Services we offer
We offer residential and commercial roof replacements and low-slope roof restoration and inspections. When we provide roofing bids, we are able to bid for new gutters and our partner gutter company will perform the installation.
Services we don't offer
Currently, we do not perform or estimate roof repairs. We do not offer gutter cleaning or gutter services alone. We don't install new concrete and other types of TILE roofs and we don't service current tile roofs. We are, however, able to remove tile roofs and dispose of them in preparation for a different type of roofing material. We install new metal roofs, but do not repair existing ones by other installation companies.
n/a ***UPDATE*** I received a personal call from the CEO who wanted to apologize & take responsibility for what happened. While it doesn't change the fact that they never showed, I changed my rating from F to C on the overall score & an A for professionalism. We are all human & mistakes happen. Its when mistakes go unaddressed or when they are ignored is when fault must be found. Gabe was sincerely sorry and sent me a written note stating as such. Based on the professionalism of this person willing to own up the the problem, I may consider using them in the future if I need a roofer. An apology goes a long way with me.
Description of Work: I discovered a leak in my roof and immediately called this company to get a repair estimate. I had to wait 3 business days for a response then they scheduled me at 10am on the morning of Sept. 13th. I took the day off of work to ensure I could be there to discuss the issue - no call, no show. To be fair, the guy called my work phone the morning of the 13th & left a message that he needed to reschedule to 10am the following monday - they did not call my cell phone as I instructed the lady who initially took my info...I dont think calling an hour ahead of time to reschedule to another day when people are working is very professional. I called on monday the 16th and was told that they were sorry & would reschedule for Sat the 21st - again at 10am. It is now monday morning the 23rd - no one showed up on Saturday nor was any message left. I now have to start over and call another roofer - but now the rains are here & I wasted 2 weeks waiting for this company.

The Pros: -This company gave the most professional bid package off all three bidders. Their estimator was very professional and caught 2 issues with venting that the other company's missed all together. They were also the only ones that even asked to go inside the roof to inspect. -The qualiy of the workmanship was very good. Everything looks very professionally finished...once they actually finished. -The crew was very clean and courteous. There was no bad language and no trash left on the job. The Cons: -After the initial signing of the contract the company basically lost us and never called to schedule the work. I called and emailed multiple times. The estimator did not return messages left. Finally I got a call approximately 3 weeks after signing the contract from an employee that wanted to schedule the work. They offered a date that was an additional 5 weeks out. I politely explained that I was told during the initial estimate that I could expect the work to be done in approximately 1 month from the contract signing. It took several more calls back and forth and work was then scheduled. It was supposed to be a one day job. The work was great except the work crew didn't understand the instructions from the estimator and didn't install some of the new venting. I left a message and had to call 3 more times before someone called me back. Another crew was sent out a few days later. They got one of the vents right, but hooked the other vent up incorrectly. 2 more calls back and forth and the estimator ended up coming out himself to do the work. Summary: The bid package and actual quality of work was very good. I also appreciate the fact that this company finally did correct the work issue and apologized. Unfortunately communication seemed to be a major issue. I looked back over cell phone records and email and I ended up contacting them about 30 times. Messages were seldom returned by the next business day and I usually had to call them myself and follow up. I do think this is a decent company (compared to other contractors I have used in the past). I just don't feel I could recommend them based on the pattern of poor communication.

