MASCOTA'S LANDSCAPE INC.

Ivan did a wonderful job installing a new double-check backflow valve for my mom's landscape irrigation system. A few weeks later, we had him fix a leak in an old supply line. Both times, he was on-time, performed quality work and cleaned up after he was done. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Mascota's again!

We hired them to do landscaping for a small community. They did a good job for the most part. Where we had problems was with their responsiveness, providing quotes when we asked them to, fixing billing issues where they missed days and said they'd credit us but never did in spite of many emails and calls to correct, when making repairs we asked for photos in order to address with the property owners but that wasn't done by the request. We finally ended the contract. They had installed some irrigation boxes for us that were keyed and they never gave us the keys. Next season came and new small company couldn't access the boxes and while trying to solve this issue we had large areas of the landscape die as a result and they're not responding to our request for the keys which we had paid for. This is an example of a company that completely lacked professionalism and customer service. The charges for standard landscape were reasonable but then we started getting charged very large numbers for simple few dollar repairs as we were taken advantage of during hard times and the pandemic.

My experience with Mascota’s Landscapes has been HORRIFIC !!! First I hired must Moscota’s Landscaping to create a hard-surface path in my yard. They created an eyesore, which quickly began to disintegrate between the tile work. They were paid $1500, and then I tried let it go Then, a windstorm blew down some fencing between me and a neighbor, which needed to be replaced immediately; and with no other resource, I called Mascota's back to build a new fence, in the amount of $4,325.00. The first time I saw it, I complained. Despite the fact that professional survey markers were clearly evident, they built the fence on my property, with the bottom of the fence literally resting on the ground and on top of previous plantings. Furthermore, what was to be a cedar fence was actually built with house siding timber. They said what was done was done, and they would not redo it or give me my money back. A short time later I noticed that one panel of the fence had literally separated from its post and I called them back to repair it. Both Ivan and Hector refused to do so under any circumstance, because they said it had been more than one year and the warrantee had expired. They said I would have to find someone else to fix their work. Be aware and beware!

On time, great communication and correspondence. We'll call on them again.

1. Routine residential yard maintenance was variable quality. Generally good, clean appearance from mowing and trimming with good clean-up afterwards. Often had to remind details like blowing out leaves that accumulate behind the garbage cans. Pruning and trimming was often neglected inappropriately. Some trimming showed poor understanding of how plants grow and look their best. Pruning of a tall hedge looked fine from ground level, but was an eyesore when viewed from kitchen window of our ranch house, where we could see the unevenness of the top. Trimming was sometimes done when a heat spell made it inadvisable. Supervisory staff (Hector and Ivan) knew how to do everything right and Hector showed very good horticultural knowledge and design insight...however, they failed to supervise their workers adequately to get the best results. Frequently, Hector and I would reach understanding on how things should be pruned and trimmed, but that understanding wasn't communicated to the crew adequately for them to carry out the plan as intended (or perhaps the crew was simply overwhelmed with work still to be done elsewhere that day and had to skimp on the work they did in our yard). 2. Hardscape project was inexplicably delayed almost a year because Hector didn't send us a drawing for approval by our Homeowners Assn., despite several reminders. Eventually, the project was very well executed and looks great. 3. Sprinkler turn-off for winter was well done, with a powerful air compressor blowing out the lines to prevent freezes. Turn-on in spring was delayed such that we had to do it ourselves; we notified them we had done it ourselves, but Ivan showed up 2 weeks after promised, never having got the message from Hector. Back-flow test was mid-range in price. COMMENT: I think the Ordonez folks who run this outfit are knowledgeable and well-intentioned, but there was frequent inattention to detail by their crew that suggested inadequate supervision. In the future, I would use this outfit only for landscape/hardscape projects that can be planned and scheduled in advance, and with a penalty for delay in execution.

For this particular job, we wanted our very large and very old cherry tree pruned. There were too many suckers, and they cleared those out. But the main issue was the multiple "widow makers", branches looking like they could drop at any time. We had just set up a play structure that is under that tree. We bought it used, took it apart, and put it up, enhanced in a custom way. And the grandchildren were coming with the parents for a two week stay. Mascoti's got the job done, very well, didn't hurt our new backyard feature, and cleaned it all up. They also timed the pruning job to happen before some extra yard clean-up and adding of barkdust to side areas, and underneath that play structure. One thing they did not do was to bring down the canopy of the tree, just some, no more than by a third. They wouldn't do it then, in late July, wanting to wait for fall to be easier on the tree. I thought that was very smart. Guess it's time to give them a call for that job, plus the roof and gutters cleaning.

Once again, Ivan and his partner did a great job and for a very reasonable price. I first hired him nearly three years ago for some extensive landscaping, and he was definitely a "find."

One or two members come out to provide the service. They come every once every two weeks. They are professional and cost effective. They have a good service and I would recommend to a friend or family member.

My initial contact was with Ivan, and he was the one who also did the majority of the pruning.  He was friendly, professional, and did an excellent job.  Also he knows his plants. He and his partner cleaned everything up, cleared away all the accumulated leaf debris under the hedge, and hauled it all away.  I will definitely work with these people again.

very professional. every detail is not perfect every time but a cumulative effort that I am pleased with. will start with them again in early spring 2014

Hector contacted me promptly following my initial inquiry and came by a few days later. We walked the property and reviewed everything that needed to be done.  He advised it would be a week or so before they could do the job.  The following  Thursday he called to say they could be over on Friday if that worked for me.  They arrived at the agreed upon time, worked diligently for 5 hours and completed all the tasks to my satisfaction.  I have hired Mascota's to continue with routine maintenance for my yard work.
