Services we offer

We offer residential and commercial roof replacements and low-slope roof restoration and inspections. When we provide roofing bids, we are able to bid for new gutters and our partner gutter company will perform the installation.

Services we don't offer

Currently, we do not perform or estimate roof repairs. We do not offer gutter cleaning or gutter services alone. We don't install new concrete and other types of TILE roofs and we don't service current tile roofs. We are, however, able to remove tile roofs and dispose of them in preparation for a different type of roofing material. We install new metal roofs, but do not repair existing ones by other installation companies.

We had a pesky leak that seemed to be coming in where an addition had been made to the house. James, the Raindrop roofer, had to climb around in the attic to determine the real source. He found it and although it was not just a roof problem, he fixed the roof and has made it possible for us to go through the winter before having to have the chimney repaired. Without him, we would not have known what to do. So thank you, James!

I obtained four estimates, all from Angie's List A-rated companies which had done work recently in my neighborhood. From the reviews, this was the company I hoped to be able to choose. It was hard to compare the estimates since each company specified a different brand or type of shingle as well as different price structure for unanticipated issues. Raindrop's base estimate was among the highest. However, they were the only company whose estimator went all the way into my attic - only one other person even looked at my attic and he just stood at the top of my pull down ladder - which only allows one to see the area above a converted garage. Also, they were the only company that followed up on their estimate - I received phone calls from both the estimator and the office manager - which gave me the opportunity to get some clarification and I was able to assure myself that their price was competitive. They were able to start work within a week of my acceptance. The crew worked incredibly hard during our January cold-snap, made the most of the limited hours of daylight, and everyone seemed to know exactly what they were supposed to be doing. They were done in about 2-1/2 days, even though they had to replace 40 sheets of plywood, which took most of the first day. The extra plywood and labor cost almost $500 less than it would have using the pricing structure from one of the other estimates - so they definitely ended up being competitive price-wise. Everyone I dealt with at Raindrop was personable and professional. I even got an email from one of my neighbors complementing the way the crew worked. I believe I got a great job with high quality materials for a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Had a full tear off and replacement of house roof (2 layers) plus garage and shed (1 layer).

They were OK. The consultant - the guy that actually came out an did the estimate - were pretty on top of it and got me an estimate back quickly. Only complaint that I have is about the way they did their scheduling. During the time of the estimate, when we asked them about how long it would take before they get to us. We were told they would probably get to us within the next week, so we signed the contract with them. By that time we were pretty much locked in with them and we kept getting calls from somebody in their office saying that they didn't finish this job and we ended up waiting another week and a half after the original time line. Other that they did a good job on the roof. The only other thing I can complain about was just that they stretched a two day job out into about five days. On one day they showed up at about noon and worked for three of four hours, and then the next day they didn't show up at all. The next day they showed up at seven a.m. and worked for six hours. If you are going to use them, maybe get it mailed out in writing of when they actually are going to start the project. They rescheduled with me right before the holidays, but I had to go through their answering services and everything to get a call back about when they actually were going to come, because they didn't show up when they were supposed to the first time. We had some other contractors scheduled to come in and finish the interior part of the ceiling that was damaged. So it was kind of hard to co-ordinate that. Other than that, they did a pretty good job. They were not the cheapest, but I think they were more truthful than the other ones. The crew were all Spanish speaking, so it was hard to communicate with them. But besides that, they were professional.

Raindrop was incredibly professional. Everything they did from the moment they came out to complete a bid to the follow-up on little details afterword could not have been done any better. The homeowners in the building where the roof was replaced were very impressed by the courtesy shown by the workers. Every day there was an end of shift walk about the building where they picked up any scrap or items that may have fallen off the roof. During the work day they made sure our landscaping was protected. There have been a couple issues that have come up since the roof install with the new venting that was installed. Raindrop made sure they were handled within 24 hours of reporting it, even though that meant coming out on a Saturday to effect repair. We are very impressed.
Description of Work: We had Raindrop do a complete tear off and replacement of roof on one of our eight unit buildings. They replaced all rot on any supports and installed new venting units on all four of our buildings.