The company gave us an approximate date with the stipulation that the exact date would probably change by a few days. A week before that date I contacted them and they gave me an exact date that they would arrive to begin the work. They asked me to make sure our cars were out of the driveway in order for the large dropbox to be put there. The tear down took about three days, the prep for the new roof took about 3 days and the laying of the new roof took about 3 days. Every day the workmen cleaned up after themselves and also used a magnet to pick up any nail or other metal objects from around our home. The crew was a crew of six and they were extremely polite, knowledgeable and I couldn't have been more pleased with them. It was clear from the start that they really took pride in their work and wanted to do the best job possible. I had only one small incident that was fixed immediately. The first day they started the work, our air conditioning system went out and I figured that it had something to do with the workers. In the end I realized that they had put something on top of the a.c. unit outside in order to protect it from debris. I called Raindrop roofing and explained what had happened. Within an hour the estimator came out to take a look and called his a.c. person who was at my home 30 minutes later. It was a quick fix and I was happy with the response. I must say that I did get five bids from companies with very high ratings on Angie's list and although they were not the cheapest, they were smack in the middle of the bids. I am very happy with how the new roof turned out and of how great the roofing team was. Another thing I was impressed with was the fact that the team checked the weather report each night to make sure there wasn't a chance of rain. If it did say possible rain, they made sure that while the tear off was going on, all open coverings were covered in the appropriate manner.
Description of Work: Complete tear down of exiting extremely steep and large roof and put on new roof to our specifications.

I have talked to both Kenny (estimator) and Gabe (owner) about their services. Based on the reliable counsel by Kenny, Gabe and others, I will likely purchase a composite roof (instead of the cedar that I originally wanted). Raindrop is a solid contender for my business.

When I made the initial contact requesting an estimate, I was told that they couldn't come out for 2 weeks (unlike the other two companies who showed up within the week). My appointment was for 3 p.m. and I arrived home at 2 to find a message from Kenny informing me that he was coming at 10 that morning. I immediately called him to make sure he understood the changes to the job. He assured me that would be fine and I would soon have the estimate by e-mail. That was 2 weeks ago and I haven't received a thing from them. Raindrop may do beautiful work, but I'll never know. Update: I was contacted by the company CEO and he expressed dismay at my bad experience. Apologized, offered to send me an estimate ASAP if I still needed one (I didn't) and made a contribution to OPB in my name. I was impressed with his leadership style--he stepped up and took full responsibility for the problem--absolutely no shifting of blame.

As CEO of Raindrop, I apologize that we dropped the ball with this member. I allowed us to get into a situation where our people were overloaded. We had a scheduling error and Kenny had more on his plate than he could handle. I know that Kenny is passionate about serving his customers and in normal circumstances he would have been more responsive. He has reached out to this member to see what we can do to make up for our shortcomings.

I had used this company before, and the salesman, Lee Esmond, was very pleasant. I promised him that I would call them back when it was time to put a new roof on the house, and I did! I got a very nice bid and I was about 90% sure I was going to use this company - in large part because of the rapport I had with Lee - but I decided to get a couple other bids, since people were telling me the bid sounded incredibly low, in other words, too good to be true. Sure enough, I got other bids that were double - and even triple - this bid, which led me to want to know what the difference was. I made several attempts to contact this company, even speaking with Lee by phone, and he assured me he would look at the paperwork and get back to me, since he was out in his truck, and didn't have the papers with him. Well, of course, nobody ever got back to me. So maybe they made a mistake on their bid? Who knows?! It was Lee Esmond who originally made me want to use this company, and in the end, Lee's failure to respond was the single reason why I chose not to use this company. I would gladly pay more money for a responsive company that will return my calls and explain to me exactly why their bid is more money.
Description of Work: Nothing. After being 90% sure that I was going to use this company, the bid fell through when nobody responded to multiple calls and questions about why their pricing was half the cost of the other bids I got.

I am sorry that this member was not satisfied with her interaction with Lee and with Raindrop Roofing. I first became aware of this issue through the Angie’s List review, and immediately asked Lee about it. He said that she had indeed asked him and about the bid because it seemed too low to her. He reviewed it and confirmed that while it was lower than the other bids she received, it was correct. He had worked to keep the cost down because she had expressed that price was a primary consideration. While he couldn’t say for certain that he remembered responding to her, he felt that he had. After seeing the review, Lee called the member and emailed her to clarify things. He got no response, so he personally visited her home. Although she wasn't there, he left an apology note and a gift card. He called her again without getting a response. I then called her twice and left voicemails and I also emailed her, identifying myself as CEO of the company, wanting to address her concerns. She did not respond. Lee noticed when he went to the house that the roof is still not done. We would still be glad to do the roof for the quoted price, which includes a guarantee and which she said is lower than the other bids she got. Raindrop will always go the extra mile to satisfy its customers, and we would still love to do that for this member.

