Derek is friendly and easy to work with, and he did a great job with everything. The front porch came out great and is now perfectly level, and also feels notably solid and sturdy. Additional work was also done quite well, and the price was reasonable for the amount of work done. He has a good work ethic ... when he was working on the porch foundation, for example, I don't think there was any period of time when I didn't hear him working away at it ... and despite the fact that the project involved working all day in a dark crawl space only a few feet high, I never heard him complain. Derek's approach is at the confluence between old style craftsmanship and sustainable building techniques. If you have a project that is along these lines, I think it would be well worth your time to have him come do a bid.
