Very friendly, excellent work. Much better price then several Cutlery places I called. I didn't need to leave my knives and the work was finished in about 10 minutes. They are as sharp as places where I have paid more. I plan on taking some gardening tools in next.

I'd give Max an A+++. What a skilled artisan and a really nice guy. He completely dismantled my clippers in order to burnish off old corrosion before sharpening. He could have skipped that step and I would not have been the wiser. But he's a perfectionist and he took care of my tools like he would his own. He likewise cleaned hardened cement off areas of the hoe. Excellent performance, pleasant to deal with. Takes cash only. I wasn't prepared for that, but fortunately his price was so reasonable, I had enough on me.

Max was great. He did a professional job and showed me how to keep my knives honed in between sharpenings. Personable guy. If you follow the directions using the online map service, it's easy to find. I like to support small/local businesses, and Max running his business out of his garage was fine with me. He had the right machines for the job. Nice neighborhood, nothing to feel apprehensive about. I will definitely take my knives back to him when it's time (and some garden tools, too).

I was very happy with the service. Max Fernando runs the business in the garage of his home in a residential neighborhood in Beaverton. The only problem was that the doorbell to the garage wasn't working and so I left my pruners in the drop box, drove away, and then called. He said he'd have the job done in 15 minutes. I came back and he was well underway with the sharpening. I watched while he did the work and he clearly knows his business. He sharpened the pruners and cleaned off the resins and advised me on how to keep them in better shape as well as giving me a tip on the types of pruners to buy/not buy should I purchase any in the future.
This is a very casual business setting but I am very happy with the work and will definitely return.

I had trouble finding him, but once I did, he was very friendly. Sharpened the knives while I waited which took some time because he talked and talked and talked. I was late to an appt. I have since heard some stories that may or may not be true, but I would not go there alone again. The knives didn't seem any sharper than when I took them.
Response from Max Sharpening Services
"I am sorry to hear her response. I guess I cannot please everyone. Her comments are taken with a pinch of salt. Never had a review like this in 32 years of business."

I went on a day when the store was closed, but the person happened to be there and so, he sharpened my knives for me. He was great and the work done was really nice. I would be using his services again in the future. The price that I paid was pretty good too.

I called ahead to see if I needed an appointment for sharpening. I really didn't want to have my knives left for even a day since I use them daily and do not have an extra set of knives to use. He told me if I got there quickly he could get them done right away. I was there within 20 minuted and he sharpened those knives in less than that. I was desperate. I couldn't find anyone who could put a an edge on my knives without having to send them away. There was no way I could live without my knives even for one day let alone a week. It was a dream come true. Not only was he only a few minutes away, he did an excellent job of restoring a very sharp edge to my knives. Fernando your the best! Thanks to Angie's list members for recommending DCS Sharpening I wouldn't of found this business otherwise.

Max did a great job! I was a little concerned that I would have a hard time getting to his place before he closed, but he said not to worry and was there form me at 4:30. He sharpened the knives while I waited. He was quick and efficient. When we were done, I realized I didn't have enough cash and he doesn't take credit cards. He gave me the knives and told me to come back with the money later. AMAZING. Good thing he lives so close to me, I was able to get back with the money that evening. Max is a very nice man who does an excellent job. He sharpens just about anything: pocket knives, saw blades, scissors, chain saws. I'm looking around the house to see what else needs an edge; I'll be going back to him soon.

Max greeted me at the door and offered to sharpen the knives while I waited, but I had to get to an appointment, so I dropped them off and came back a few hours later for them. He was very courteous, and did a fabulous job. It was obvious that he handled the knives with care, and boy, are they sharp now! I couldn't be more pleased. He also does lawn mower blades, pruners, and garden tools. I will use him for all of my sharpening needs from now on.

Ever since George & Son Cutlery went out of business, I have been looking for another knife sharpener. I was disappointed in another local company, so I checked Angie's List and found a knife sharpener in Beaverton near my home. I found DCP to do a good and very timely job. We dropped them off on a Thursday and were able to pick them up the next day.

Our knives had gotten very dull. We had taken them to various sharpening people over the years but had not gotten them back to ''new'' sharpen. We searched ''AngiesList'' and located and called DCP Sharpening one day last week and they said they had a drop off box. Yesterday (Sunday) we dropped by DCP Sharpening fully intending to drop them off. When we drove up Max was there and he said he'd sharpen them while we waited. And he proceeded to do just that. He sharpened eight knives including a serrated bread knife for $26. I tried out one of the knives last night and was able to slice a tomato to about 1/16'' thick. So I know they are very sharp now. He also showed us how to use a steel and what to look for when we need to bring the knives back. He is very good at what he does and is what I would call a skilled craftsman. BTW he is a retired engineer. So if you need something sharpened you can get it done right at a reasonable price.

The job was done quickly and the price was right. I never saw the man that sharpened the knives. I dealt with two different people/friends that were helping him watch the shop when he was on the road. The knives are now very sharp!

Went over to his shop a couple of days before Mother's Day to get all of our kitchen knives sharpened. He had them done later that day. Very well done, fast, very good value.

BOTH MEN WHO RUN THE BUSINESS WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EDUCATED ME ON HOW TO USE THE ''STEEL'' TO MAINTAIN THE SHARPNESS OF A KNIFE. THEY ONLY CHARGE $2-3 PER KNIFE AND ALSO SHARPEN GROOMING SHEARS, SCISSORS, BLADES, AND CLIPPER HEADS. THE BUSINESS IS RUN OUT OF A HOME GARAGE. THEY HAD MY KNIVES FINISHED IN 1 HOUR. AWESOME JOB. I CAN FINALLY USE MY KNIFE SET AGAIN. THEY ARE REALLY, REALLY SHARP. I FOUND THEM IN THE PHONE BOOK.