It was original scheduled in late August then they put the job order a month ahead when they found a room to fit my project in earlier. There was a parking issue the day their truck arrived as they needed more space than they asked for on the phone for safety issue. The crew leader demanded for additional charge for their truck return until we figured additional parking space. I called the Raindrop office immediately and the gentleman on the phone was very professional and was able to settle the issue swiftly with no charge for the return. At the end, we were able to find the tenant and him the car moved away 20 mins after. Their crew worked through Sunday and finished the project in 3 days. They were polite and cleaned up after the project. I am very pleased although I turned out paying $800 more for additional work of replacing plywood.

The tear off and installation of new roofing material went great! The crew worked very hard, keeping at it until the job was done. The roof looks great and no longer leaks! Keith, the estimator and Sean, the crew boss were easy to work with and for the most part were very responsive to my questions and concerns. The primary reason I selected Raindrop was chiefly due to Keith's responsiveness to my general and specific questions about roofing materials, warranties, options and brands. I had five companies bid the job, Raindrop was the second lowest bidder. On the other hand, the reason I took so long to write this review is because of a single event that involved Keith, the estimator. I wanted to give him a fair shake by putting that single event in perspective, not just firing off in anger. During the tear off phase of the job, it came time to remove a skylight that my wife and I decided we no longer wanted. This was in the bid. For whatever reason, Keith was the one on the roof removing the skylight framework. While performing this task and while I was standing inside my house under the hole left by the removed skylight, Keith accidentally dropped his steel roofing removal tool through the hole landing on our hardwood floor. This was a fall of about 16 feet, hence it put a gouge and three small nicks in the floor. When Keith was finished removing the skylight frame, he came down and looked at the damage. He offered to discount the price of the job or fix it himself, professing that he had the knowledge, skill and materials necessary. I choose to have him fix the damage saving me the time and expense of hiring someone else. Every time he and I agreed on a date and time to do the repair, Keith wouldn't show up. He finally came one day when I wasn't home and put some wood putty in the gouge. The putty when dry, shrunk, leaving a depression. I called him several times after that asking him to finish the job. He responded by giving me a new date and time twice without showing up either time. Thereafter, it appeared to me that he was ignoring my calls. Besides putting a little putty in the hole, he needed to refinish the two spots to match the color. To date, he has done neither. For this reason, I give him a "D" for professionalism. Update: The company owner contacted me, apologized and offered to fix the damage to our wood floor. We accepted his offer, so he got us in contact with Trendline Flooring, who after a couple of missed phone exchanges, came out and replaced the damaged area of our wood floor and refinished it. The repair was quite well done and completely rectifies my displeasure with Raindrop.

This work was done by Raindrop Roofing (not Raindrop Roofing NW), which was owned by the parents of the current owners, but it is the same family, and the latter business is honoring the warranties of the first business. Anyway, they were recommended by a friend who had used them, and they were punctual in visiting and estimating the job. They started the work on time, did a good job, finished on time, and came within the estimate. Overall, no complaints whatsoever. Very professional outfit.

Excellent experience all around. I had four estimates originally (or should say I attempted to get four estimates; one company never followed through with sending an estimate at all..). All estimates were fairly close. Kenny was my estimator and was very thorough and patient in answering all questions, even my many follow-up questions. Provided a detailed estimate in a timely manner. Omar and his crew worked on my roof; they were hardworking and excellent craftsmen. Cleaned up the yard each day. Everyone I dealt with cared about making sure we were happy and completely satisfied. My new roof is beautiful; highly recommend.

