Services we offer

We offer residential and commercial roof replacements and low-slope roof restoration and inspections. When we provide roofing bids, we are able to bid for new gutters and our partner gutter company will perform the installation.

Services we don't offer

Currently, we do not perform or estimate roof repairs. We do not offer gutter cleaning or gutter services alone. We don't install new concrete and other types of TILE roofs and we don't service current tile roofs. We are, however, able to remove tile roofs and dispose of them in preparation for a different type of roofing material. We install new metal roofs, but do not repair existing ones by other installation companies.

Sean contacted me by email, which I had requested, we set a time. He arrived and went up on my roof. He applied some caulking and something else (I forget what) for the most obvious right-now things the roof needs. He measured for a bid on a new roof. He looked at the small house roof and measured it, too. He recommends new roofs for both houses (I had hoped to get at least another year for the main house), and plans to send me a bid for both. Sean was pleasant to talk with and answered my questions. No hard sell, just what I took to be his honest opinion.

I admit: my first review of this provider wasn't positive. However, they went above and beyond to resolve my issue and that completely changed my perspective. The owner of the business called me personally to speak to me about my first experience and to offer a resolution. Bud, when he came out to view our leak, provided a diagnosis that was completely unrelated to the roofing or siding; thereby showing that he was more interested in providing an accurate diagnosis than winning our business. Overall, this company did an excellent job of turning around my initial impressions. I would gladly recommend them to other customers and believe them to be an honest, trustworthy, and dependable business who is interested in providing excellent customer service. Great job!

Their estimator met me on time and reviewed the roof and how they would go about it. He promised me a quote within a week. No quote was delivered. I followed up with an email to ask if he was still going to deliver a quote, and got no response. I know they are very busy, but assumed since they promised a quote that they would deliver one. To me, failure to deliver a quote or communicate further in any way is unprofessional.

I had several estimates. Raindrop with "Bud the roofer repair man" were very responsive, kept in touch, took the time to explain the repair plan, were very responsive, professional and thorough. The snow storm of the season was approaching and despite the snow and wind the repair was completed. It took a trooper. And I didn't have to worry about being unprepared and open to more damage.

I was very impressed with the speed at which they came out to offer an estimate. The estimate was clear and concise and the gentlemen who provided the bid was personable and professional. Once we signed the contract the work was scheduled a bit farther out than I wanted but then they called and offered to come out sooner and I took it. The crew were courteous and knew what they were doing. They were fast and the work looks great. I am going to have an estimate done to replace our home roof as well. I would definitely recommend this company. I should also note that the finally bill was spot on with the estimate, showing a bit more due to replacement of rotting wood which the estimated was sure to include in the bid as a possibility at an extra charge.

Called this company, for an estimate to repair or replace our 10 foot by 20 foot patio roof, which is currently Clear Polycarbonate Roofing Panel. Lee Esmond, the consultant, was right on time. He listened to our issue, what appeared to be over a hundred leaks, which I assumed were at all of the screw attachment points. I was fully prepared to pay them to repair, or even replace the roofing material, even though it is only about 5 years old. After inspecting the area, Lee concluded, and showed me exactly what he found out. There were no leaks, (he even got up on a ladder and ran water on the patio roof for about 15 minutes). Everything I was seeing was condensation drips only, because of the extra fog we've seen this year. Lee told me there was no need to replace the roofing material, and that even new material would do the same thing, even a metal roof would do the same thing. He said that maybe rolled roofing might cut down on some of the condensation drips, but nothing would stop it completely. I was very impressed with Lee's honesty. He could have sold me a bunch of repairs. He could have sold me a new roof. Hence, my rating of "A" for the companies honesty. Brad

Bud is extremely good at communicating, I received text message and phone updates the day of the visit to let me know when he would be onsite. He performed the work quickly and professionally. Everything looks great, and he took the time to walk the roof to look for any other issues, he found a couple and fixed those as well. We will definitely be calling Raindrop in the future for all of our roofing needs.