Description of Work: I have nothing but positive things to say about this company- absolute professionalism from the estimate all the way to completion of the job. Raindrop tore off the original roof (cedar shingles buried under 4 layers of asphalt) on our 1910 home down to the skip boards, then installed a conventional 30 year composite roof with eave and ridge vents on top of 2" of rigid poly-iso insulation. They also installed 2 Velux skylights, demolished the chimney above the roofline, added new fascia boards needed due to increased depth of the roof with 2" of rigid insulation and rehung the gutters. Kenny was a joy to work with- I felt that his estimate was more in-depth and careful than other estimates I had. He was also an essential resource when I was trying to determine the overall insulating strategy for our 2nd story remodel. I changed my mind about 5 times on what insulating materials we were going to use and whether or not to use the rigid board underneath the roof- and his response was the same every time: "No problem, you only get one chance to get this right." I'd say that about sums up the mentality of this company- do things the right way the first time. 3eThey were also very careful protecting the house and surrounding landscape during the tear-off, and hauled away a small mountain of debris (the majority of which was going to be recycled). There was one small issue with one of the gutters about 4 months after the job was completed. I called Kenny and he arranged to have their gutter guy come out right away to fix it at their cost. These guys are awesome!

This was a relatively painless experience. James arrived slightly early on the day of the estimate. The initial inspection was over in about 15-20 minutes, at which time I was presented with photos of the problem areas. I received the proposal that evening. The work was locked in when I returned a scan of the signed proposal via email. I received an acknowledgement from the office and informed that I would be contacted soon about the scheduling of the work. I received a voice message within two days that notified me of the work date. That was to be the following Thursday. I then received a call on Monday from the installer, James again, that the work could be moved up to Tuesday. All in all, the communication was great, and there was a desire to get the work completed quickly. This was appreciated. The work started on time, and from all that I can see was exactly as quoted. Arranging payment was easy as I received an invoice by email.

Our experience with Oscar at Raindrop Roofing was good. I called for a quote and Oscar was able to come do an inspection within the week. In about another week, he provided a very reasonable quote. I asked that he specifically be the one to do the repairs, and within days the work was done. They did a good job cleaning up after the project, and we are happy with the work. We would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

We were under a time crunch due to closing on the sale of our house ion mid-December. We called Raindrop Roofing the week before Thanksgiving and they provided an estimator to come out within a few days of the phone call. The company happily accommodated us in their busy schedule to get the job done in a timely fashion. We were pleased with everyone we spoke with in person when we had questions about the project. The employees clearly endeavor to provide quality customer service.

Nice professional people, however the scheduling agreements were not kept. Took around 1 month to get the work done from the signing of the contract. I needed to initiate the communication. Company did not adhere to repair schedule as agreed to on the contract. Poor follow through and communication but would return my calls quickly. Company appeared to be too busy and short handed. Quality of work appears to be good. I would use them again if they would quarantee adhering to a timeframe on which we agreed.

Received bids from 4 companies selected Raindrop because they had the best plan to correct attic ventilation problems. Kenny Courtney from the company included in the bid adding edge vents and 5 more soffit vents. They started and completed the job in a timely manner. Their price was not the lowest bid we received but it was the most inclusive. We would hire them again for a roofing job.
Description of Work: Had a 4,500 sq ft roof replaced. They started the job on time and completed it in a little over 5 days. Raindrop also did all the repair work specified in the contract. They cleaned up the job site and removed all debris.

The scope of our roofing project was a big one. My home was built in 1954, the roof had a 2-12 pitch (very low) and was never vented. We had 5 different roofers come out to look at the project and give estimates. We choose RAINDROP Roofing NW based of Kenny's knowledge and expertise, he was not intimidated by the complexity of the job. (2 roofers we had come out did not want to touch it) he set our mind at ease and assured us that they were up for the challenge. The roof was a complete tear off, then the process of repairs, followed by 2 1/2 inches of poly insulation, 1"x3" furring strips, 1/2" plywood, ice and water shield over entire roof, under laments and shingles. They also installed metal attic roof vents at the ridge line for exhaust ventilation. Installed new continuous intake screen vents at the eaves for a properly balanced ventilation system, as well as all new vent pipes. Several issues came up along the way and were immediately resolved through good communication. Nick, project supervisor and Kenny (estimator) were on top of each issue. Although there was rain during this time they completed the project in a timely manner. Their attention to detail was impeccable. We were very please by their response to questions and concerns. At the end of the project Kenny came back out and walked the project with me. He wanted to make sure that I was completely satisfied with the work performed and that I was happy. Overall the experience was a good one and we are thrilled with our new roof! We highly recommend Raindrop Roofing NW.