Excellent in every way, including performance of the new roof and price. We got three bids from Angie's top-rated roofers. We chose Raindrop for their competitive price and their special vented roof technique. Raindrop uses thin strips of wood to leave a space between the bottom boards and the plywood, with venting at the crown and lower edges, so air naturally flows between the exterior roofing and the interior of the house. Eleven months later we have found it keeps the upstairs much cooler than before in summer. The roof is nice and snug in winter too. Their work was top-notch, exactly as bid and they are great to work with.

Raindrop was fantastic! I was buying a home and the roof looked good from the ground but thought I had better get a second opinion. I called Raindrop and they sent out Ryan. He was amazingly thorough, inspecting the skylights, chimney condition, calculating the venting out of the house as well as the lower venting needed for the air to come in. It ends up this is required by all shingle manufacturers so their warranty is not void (There is an actual venting calculator he had so be sure to ask your roofer for the calculations) He looked at the shingles and found pressure washer marks and deterioration. He found leaking behind the gutters and rotten plywood edges where he lifted the gutter edge metal and took pictures and showed the rot to me. There was a lot wrong with the roof and he gave me a quote to repair all the areas of rot and the other issues also to replace the skylights. He also gave me a full replacement quote and even though that was a couple of thousand more than the repair. I figured I wanted my roof to look the same color and be 100% complete. He told me it would not match for a while if I did the repair but that it would weather in later. He looked at my attic which I wanted to raise and make a second story. He gave me the name of two remodelers who he had worked with for years. I got a bid for the second story but because it was more than I planned to spend I decided to keep the house the way it is. He took the time to explain technical details and options so I could choose the one that best fit my budget and my long-term plans for the house. He did emphasize the importance of properly venting the roof to prevent mold and to protect my investment. The other roofers who bid the job didn't go into the attic and did not include all the venting in the quote they just said ?Vent to code?. One would not tell me how many vents for the air going out and said I did not need any place for the air to get in even though I had almost nowhere for the air to come in. He could not tell me the calculations without making another trip to my roof. The other roofer said ?Vent to code? but had another $1000 small print line item to add the air in ventilation I would need to actually have a warranty on my roof. Both of these other roofers are highly rated too. Once I accepted the bid, Raindrop's office people promptly notified me of when the job would start, and called me the day before the job to make sure I remembered. I had hidden the key to house for access to the garage and attic for skylights and they passed that information along to their foreman and supervisor. The crew arrived as scheduled and finished the job in a day and a half! They emailed me photos of the job in progress which was a welcome surprise. The quote included replacing 10 sheets of rotten plywood, but they gave me a bill for less than quoted because they found a couple sheets that were not rotten. I did not even know I would get a credit! They cleaned up at the end of the first day and also when the left on the second. The crew must have really enjoyed the work, as they were singing every time I stopped by! They ran a magnet to pick up nails around the lawn and driveway, raked and they also cleaned the moss off of my hot tub roof for free! I received an email from the superintendent saying the job was finished, with more photos and a thank you for the work. What a great company. I felt totally taken care of! My yard looked better when they left than it did when they arrived. Ryan called me later and asked me how the job went and what I liked about it and what if anything they could improve. I had nothing to tell them to improve. They obviously really care about the customer.