They did a great job on our roof, corrected many problems the prior roofer caused, and it looks beautiful. Fernando came out the day after Thanksgiving and worked - when he was supposed to have the day off - to make sure our roof was completed before the storm. There would have been so much damage if he hadn't done this. Fernando is an amazing and outstanding worker.

Because they were so responsive in an emergency, I was predisposed to consider hiring them. From the end of September until sometime in October (maybe even November), I called Raindrop multiple times to get them to come out and look at the skylight that was now covered so they could quote me a price for the job. I was worried that the tarp might start leaking (it didn't). They finally came out to inspect the window for a bid-- it took him about two hours...he said he would get back to me right away. He was very nice, seemed very professional--I had no reason to believe at that point that I wouldn't want to work with them. They did the first part of the job easily and quickly. But the guy that came to do the bid didn't get back to me for weeks until I called wondering what happened to him. In fact, I NEVER received a quote for the work. At first, I figured they were inundated with work because of the rainstorm, so I waited. Through November. After calling over and over, the guy who inspected the window finally called back and said he had trouble finding the right flashing or something...I continued to wait for weeks, calling to see if anything changed. This went on for awhile--I still didn't have the quote --when I finally found another company that showed up immediately to bid on the work AND got me a very good price for the work... within a DAY. They didn't have trouble finding materials. I hired the second company; the tarp was finally removed today and have my new skylight. I NEVER heard back from Raindrop (and it's now December)! It's strange that they would put so much time into a potential job and then completely drop the ball on the follow-through. Because they were so responsive initially-- showed up quickly, covered the skylight, I couldn't give them all F's (and because they never installed the skylight, I can't address the quality of their work.) But their professionalism and responsiveness was so poor I have to wonder if they lost my number, or just didn't want to be bothered to call me to say they decided they weren't up to the job, or just didn't want to do it.
Description of Work: I had a leaking skylight on a weekend night during the September downpour. I called to see if they could help. They came within an hour of the call and in the black of night, a guy put a tarp over the skylight until they could come back and write up a bid for the work. The tarp on a weekend cost $175 -- seemed pricey at first, but it was a weekend, late at night, I have a metal roof, and they did work unscheduled. I was grateful to seal the window from further damage. So this part went OK.,what did not go OK is what followed: the bid.

Got a referral from another Angie's list company which couldn't perform the repair. James from Raindrop came over and inspected the leak and diagnosed the problem. Emailed an estimate and the job was done within a week. He gave us couple of options. One to be done right away to stop the leak and second part to be done later. James was very courtious and professional. We'll use him again in the second phase of the repair.

It all started when Raindrop replaced our roof four years ago. It went quickly and easily, with no mess left behind. The crew was very professional and attentive to details, especially to protecting our landscaping and cleaning up afterwards. Everyone at the company was a pleasure to deal with. We chose them because they've done so many roofs in our neighborhood over the years, and it was the right choice. Ever since we've been having them clear our gutters. They wait till all the leaves have fallen (they're local, so they can check to see what our actual trees have done), Then they call us to make an appointment. Not getting up on the roof in the fall is the best gift we've given ourselves!