We're happy with Raindrop's work. Our roof is steep with several dormers and angles, so we knew a new roof might be expensive and time consuming. Raindrop's estimate was reasonable (second lowest of the four we got) and the final cost matched the estimate. Raindrop was good about communicating with us about how to prepare. The project started a few days late because the heat wave slowed down other jobs (understandable that they couldn't have people on a hot roof all day in 90+ degree weather). They sent updates a couple of times once they started. They could have been better about letting us know the status when they hadn't finished by Friday--we weren't sure if they were returning over the weekend or on Monday--but that was minor. We appreciated Raindrop's integrity. They thought they broke a small windowpane, so they notified us and fixed it the next day. They could have let it slide and we wouldn't have known for a long time given the location of the window (in a closet). We offered to pay for the repair because it's possible it was already like that, but they never charged us. A couple of weeks after they finished, we noticed a small piece of siding was cracked where flashing was added and there were some roofing material drips on the sides of the house that had affected the paint. We asked if there was anything they could do, and they sent someone out who repaired the siding, cleaned off the drips, and touched up the paint. The B for responsiveness is only because they didn't actually answer our email before or after sending someone. We only knew they came out because one of us happened to be leaving the house and saw them; otherwise we might not have known to look for the repairs. Raindrop was responsive with what really counted, however: making those minor fixes when we brought it to their attention. We were at work while they were there, but our neighbor made a point of telling us the workers were friendly and polite, and even cleaned out her garage gutters while they were putting the new roof on our garage.
Description of Work: Raindrop Roofing removed the existing roof on the house and garage and completely reroofed both. They also installed a new ridge vent system.

Three calls in three days, just to try to get an estimate or even a call back? REALLY? Maybe the hole in our roof wasn't a priority for them, but their laziness resulted in another contractor not only getting the repair but very likely an entire re-roof job.

Response from Raindrop Roofing NW
I would like to apologize to the Member for his time and any frustration we may have caused in this. This is not how we normally operate. The Member called in on a Friday for a non-leaking repair quote. He called again Monday after he had sent in photos, and then again on Tuesday. Someone in the office spoke with him each time. Our part time receptionist told him he would receive a call the same day but unknown to her the repairman was overwhelmed with calls and repairs and failed to meet this obligation. The Member did not receive a call from our repairman until Tuesday in which he apologized and was prepared to squeeze the repair quote into his schedule but found that the Member had already had another estimate and was getting it taken care of. The office also called him on Tuesday and apologized I suspect after this report was submitted but before it had been posted. Again I am sorry about not keeping our promise to call you on the same day and I hope your repair is finished and was well done!