The estimate went very well. I received 3 estimates. Lee was our estimator and he was the only one that asked to look in our attic to see what our existing roof and ventilation system looked like. This is in addition to looking over the roof from the exterior - we have a very tall roof with a 12 degree angle .He took pictures and based on his look offered an alternate ventilation system solution that would involved the removal of our existing fan system. The suggested solution and keeping the fan would work against one another if both were to be implemented according to Lee. My husband after a discussion with Lee, approved of that proposal. After a few back and forth discussion points, which included changing the roofing material, and requesting gutter guards on our new gutters, and a plywood foundation (we have some other type of foundation true to an older home). We were good to go in signing the contract. The work initially started out well. The crew appeared on the day and time they agreed to show up and worked very hard. However by the weekend, when my husband had time to look at what they had worked on, he noticed that the attic fan was still there. Which made sense as we thought it was odd that the never scheduled any time for us to be home to turn off the electricity to the fan. But he also saw that they had worked around the fan. This means that the roofers instead of taking out the fan, they cut a hole into the new plywood and workaround the fan. My husband contacted the PM and pointed this out. The roofers to their credit corrected the problem properly - by taking up the roof, replacing the plywood with a new plywood board (without a hold cut out) and re-roofed the area. Unfortunately, instead of waiting for my husband to show up as he said he would, so that they could cut the wires to the fan safely by shutting of the electricity. They did not wait and instead likely endangered themselves by cutting into live wires. We know the wires were live as they accidentally tripped the breakers. And i can't remember or not, but either my husband had to cap off the wires that were cut or the roofer people did after it was mentioned. Not something that was necessarily initiated by them. Also as a part of the scope of the project, they were to modify the roof line so that the place that joints the gutters were perpendicular to the ground so that the gutters could butt against the roof line rather than hang. They did not do the correctly. There were gaps between the roof line and the molding to create the new roof line. My husband had to point that out, and all the other issues with the their work. He had to point would which solutions that were suggested would not work - as one wasn't even allowable by code. And we had to point out that we shouldn't have to pay for the cost of the material to patch (not fix as you can't uncut what's been done wrong) up their mistake. Further we also had to disagree with the PM's request to pay 50% of the contract agreement. Our contract clearly stated we did not need to pay until the project was complete. The owner apologized for that bit of misinformation as apparently the PM was not familiar with his own company's policies. Again, also to the company's credit, we'd made our position clear, they pulled in a "builder" and worked on patching the errors and even corrected an error my husband didn't catch (they used the wrong type of nails for the molding -one that would bleed rust in time). The builder they pulled in also agreed with my husband assessment of the issues as well. Much later, the roofers sub contracted gutter people came to complete the gutter piece of the project. Because of all the communication/PM issues we'd had with the roofing pieced, my husband stuck around to explain clearly what needed to be done with the gutters. We also asked about the gutter guards. They said they weren't given any but noted they were suppose to have been provided some to fulfill the project. I happened to be working from home that day, and after the gutter company let me know they completed their work and there still were no gutter guards, I contact the roof company and the roofing company after a bit figured out that yet again there was some communication mix up as the new gutter guards were ordered but no one came to pick up or deliver them to my home. To sum up: This was a very poorly run project. My husband would say this company is good at just roofing but not so good at building or construction and if that's all you want from them -great no problem. But my problem is that they signed on and said that they could do the work we asked of them and the only way we received what was promised was by my husband being basically working quality control on this project. Anyone reading this review can tell I'm hardly an expert on this subject and if it were not for my husband, I believe they would not have caught the issues my husband caught, billed us and let us handle the consequences of a poorly executed job when these issues became larger problems - possible over the next winter. And that's very unnerving to someone that thought had asked all the right questions and performed all the right checks. I know so many friends and family that would have done the same thing - believed that the professional would complete the project in the manner expected and agreed to on their contract. And likely would have been left with a big mess. So while they were good about correcting issues when we had to bring them up, I cannot recommend this company to anyone that does not have some basic house building knowledge so that they too can do quality checks with them. Which is a shame. As what is the point of a hiring a professional if they can't do the work properly without someone checking on them. Lastly, at the end of the project after I had given them feedback on the project, another person with the company contacted us to apologize for their poor performance and offered us a gift certificate for something. We took the certificate for the amount of time my husband had to manage this project, and I believe the company is sincere in their apology. But really at the end of the day and I told them this.. I just wanted them to do better and at this point the only way I see how to ensure that is by writing this review and ensuring that other potential customers are aware to review their work closely until they've proven to do better.
Description of Work: The agreement was to replace the roofing and gutter. This included removed the attic fan (current ventilation system), adding a plywood foundation, taking down the existing gutters and modifying the roof line ( to a perpendicular angle) so that the new gutters could be attached to the side of the roof instead of attached to the roof as hanging gutters. The gutters were to have gutter guards.

