Great. They were very careful with our furnishings. They did a great job and left the home in excellent condition.

I could write a whole essay and send in a huge album of pictures. I haven't done this because I don't know if my terrible experience would necessarily apply to anyone else; owner was the main painter, but got sick, and didn't do his share (he had professional skills; helpers didn't) and didn't supervise adequately. Main turnoff was his attitude; when I didn't seem to be satisfied, he became very angry. When I contacted him later to properly clean up areas that had been painted accidentally and other's where painting hadn't been finished, he just brushed me off, disputing my issues, but not coming back to check on his work. Therefore, I can't recommend Josh Marcella for any kind of work in the future.

Josh is a responsive business owner. He stands behind his work. At times he is away from the work site. I would prefer that he was at the site at all times but I realize he has to do bids for future jobs. I appreciated that the job was done in a timely manner. Arrived before 8 am every work day, including Labor Day. Worked until 3-4:30 each day.

After being referred by a family member who had a great house painting experience, we hired Josh at Marcella & Sons to paint our house and install exterior wood framing to several windows. Josh was terrific to work with. He was very attentive to our needs and always communicated with us concerning the unpredictable weather of the Pacific Northwest. Josh was very professional and his care and detail to his work is impressive. The final product (paint and windows) looks fantastic. We have an older home with unusual siding and the house has never looked so good. We are so happy we went with Marcella & Sons for our home finishes.

I know 2 things about paint: it goes on the wall, and I hate doing it. So Josh is a godsend. For the purposes of this review, the touch ups he did and the painted bathroom are almost secondary. The thing you should come away with is that Josh is a craftsman. The only direction I gave was "We need the interior paint touched up and the basement bathroom painted.". I knew that was sufficient for Josh to do his magic. Simply put, he knows what he's doing. He has such an impressive attention to detail. Combine that with his ethic of doing the job right, and you have the makings of a super happy customer. So if you're reading this and wondering if Josh is a worth hiring, the answer is an unequivocal yes.

From start to finish, working with Josh and his crew was a great experience. They had a competitive price and I can't imagine anyone's attention to detail being any better. They found all kinds of minor and major repairs that needed to be done on our 100 year old house, and took care of the ones they could handle and recommended outside help when out of their range (and waited patiently while we had it taken care of). They were professional and responsive throughout the entire process. They stayed focused on our project, even though it was late summer and they could easily have been pulled in to the other projects they had lined up. They meticulously protected our garden and landscaping. They obviously cared a lot (not just Josh, but his entire crew) about doing a high quality job, took pride in their work, and actually seemed to enjoy working on our two story craftsman bungalow. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to everyone I know. We would definitely hire them again. They even put out a fluke fire that started in our neighbors yard while they (neighbors) were on vacation, prompting a delivery of a plate of cookies from our neighbor to the crew! These are all around good guys.

Excellent service and results. We had a little difficulty with the paint application on the china cabinet due to primer/paint (we provided all paint); but the Joshes kept at it until the end result was great. The front hall entryway and stairway look especially wonderful now. The wet bar is an exact match to the kitchen, which was what was desired. The powder room bathroom walls, crown moulding and ceiling look fabulous. Superb edge lines. All work completed on schedule. Josh Marcella and Josh Ramsey are always so pleasant to be around while they are working. Clearly they love what they do and they are very good at it. The quality of the work was excellent; the crew was very conscientious about all aspects of the job. They spent a great deal of time on the preparation of all surfaces, being meticulous about filling all cracks, holes, and divots before starting any painting. Scheduling the work was not as straight-forward as I would have liked and the work postponed a bit. However once it started I was very pleased with how it progressed and extremely happy with the outcome and quality.

Josh Marcella and the other Joshes at Marcella and Sons did an excellent job. They completed all work on time at a fair price and the quality of the painting was superb. They also took extra precautions to protect our recently refinished floors and surrounding areas, and they provided excellent clean up. To meet a tight deadline for painting our kitchen and wet bar cabinets they were willing to come early and stay late. I would highly recommend Marcella and Sons for painting work.

