Dave was a random find on Angie's List, for us, and we really lucked out when we found him. He is super professional and great to work with; he responds to e-mails quickly and kept us updated on scheduling. His quote was detailed and right on target with the other estimates we got for our project. He made a couple of great suggestions for items we weren't sure on (gel stain for some beams in our vaulted ceiling, for one) His crew was polite, professional, cleaned up after themselves, and did a BEAUTIFUL job on our home. I will be reaching out to him for our next painting project, as well as recommending him to friends and neighbors!

David was easy to work with and responsive. His crew, led by Hector, were prompt, professional and friendly. They seemed to really care that we liked the finished product. This was our first time hiring professional painters, so it felt pricey, but their quote was almost exactly the same as another bid we received, so rates seem competitive. We would hire them again!

Great experience and great results! Before the service: Dave was accessible and responsive, he easily got back to us via phone/text/email depending on the item. He was super helpful educating us about time and work required for our project, the best type of paint for our job as well as offering great help in getting the best price by far on our paint. He also reconfirmed our schedule a couple days before. Day of Service - Arturo our painter was there a little early which was great, he came in a company van full of everything he might need. He also had the info from Dave and after a few quick confirming questions got right to work. Everything was masked and draped carefully and his quality and professionalism were both awesome, very thorough and he even had some cleaning supplies to take care of any dust that came up during/ after the work. He finished right on the estimated time. Bottom line - great quality, service and professionalism. We were well taken care of and delighted with the results. We will definitely call Dave again for our next painting project! Would recommend Mountain Painting to our friends with no hesitation .

Very prompt. All work was done in one day. I was not satisfied with how the edge where two walls met, was completed in the office. I asked Benjamin about it and he immediately corrected the issue. Also, it appears that when the blue tape was removed from around one of the towel bars in the bathroom, the paint came with it. I was able to do the small touch ups needed.

It went as well as we could have expected. The painting crew arrived promptly, were friendly, courteous, efficient, quiet and professional. They did a great job throughout the house - the paint coverage looks great, and the edges look sharp. We will be hiring Dave again when it's time to get our daylight basement painted.

I was completely impressed with professionalism of David Mountain, who came to bid, and his crew, led by Oscar. I ask lots of questions when I am looking for a contractor, and Dave was ready with answers inclusive of information I would not have thought to ask about, e.g., concerning the method he uses to apply two coats. He was responsive to every inquiry I made as we approached the start of the job. That coincided with beastly heat in Portland. I expressed concern for the crew painting in that and for the effect on the painting itself, and he was on the same page, easily. That meant a delay, which I was fine with. Contracted power-washers were on time, worked well as a team. Oscar is a calm, responsive man, knowledgeable and willing to be flexible and to drop what he was doing to deal with my questions. The crew worked 12 hours one day to prep the house. They were on time every morning, all business on the site, and put in long days of methodical work--almost choreographed!--to finish in 4 days. The house looks wonderful--stucco, trim, foundation, porches--and the shed has been transformed. I have lots of garden all around the house, which makes managing ladders a bit challenging. Crew was careful: one mishap with a sprinkler head, but Dave was easily OK with taking my costs for repair off the bill. One suggestion I would make to Dave is that a Portapotty be provided for his crews. They sometimes dot my neighborhood for others' projects, but they are now often locked if no work is being done that day.

Job has not been done. The last communication from company was that the prices have gone up, so I can pay more or get my initial payment back. I requested a refund, which I am still showing as NOT received.

Mountain Painting saved the day. As I mentioned, we hired another painting contractor to paint our downstairs bathroom. This other painter made a mess of the room. I called Dave Mountain and he was able to work me into his schedule. His painter, Hector was friendly, hardworking and extremely skilled. He knew exactly how to remedy the situation. It is very rewarding to see contractors take pride in their work. It now looks fabulous! Dave is an absolute pleasure to deal with. He is organized, friendly and responsive. If i could give them an A+ on everything, I would. I will use them for all of my future needs.

They were just really good at what they do. They came in, did the job and left in a timely manner. I guess their pricing was fine. Other people gave us estimates and these were the nicest. They did the job, that's why we went with them. They came when they said they would.