There was a little delay in getting a bid to us, but this was a very busy time for them. They were timely in their responses and work commitments after that. They performed the work as promised. When we had a small leak after the work, they were prompt to fix it. Overall, they did excellent work. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: They repaired vent jacks and flashing.

Went well except it took one week for initial inspection after initial call, then another 1.5 weeks for repair. For a leak in our roof.

We accepted the bid and scheduled the date to start work. The morning they were to start I got a call from them at my office asking me to sign a waiver so they could put a drop box in my driveway. The waiver issue was NEVER brought up prior to this, I of course told them no...You break it, You fix it. About an hour later my wife calls and tells me some guy from Raindrop roofing showed up at the door and told her I wouldn't sign the waiver for the drop box, so would she sign it. She told the guy "Why would I sign if my husband wouldn't." Next day the drop box company shows up with the drop box and says, "we need you to sign this waiver." Obviously we canceled the job. There were feeble attempts to explain but due to the "Playing both ends against the middle" trick we were not too receptive.

I just had a very pleasant conversation with this member, and I thank him for his time and his feedback. There was obviously a communications breakdown on this job. This member got the impression that we were "playing both ends against the middle." While that was definitely not our intention, it definitely was the member's perception. We are reviewing his feedback with our team to ensure that we learn from this experience. So that future customers do not have this issue, we have already made two changes: 1. If a waiver is needed, we will clearly review that with the customer when we present the contract. 2. On smaller jobs we use dump trailers with rubber tires to eliminate the potential for driveway damage. We will purchase a larger dump trailer so that even on jobs as large as this one we do not need to use a dropbox. As Angie's list shows, most of our customers are delighted with our service. We appreciate this member's input to ensure that every customer is delighted with our service.

Our buyer's inspection turned up a minor potential leak in a bedroom adjoining a bathroom. We were required to get a full roof inspection and determine next steps. Keith indicated an inspection would be about $150 and was willing to schedule immediately (since we had a hard deadline to inspect and remediate to allow the sale to go through). He found that there was a trickle-leak resulting from a cracked dried rubber vent pipe flashing. He indicated we could replace with rubber (which would only last 5 years). I asked him what the other options were - and he said "...lead flashing would be a quality solution that would outlast the whole house". Labor was the same and materials would differ by only about $30/flashing (5 flashings for the whole house). I told him to go ahead and replace all 5 flashing with the lead. He also found that the ridge and hip shakes (composed of two shakes stapled together to form a "v") were pulling apart in various places. He was able to schedule the work and execute it in plenty of time. The buyer was happy with the work (as were we) and the house sale successfully closed on time. I received fair value - especially given that I needed the work done on short notice.
Description of Work: 1) Inspection of Roof 2) Replacement of original (cracked rubber) vent pipe flashing with lead 3) Replacement of all hip and ridge shingles 4) Replacement of 2 bundles of shingles as needed

After receiving multiple bids from roofing contractors, all proposing quite different scenarios for our roof, we turned to a trusted friend in real estate for suggestions. Her recommendation was Raindrop, and she had very positive things to say about Ryan, one of the owners. We are happy to agree! Ryan runs the company with honesty and excellence foremost, and we saw evidence of his fine stewardship in each step of the process. Kenny, our first contact with Raindrop, was the first appraiser who did a thorough assessment of our roof and performed a core sampling. Kenny was straightforward and clear about what he deemed to be the best approach for our needs. Our team, led by Omar, had to remove the old roof and install a new flat roof. They were careful, experienced, and proficient, and we are very pleased with the outcome, backed by Raindrop?s warranty. Nick, our project manager, did a first-rate job of keeping us apprised of the team?s progress and answering our many questions along the way. Nick was both personable and professional, exemplifying the company?s fine reputation for caring about their work as well as their customers. Raindrop came through with flying colors, and we recommend them most enthusiastically.
