggest a way to solve the ventilation issue. They planned to leave it as is. We had done our research and knew what needed to be done to prevent rot in our attic. In addition to their technical expertise they were also responsive, punctual and professional. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

Raindrop did a great job on our new roof. Their price was competitive with other bids that we received from other companies on Angie’s List. My wife and I heartily recommend Raindrop as a good company to work with. We found Kenny to be very responsive, helpful and professional and also found Omar and his crew to be both extremely hard working and pleasant to speak with throughout the process.
Description of Work: Though our previous roof on our 1920 home was about 18 years old and had only one layer of shingles, Kenny Courtney, Raindrop's Roofing Consultant, convinced us that the best way to go was to do a full tear down including new plywood above all livings areas so a proper ventilation system could be installed. Though it increased the cost of the job, proper ventilation had three critical advantages: 1) We should get full warranty coverage on our shingles as shingle damage from poor ventilation can result in voiding the warranty 2) a much cooler upstairs during the summer. (I estimate that we’ve had at least a 15 degree drop in 2nd floor temperatures due to good ventilation.) 3) The roof now fully conforms to all Portland building codes. During teardown dry rot was found under the roof eave along the entire north side of our home. This was replaced with new cedar tongue and groove at a fair additional price. Additionally, some cracking and minor damage in our lathe and plaster ceilings in the upstairs occurred during the roof installation. Upon completion of the roof installation, Raindrop had one of their contractors fix the damage in a single day at no additional charge. Again, the work was excellent. Last but not least, the final cleanup was thorough and left our shrubs and landscaping both undamaged and free of any sign of roofing materials. Our leaf guard gutters remained untouched throughout the roofing process.

We had an excellent experience from start to finish. Our 18 year old tile roof system was doing a gradually poorer job of moving water into the gutters, due to older construction methods on a shallow-sloped roof. This was resulting in leaking thru seams in the overhanging eaves during periods of heavy rain. Kenny provided us with great service. Everything was done promptly, from the first return phone call, thru bidding, and during the work. Kenny provided us suggestions on the type of shingle, came by several times to provide additional sample, recommended a venting approach, and numerous other details. The bid price was competitive with several other bids I received. The crew was courteous and professional and the job was completed in five days, as estimated. I highly recommend Raindrop Roofing.

I got bids from several roofing companies. Raindrop's quote was somewhere in the middle. I selected them based on two primary reasons: a) Kenny, who came out to do the bid, did the most thorough job of examining the roof and attic and discussing and explaining ventilation options and the pros and cons of each; b) the customers I spoke with who had used the company spoke glowingly of the quality of their roofing jobs and of the employees' professionalism on the job. I also spoke with Ryan, the owner of the company, to discuss ventilation options. This was my first roofing experience, and I was pretty nervous about the whole thing -- particularly because it was taking place in the spring, where we would have sun followed by rain followed by more sun and then some wind. Kenny (and Javier, the on-site supervisor) did a good job of keeping me informed of progress, and the guys kept the house thoroughly protected from potential damage during the bad weather. I am very pleased with the outcome -- both the garage roof and house roofs look fantastic -- and the team did a pretty darned good job of cleaning up after themselves each day. When they left for good I think I found one nail and a scrap of wood, which considering all the junk involved in two tear-offs was pretty impressive. I would definitely recommend this company.

When I initially called a week in advance of the appointment, Dave, the new guy, answered the phone. He did not know if they installed skylights. He did not know if they could come on the date I requested. He said he would call me back. He did call back & set up an appointment between 10 AM -1 PM on the date I had requested. I took the day off from work and waited. I called them at 1:10 PM to make sure they were still coming. I was informed that Dave never put the appointment on the list for the tech who was supposed to come out. He said he would like to reschedule and after calling the tech, said he could get them out later that same afternoon. I waited until after 3:30 PM and when Javier arrived, he dutifully followed me all over the house while I explained what I wanted. When we arrived back in the entry hall, he informed me that he knew nothing about skylights and would have the tech that handles skylights call me and set up another appointment. No one ever called. I cannot give them a complete F for a grade because initially they did apologize for the missing appointment and were able to get someone out the same day.