I was initially told it would be about 10 days before I would be contacted by the estimator but it was only a few days. The estimator, Oscar was very nice and professional. He showed up exactly when he said he would. He gave me an estimate, which I accepted and signed the contract (on his i-pad) on the spot. He told me he would have his crew out the next day or the next weekend, he was to call to let me know. 2 weeks later I had heard nothing so I called, asking if I was on the schedule. It took me nearly a month to get scheduled and then only after I said I would look for other estimates if they didn't have time to do the work. Once scheduled, they showed up on time and did a good job. I was going to write them a check for the work on the spot but the installer said they don't collect the money and suggested I call the office to pay by phone. I immediately called the office but was told I could not yet pay because they didn't have the report back from the installers to confirm there hadn't been any additional work done. I received an email about a week later with the final billing so I called the same number again. This time a man answered (I would not call him a gentleman) who was almost rude. He was quite uninterested in my call, told me I had reached some other office and acted as if I was inconveniencing him. I asked if I had reached Raindrop Roofing and he said "yes" but again told me he wouldn't help me. He offered no explanation and I finally hung up because the conversation was pointless and he refused to give me any information on how to pay my bill. I waited a few days and tried again. This time I got the same young lady I had initially spoken to. She was very nice and tried to be helpful. I explained that this was my third call and I just wanted to pay my bill. She put me on hold while she pulled the file and then, very sheepishly, explained that she was aware I had not been told that there was a charge to pay by phone. I asked her if there was going to be an additional charge since I hadn't been advised and she said "yes". She said that they always charge extra to take credit cards because of the bank fees. I was very frustrated and told her that I was not going to pay extra in order to pay them, that I would put a check in the mail and they would just have to wait for their money. I ended the call. A couple of days later, I got a very lengthy email from Raindrop Roofing, detailing why I should pay the extra charge. They seemed to think I intended to NOT pay them but I never said that. I did not even read the whole thing because it was so long. I answered and very simply advised that I had already mailed them a check. I said that I was satisfied with the work, but scheduling and paying them was too difficult and I don't appreciate the manner in which they conduct the administrative side of their business. I just received (10 days later) an email confirming the payment. I believe Raindrop Roofing is a company that does good work, they just don't have a good handle on the adminstrative side of their business. First I had to beg them to put me on the schedule and then beg them to take my money... ridiculous!
Description of Work: Removed shingles around 2 skylights, removed and replaced 1 sheet of 7/16" OSB sheathing that had dry rot, installed felt paper and new shingles, supposedly to match (they don't really), install new metal flashings at both skylights. I called Raindrop to come give me an estimate for my roof. Our schedules didn't work out, but the guy that came out (kevin?) was SO helpful. He spent some time answering our questions and shared some of his expertise. Even though he knew that they weren't going to do the job, he was very attentive and just a really nice guy. Very professional. At the very least, I highly recommend getting a bid from these guys.

The whole process went very well from estimation to installation. The office staff is very responsive to questions and kept us informed about when our project would be scheduled. The installation crew arrived on time on the date scheduled and got right to work covering the area around the house to protect landscaping from debris. They pulled their trailer into the driveway to facilitate debris collection. The crew worked really hard and the project was completed efficiently. When the project was completed, there were a few shingle sections that did not match the color of the rest of the roof - Raindrop contacted the shingle manufacturer because it was a shingle quality issue. A second Raindrop Roofing crew came back and removed the problematic shingles and replaced them. We were very happy with how they worked with us to ensure the roof installation met our expectations and it did - thank you Ryan and Raindrop Roofing. We were very happy with the subcontractor who installed our gutters and with the mason Raindrop referred us to so we could have work done on our chimney.

I called Raindrop today to ask for an estimate for a small leak in my roof. Within 1 hour an estimator was at my house and on my roof taking a look. After having three other companies tell me that I needed to replace my whole roof, Raindrop looked closely and found a small hole in a shingle and repaired it on the spot, for free. I was amazed at the service level and will definitely have them come back when it's time to replace the whole roof.

I called Raindrop when I wanted an estimate on replacing the north facing section of my roof and had had a very good experience with them years ago so I did not get other bids. I asked Kenny to give me a bid on replacing one section, two sections and the whole roof. He provided me with the bid after a few days. I decided to go with replacing the whole roof and ended up putting on a metal roof because it would last my lifetime and I penciled it out and it was more cost effective in my case. Even though I had already signed Raindrop's bid to replace my entire roof with asphalt shingles, I asked Kenny to give me a bid for a metal roof, which he did. The crew that came to put on my metal roof were great. They were highly professional and very nice. They were always in a good mood and very much respected my requests to be careful of my plants and bees as they worked. Communication was excellent throughout the job and the crew worked every day until the job was done, which took 6 days. Raindrop met all of my highest standards on communication, doing what they said they would do and the quality of their workmanship. Kenny and the whole crew were completely professional and respectful. I would be happy to be a reference for Raindrop anytime.
Description of Work: Raindrop tore off the old asphalt roof and installed a metal roof. They replaced all plywood decking that needed replacing and they removed the part of my brick chimney that extended above the roof.