I had very bad experience with Josh the owner of this company. I was referred to him by my brother. He came out to give a quote to paint me house and he did. The weather was not great and he was busy with his other project so he hold me of almost for 9 month off. He promised me that the quote will not change. So I got I caulking done with somebody else to expedite the work and paid $750. I called him up in February and he came back out and inspected the work and said that he will deduct the work and send me a new quote. Two days later he send me a quote for the same amount and said that he miss calcualte his work but this quote will be his final. I was shocked but I didn't have The time to get somebody else to bid on the work especially he got referred to by family. Two days before he started the work he send me another quote that is $400 higher and his explanation was that he again miss calculated his work, now I got spacious and emailed back why his quotes keep changing. He promised me that he will do a great job and that will be the last quote. He started his work and I wish I never let him start. From day one he started giving me attitude made feel that I'm not a customer and he is doing me a favor to paint my house. The problems started growing day by day. He started to tell me if you want me to do the caulking right ( wait a minute you came out in February and inspected me house with caulking that got done and never adjusted the quote down) you have to pay me hourly $35, I lost my mind and said you are already charging me $400 on top of your original quote and I already paid $750 to get the caulking done and now you want to charge me more? His excuse was that I'm taking money out of his kids mouth and made me feel bad. The work went over 3 weeks and I can't tell you he awful I feeled, this guy and trying to rip me off, but he was into my project deep in so I swallowed his bad comments and let him finish the job so he can leave. Then he found mold on my deck and said that he will change all the horizontal pieces and make my deck look new, he would charge me $270 for the work. I told him that I'm going to buy him all the materials and he can write me everything he needs to get the job done. So I went to Home Depot and bought him the materials, turns out that he changed only 3 pieces and said that the others are fine. He charged me for replacing the pieces of wood $270. My patience had end and I started asking him why he is doing that and again he got his kids in the middle of that and said that I'm taking money out of his kids mouth and that he is working hard for me. Excuse me you are the expert here not me, you bid on a job not me. My wife calm me down and I let that one slide. He texted me and said that tomorrow was his last day and he is finally done. I came back from work and looked at his work and noticed that the trim in the back was not done. So I texted him with pictures that the trim is not painted and he responded back to me and said that my neighbor doesn't have the trim painted. I said to him that I don't care what my neighbors house look like I care about my house. We started texting back and forth and I was done with his ******** and called him out. He started treating and cussing via text. I told him that we need to talk tomorrow before you finish up the work if you want to get paid... he started texting me until mid night and made me very nervous. The next morning he came and broke into my backyard and started moving his stuff out and said that he is not going to paint my trim. He started cussing and treating me my wife got involved and said to him to finish what was left and leave without painting the trims. It was a very bad experience for me and my family and I will definitely never referral this guy to anyone. Watch out he wants only your money. Sent from my iPad

I would highly recommend his company, the job came out perfect. He is very detailed and advised me on stains and samples. He is so reliable and does quality work, a pleasure to work with.

Josh & team were great! I work from home and their extreme professionalism was much appreciated. They cleaned up after the job as if fairies came and had painted- all that was left was a great job.

It did go longer than expected because one of the three painters broke his ankle just before starting the job so it had to be done by two instead of three painters. We were in no hurry and were staying in a nearby motel. We preferred that time be taken for a first class job. We got that for a very reasonable price. The painters were courteous and careful. They had a lot of heavy furniture to move around and they did it with a smile. The job looks great. We had several bids off of Angie's list and this was the lowest except for an uninsured/unlicensed painter who was not on Angie's List.

I couldn't be happier with Josh and his team. They did an amazing job painting the interior of my new home. I have an open floor plan and was having some trouble figuring out where my colors should go. Josh advised me and the result is perfect. He was incredibly friendly and professional at every turn and made me feel at ease about the project. I will definitely call him again when I'm ready to paint my other rooms. Highly recommended.

I asked Josh to refinish my cherished rocking chair because I knew he would treat it like his own. He had previously painted most of the interior of my home, which is how I came to understand that he takes great care with every project. I had waited for years to find someone that I'd be comfortable with working on this chair, which was given to my mother as a wedding present and which has inestimable sentimental value to me. Josh was the perfect person, with a terrific combination of talent, integrity, kindness and professionalism. He was extremely thorough in planning the work and communicating with me about the process and my options, including stain choices. He made sure I was OK with each step of the work. I loved his vision for the project, and he took extra care and caution that really meant a lot to me. The refinished chair is beautiful. It is clean, bright and silky smooth, and every time I look at it I am happy. I can see so many details that had been lost due to wear. It has new life, and I will be proud to show it to my mom. I have included some before and after photos. You can see what terrible shape the chair was in (in fact, it was even worse than you can see) and how very lovely it is now. Thank you, Josh!

Having been exceedingly pleased with Marcella and Sons Fine Finishes when we had the exterior of our house painted (which had some serious problems to correct), we again used their services for interior painting, not even thinking of asking for several bids. The project included 3 ceilings - one with cracks from settling and water damage and another with water damage with a wall flaking due to a leaking skylight -, completely repainting one room which previously had wallpaper, and repainting battered baseboards in assorted rooms. All areas they painted now look like new with all defects corrected. They were prompt, worked around our schedule and kept in contact throughout. We appreciate their professionalism and the pride they have by doing their best work. We will seek their services for any future painting jobs.

I was impressed with how much care and effort the Marcella team put into prepping before painting.  My siding was in pretty bad shape and had a lot of sun damage, holes and cracks.  The team made sure everything was taken care of before even putting the primer on to make sure the house was protected and the finished paint would look good.
Upon completing the painting, Josh (the owner) made sure that we were completely satisfied with all the finer details. 
They surpassed my expectations and our home looks wonderful.  We are getting bunches of compliments for our friends and neighbors.
I would strongly recommend Josh and his team to anyone looking for a quality job.

As I age I become more and more convinced that craftsmanship is harder to find. Then Josh came out and proved me wrong. His attention to detail is epic and his knowledge of his craft is encyclopedic. Any issues that came up when he was painting out house, Josh was able to handle. Singles need replaced? Fixed. Window trim needs fixed? Done. I cannot over state how impressed I am by Josh's skills. He singlehandedly made me stop being a grumpy old man. :)