Overall it went very well. They started on Monday & were 99% finished by Wed evening. During the tear off & installation I had various questions which Kenny patiently answered. There were minor issues which I shared with Kenny. Some of the issues are behind us while others I've been promised will be addressed. For example, I didn't expect the workers to be hammering late into the evenings (approx 8pm). Minor problems included not covering the plant life, minor damage to the gutters (which they thought was going to be replaced right away), minor paint damage to a window border & siding (which Kenny is arranging to have them repaint). In addition I'm finding a small number of nails & sharp metal pieces in the grass & around the yard (which Kenny is arranging to have his crew come back & do a more thorough walk through). I am very pleased with my choice of roofers and their work. Obviously, only time & a few rainy seasons will really show just how well the work was done.
Description of Work: I've been looking for a roofer for over a year & had many of the major players come out to provide an estimate. Raindrop (Kenny) was the first company to tell me that due to the current roof composition, the new roof with it's plywood foundation was going to cause major ventilation problems. He also picked up on how my main floor bathroom was venting into the attic & not oustide the roof. He explained the various solutions, costs, etc. After researching the company on Angies List, along with the usual contractor checks, I accepted their bid "the REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF THE EXISTING ROOF SYSTEM (HOUSE): using 15.334 squares of new CERTAINTEED LANDMARK (240LB) LIFETIME ARCHITECTURAL SHINGLES with 10yr Surestart Protection for defective shingles. The above roof assembly will be installed in accordance to manufacturers specifications, includes all materials and labor to install the roof assembly, and disposal of all debris. We contacted three roofing companies for estimates; all of them rated high on Angie?s listed. The estimates ranged from approximately $7,500 to nearly $9,000 for the same twenty-three squares job. We know the conventional wisdom is to be wary of low bid companies. In this case, we checked them out and found all contractors to be equally competent. We choose RAINDROP ROOFING, the low bidder. We were very pleased with the professionalism of the salesman, management, job supervisor and the three roofers who worked on our home. They were punctual and made every effort to protect the deck, shrubbery and flowerbeds surrounding the house. The tear-off, sheeting and felting were done in one day. The new shingles were applied and cleanup was completed on the second day. The job supervisor, Javier Cabrera was on site at the beginning of the first day to introduce himself and give instructions to the three-men crew. He returned several times to inspect progress and to answer questions. He was available on the second day as well. Upon completion, the roofers thoroughly cleaned up the work site. Other than a brand new roof, vents, etc., they left no evidence they had been here. It was very easy doing business with Raindrop Roofing and we are happy to recommend them to friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: The shake roof on our personal residence was nearing the end of life expectancy, but not yet leaking. We decided to re-roof as preventative maintenance. The old shake roof was removed. All existing vents were replaced and a few more added. Roof sheeted with 1/2 inch plywood Installed felt underlayment Waterproofing membrane laid around chimney and vent pipes New flashings New gas vent pipe 23 squares of 140 lbs. architectural shingles applied

Raindrop Roofing came out last fall, at my request, because I was concerned about an area of my roof where the asphalt was crumbling. The estimator told me that although that particular valley looked bad, it was unlikely to result in a leak, due to flashing and multiple layers of roofing. This set my mind at ease, and I appreciate the honesty (as versus a dishonest contractor who tries to sell you to do work that is not needed). Fast forward to Spring of this year. Winter weather had knocked off and/or worn away asphalt tabs in two places on my roof. Raindrop Roofing sent out their estimator, Ken, who spent an extensive amount of looking at my roof and answering my questions. He even came back when I expressed concerns that there was an additional area that needed to be addressed. Once I read and signed the contract, I was scheduled within a couple of days. I told the company I had time constraints and they made the effort to fit my project in fast. Their roofer (I forget his name) came out and did the work, from start to finish, in one hour. He was very professional. I would use this company again. I did think that $245 was a bit pricy for one hour's worth of work (it wasn't even necessary to build scaffolding) but I also think it's worth paying a premium to get work done fast and well.
Description of Work: Replace asphalt tabs on steeply pitched roof.

They seemed very professional and very knowledgeable. They were very helpful sort of working through the bid process. We went a lot of back and forth about getting out exactly what we were going to have done. They were very good about responding to questions and giving alternative ideas of things to do and stuff like that. The quote was for $9000. I have a good impression of them. I would consider them for a quote in the future.
Description of Work: I got a quote from Raindrop Roofing.