Mountain Painting did great! Dave arrived exactly on time to take a look around to provide a quote and sent it within a couple days. After that, we decided to schedule a couple days for the crew to come out. My husband already had a couple days scheduled off from work and it worked with their schedule as well. The painters arrived at exactly 8 am which was their start time. They were able to put (2) coats of paint on and finish the job in one day. They even went back over and touched up any paint drips that made it onto the molding and fixed them with our trim paint. Everything looks fantastic and we were so happy we didn't have to try to maneuver ourselves up the stairs with a ladder.

We had another contractor install new high end interior doors, window trim and baseboards, when it became apparent that the contractor would not be spraying the new woodwork but wanted to brush or roll it (not the finish we were looking for) we called and got several bids for painting. We selected Mountain Painting and they were able to schedule quickly due to a change in schedule for another job. Dave's crew were highly professional, engaging,funny and a pleasure to deal with. They covered all areas with plastic and tarps to avoid overspray. They sanded down the primer that came on the doors and trim (it was very rough) , re primed everything , painted two coats of high quality paint, them trimmed the walls around the doors, window trim and base boards to make PERFECT tape/paint lines. in addition they also sanded and painted the stair rails and two bathroom cabinets white, (originally light oak). They had a great attention to detail and Oscar was great to work with, they were prompt, have a very high work ethic and didn't leave until I was 100% satisfied. I would HIGHLY recommend these folks and will definitely use them in the future. Plus as a veteran this being a veteran owned business was the icing on the cake.

Great! Dave Mountain told me they would take care of everything except the electronics disconnection, and he was true to his word. Dave recommended Benjamin Moore paint products. We selected the finish and colors and Dave included the paint in his price. The painting was two coats brushed and rolled on all surfaces. The painters, brothers Arturo and David, were excellent. They were skilled and efficient, went about their work methodically and finished up in four work days. All woodwork was sanded and cleaned before painting. Everything was masked and protected. The trim lines were sharp and clean. Best paint job ever. Well worth the money.

Dave was one of only 2 painters I talked-to that didn't want to power-wash the cedar siding (the other one wanted twice as much). Dave returned my calls even before he got the job. The others had message machines that said they would. But they didn't. Two crews did the work. The first one sprayed the siding with brightener, brushed where required and hosed it off. The cedar went from looking like something out of an Andrew Wyeth painting to a luscious multi-hued bronzey-brown. Then came the painters. They masked meticulously and brushed stain into all the surfaces and edges. They thoroughly prepped the doors and trim then painted them. Everything with a brush and no hurry. And when they left they took their debris field with them. Except that it looked great, you couldn't tell painters had been there. There was never any question. They were there to do it right, and they did. Dave will be doing my next paint job.

I am extremely pleased with the quality of Mountain Painting. Dave was prompt in responding to my request for a bid and suggested a nice general area color, as well as resources to help choose additional colors. Arturo and his brother came to paint the interior of our house and did a fantastic job. They did an excellent job repairing all holes and imperfections, as well as painting. Even in rooms where we were only painting the ceiling and didn't know the paint color of the walls, they achieved clean, beautiful lines. We had almost every room in our 1800 sq ft house painted in some way, and the job took 5 days to complete. They did an excellent job protecting the floor and our furniture. I will definitely be contacting Mountain Painting for future painting needs.

David provided a great team of three fellows who worked on the project for two full days. They were friendly and professional at all times and did an excellent job on our home. Throughout the project they communicated regularly regarding each room, minor wall repair, and any specific concerns or needs I might have.
Our project required some wall repair in a number of rooms and when they were done I could not find the areas that were repaired. The crew treated our home with care at all times and was very careful with our furniture. They were pleasant, accommodating, neat and cleaned up at the end of each day.
We are VERY pleased with the end result as well as our experience with David and his crew. I would not hesitate to use them again, and give them five stars for quality, professionalism and value.

Their profile indicated that they service the Portland area. The owner said they do not service my area. When I told him I was a member of Angie's List, he changed his mind and said he would do it but then said it would take the whole 8 hours to do one room.
