What I really enjoyed about James was that he was very patient. He was willing to make changes to the plans. He was also thorough and detail-oriented.

We knew almost immediately that we wanted Jim to be the one to draw up our plans. He listened well to what we wanted, asked many appropriate questions and was just nice to talk to and work with. All through the planning stages he was great about communication and we never had to wait for him to get things done. The work slowed down considerably when the engineer got involved, but Jim warned us ahead of time that that might be the case. This is a rather complicated and very extensive remodel (adding one bath, moving the kitchen and another bath, taking out several walls, etc.) and Jim's plans passed with the city with flying colors. (Anyone who has had to deal with the permit process knows that is not always an easy task!) Jim has been more that willing to take calls from us since his part of the work was done and has even come to our house without charge to discuss the project. We are doing the general contracting ourselves, so having him so willing to continue working with us is a blessing!

Jim is enjoyable to work with and spent a lot of time with us, listening and trying to figure out how best to create the house we wanted. Jim has lots of experience building houses so he could help us understand the costs associated with decisions we made as well as the obstacles certain choices might present in the building process. We really valued working with an architect with practical experience.

It was very fairly priced. He was very responsive and did an excellent job. Any time I needed him, I could get him on the phone. He was friendly, creative and timely. He was outstanding in his knowledge and abilities, and I would recommend him highly to anyone.