I received four quotes for a roof replacement, Raindrop was the highest I received but it also came with the option of the 5-star warranty which I wanted for piece of mind and labor down the road. Lee came to do the quote in the past when I was noticing some leaks. Not only was he able to determine the true source of the leaks but he predicted others that came true between the time I received the quote and followed up with the bid. The 5-star warranty and Lee were the reasons I decided to go with Raindrop. Due to high workload and scheduling, the work was delayed for over a couple months, to be started on October 14th. As I was traveling internationally just before the work was to begin, I had requested that further communication be done by e-mail for any questions or concerns. Unfortunately that was not heeded and calls were placed on a phone at the house. No attempts to contact me by e-mail, which had proven reliable methods of contact in the past, were made. When I got back in touch with Raindrop, work needed to be delayed for another week as the crew desired for the warranty was not available and on a different job. This late notice/warning meant that a week I had planned to take off from work to limit the roofing's impact on my job (I primarily work from home) was then negated and it was too late to change. The team arrived on the first day slightly ahead of time. A trailer for debris had been stored at my home a few days previously. The crew was great, while language barriers came up at times, it was quickly sorted out when various items appeared that needed to be discussed. One of those issues was that the roof decking didn't have the proper gaps. The recommendation from the crew was to replace all the existing decking with new plywood and create the spacing desired. After a call to Lee, rather than doing a total removal of the decking which was still in good shape, they would simply use a circular saw and create the gap manually. I was relieved they came up with this workaround themselves without my having to suggest it, which to me meant that they were actually looking to resolve the problem and not ratchet up the price because the situation wasn't ideal. The team took adequate measures to protect some plants and garden areas with tarps and trashcans. While I would have liked to see a bit more care taken when debris was dropped onto the tarp that covered some sections, they did well and very little damage was done. At night, tarps were used to create a good moisture barrier for the work they had done. By the second day, an issue came up in that the trailer they used for debris was relatively full. This became a progressively worse issue for the crew as they couldn't get the people responsible for taking the trailer to be emptied to get over there and get it done. This delayed the job significantly as they were not willing to dump roofing materials over the yard to compensate for the problem with the trailer. By Wednesday, the trailer issue came to a head as it was not being emptied and the crew couldn't continue removing existing shingles, nor did they have more space to continue doing the rest of the roofing job. This had them basically sitting around waiting for several hours before the trailer was finally removed. However, it did mean the team was able to spend more time getting the roofing done and making sure they cleaned after themselves accordingly. Once the trailer was returned, work progressed quickly. Though they had wished to finish by Wednesday, they needed till Thursday given sunlight issues. All in all, they were at work from 7:30am to almost 7PM every day. Among the last items to complete was the Garage, which did have venting and soffits as well. Originally I was believing that the ridge over the main body of the house and the garage was to be done with a ridge vent. Measurements done on the quote however, did not apparently accomodate the garage. However, the crew blocked the existing vent openings for the garage, meaning it was now effectively sealed. After discussion with Lee and the expectation of ridge vents as previously discussed, they were added at no additional cost to me for the garage. Lee did the work personally. After work was completed a great deal of time went into cleaning up the job, blowing out the gutters and making sure they picked up all that they could find. That said, I did have clogged gutters in the next serious downpour caused by excess roofing material and nails. I had to disconnect the downspouts to clean them appropriately. Payment was collected an the promise of warranty information was to be mailed afterwards. As of today, I'm still waiting on the correct warranty information. I was given an invoice that did not include the warranty discussed, which had to be corrected. I have just received the resulting warranty information after payment though and, yet again, the warranty is not included as it should be. I have requested a correction which is pending. Short Summary: The crew itself did a great job, the work was done quickly and neatly. Administrative issues reduced my perception of the company significantly between issues with scheduling/communication, getting a team out to haul away roofing debris and the invoice/warranty issues I am still experiencing today.
Description of Work: Removal and replacement of the existing roof including removal of existing two layers of shingles for a 1600 sq ft home. This job was to include ridge vents, blocking of gable vents and the CertainTeed 5-Star warranty. Incidental cost of creating a gap in the plywood decking was added during the work.

Raindrop was one of 4 quotes I obtained. I chose them both for their competitive pricing and the excellent reviews on Angie's list. Their office contacts were polite and professional. (even when I pitched a fit, worried that my roof would be exposed during a storm)They had to stop work in the middle of the job due to that severe storm that blew through Portland at the end of September. I was worried sick since the top of my house was exposed. But Raindrop took good care of me. They came out and tarped my roof very securely. They even stopped by each day to check and be sure all the tarps were still in place. Even with all the wind and rain not one single drop leaked into my home. The actual roofers were really good guys. Easy to talk to ..very friendly. They worked very efficiently and were always conscious of my property not being damaged. They did an excellent clean up job and the roof looks beautiful! I STRONGLY recommend Raindrop for any roofing needs.
Description of Work: Raindrop performed a complete tear off and reroofing. My roof has a very steep pitch and come to find out I had four layers. Some of the cost is due to rot replacement.