Raindrop Roofing was excellent to work with in every way. One of the reasons we chose them in the first place is that they have replaced about 25 roofs in our neighborhood, and everyone raved about the company; not one person had had any negative experience with them. The homes were built in the late 50's and early 60's. Ours was heavily moss damaged and we were getting moisture damage under the eaves but had no idea where it was coming from. We had tried replacing the gutters before deciding we really had to replace the roof. The estimate: Raindrop gave us a complete estimate with explanations of everything, and there were no surprises or add-ons later. Promptness: They showed up right when they said they would, both for the estimate and for the actual work. Quality & Professionalism: Both the materials and the workmanship were top notch. Every member of the crew was skillful and experienced and knew what they were doing. They were extremely focused and efficient -- no standing around waiting for directions. They were careful not to damage any of the plants around the house when they tore off the old roof, and careful to remove all of the debris. Of course there were small pieces that we continued to find for a while, but it was spotless compared to what a friend of ours experienced during his re-roofing job! We had expected to have to nurse the plantings back to health; they were fine. We did have one interesting twist: the new vents were metal, and there was a new one right over our bedroom. It rains a lot in Portland, and we have a big tree that drops huge raindrops even after the rain ends. And it was loud! Loud enough to wake us up. After trying to get used to it, I called the company to see what could be done. Two days later we had new vent covers! At no extra cost! These were a composite of some sort and all is peaceful and quiet, even when it rains. It's been over two years now since we had our roof done; I've waited to comment because I believe in the value of "the test of time." Raindrop definitely earned our trust. It's sort of ironic that we most likely won't use them again, because this roof will last longer than we will!
Description of Work: Replaced the roof shingles Replaced roof plywood that had rot in a section of the roof Added the proper number of vents to protect the warranty of the shingles (there's a ratio of vents/square feet required by the manufacturer, and if you have fewer than that, your 50-year guarantee gets reduced to 10 or so -- a potential big deal!) Protected all the flowers, shrubs, landscaping, etc. Cleaned up thoroughly afterwards

We were told that the job would take 4-5 days once they began. We waited quite a while for the job to begin. On the appointed day of beginning a very large delivery truck arrived with plywood and other materials. No Raindrop employees were present to direct placement of the materials ( I had not been told that they were coming or where to place materials so I used my judgement), Then another delivery of materials, still no Raindrop. two supervisors came by to say hello and measure the roof for the metal roofing supplier who had arrived with his metal bending trailer and proceeded to make the roofing onsite which was quite interesting. That was day 1. Once the crew of 3 arrived on day 2 there was real fast progress with tear off of part of the roof and spacers and new sheeting.During tear off they placed sheets of plywood against the house to form a chute for dropping materials onto the tarps placed on the ground. This created a great deal of dust that covered everything in the vicinity as well as rubbing the paint off the areas the plywood touched. Since this time I have been using a magnet on a stick to pick up dropped nails and staples from the area that the crew failed to pick up.(surprisingly large quantities) I had some questions about how the work was being done - this resulted in removal of sections and redoing the work. Instead of 4 days it took about 3 weeks. To give Raindrop credit, they have gone out of their way to address my concerns and to make the job right. They have done this despite the cost. The main reason for the long duration of the job seems to have been waiting on replacement materials. We chose Raindrop based on the Angies reviews and the cost. We have since learned that the crew leader on this job no longer works with Raindrop. Today, October 3, the roof is complete. Raindrop came through and made some adjustments to the work and we are quite happy with what they have done.
Description of Work: Tear off and remove old roof consisting of asphalt shingles and cedar shingles underneath. Add spacers for ventilation under new sheeting.30 pound felt and install standing seam metal roofing.

We were very pleased with the work performed by Raindrop Roofing. We experienced a leak through our ceiling earlier in the year after very heavy rains. My husband was able to temporarily stop the leak himself with a patch product; however, we wanted to be sure we called in the professionals to get the job done right and for the long-term. Raindrop Roofing arrived as scheduled and performed what appears to be an excellent job replacing a section of our roof (it hasn't rained since the work was done). Too, I must say that we asked Raindrop Roofing to handle a job that I'm sure they aren't asked to do often. The sun really bakes the west side of our house, which resulted in several areas of our house needing to be calked and painted. We didn't have a ladder tall enough to reach the higher areas, and asked Dave if Raindrop Roofing could help us out, which they did! Dave, Ryan and Jason were not only very professional, but very nice guys to work with. We will use Raindrop Roofing in the future for any roofing needs we have. Thanks, Dave, Ryan and Jason!
Description of Work: Repaired leaky roof, which included replacing a section of our roof. Also caulked and painted several areas on the west side of our house.