It's nice to be busy. But... Friday of the previous week, Torrey told me someone would call Wed or Thur last week to schedule a time to come out to look at roof leak. This was 10 days ago now. This is a rental with an adversarial tenant. He hammered me with texts on Sunday about not dealing with his request. I called Torrey back today and she couldn't find me. Frustrated. Taking biz elsewhere. UPDATE: Talked to Gabe, the CEO. He apologized for being so busy and losing track of my estimate appointment. Gabe offered a gift certificate or donation to charity for my wasted time. I was pretty frustrated since the tenant rattled my chain about not responding. I haven't experienced their actual work so an F is probably overkill. I gave a C for dropping the ball but making up for it.

't been laid correctly Noticed some water stains on the ceiling of my office. Directly above is a dormer on the roof and after checking it out in the attic, it looked like a leak had developed. I called several companies and James from Raindrop was the first to call me back. He came out and identified the problem really quick. The shingles hadn't be laid properly where the dormer meets the roof. The shingles should overlap at the valley, but the guys who installed this rood just cut them to fit.. He also identified a few other problems, including the need for ventilation in the dormer. I had just had to have mold removal last year, so didn't want to travel down that road again. He told me he'd have a a quote to me with in 48 hours which he did. He said they were jam packed because of all the recent rain and it would be about 2 weeks. Cool...no problem. He calls me back about 10 days later to schedule. He ran late on the day he was supposed to be here, but was very good about keeping me up to date on his progress. I completely understood because, again, September had been insanely wet. He got here and had everything done in about 5 hours. Good guy...professional, hard worker and did a good job. I'll be coming back to Raindrop and will request James next time.

Very satisfactory experience. Spring a leak during heavy rainstorm on a Sunday afternoon - water dripping down from air return vent on landing. Left message with the emergency contact person. He called back within an hour, Hector arrived within another 1.5 hours. He had to crawl behind the AC unit in our attic to find the leak, but he found it, sealed it inside and then repaired the problem on the roof (in the dark, in the rain!). Prompt, courteous, effective service and cost less than I would expect for emergency visit on a weekend. Would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Repaired roof leak.

Thanks for the nice feedback. When we heard there was a storm coming over the weekend, we put together a round-the-clock team to support anyone who might have roofing issues. Many of our folks went above and beyond the call of duty to help everyone we could. Your comments are also appreciated by our team, as our employees get a $50 bonus whenever they get an A review on Angie's List. We're delighted to serve you and to reward them!

I was concerned that calling in late summer was the worst time of the year to find a roofing company willing to do a small job, and a couple other companies told me that my job was too small to interest them (I appreciated their honesty). Raindrop Roofing NW told me that they considered my small job a repair and I was referred to their supervisor, James Marks. James gave us an estimate that came in lower than another competitor, and he assured us that he could get the job done quickly. We put off the start date a couple of weeks due to our commitments, but he was still able to schedule us easily. James and his co-worker, Solomon, got the job done in one day. They were polite and very professional--a pleasure to have around. Also impressive was how incredibly neat they were; were it not for the fact that they provided us with a beautiful new roof, there would be no sign that they had been on the premises!
Description of Work: Raindrop Roofing NW removed an old cedar shake roof on our large garden shed and installed 30-year composition shingles.

Raindrop Roofing was the low bidder for the project and also provided the most detailed description of the work to be done and how it would be handled. The combination got my attention and landed the job. When the job started, things pretty much went according to plan. It took a little longer than expected to complete but that was because it was bid as a 4 man crew and was accomplished by a 3 man crew. Everyone involved with the job was well mannered and professional in their work. Cleanup was done each day and placed in an onsite dumpster. In the end, I think they went a little above and beyond to complete the job in a timely fashion. I was very happy with the outcome.
Description of Work: The contractor removed the old roof and replaced it with 2200 sq ft of certainteed architectural shingles. The job included flashing, waterproofing membrane on vulnerable roof areas, new attic roof vents, new bathroom stem vents, new lead plumbing vent flashing and removal of all debris.
