Granted they persevered through this transaction, as would be expected, and provided me with window coverings, but I am not completely satisfied with the service and product I received especially after spending a significant amount of money. I do believe the product is very well made, but the cords come off very easily (for safety reasons) and are difficult to reattach. I also had to purchase a new large area rug because of the color change.  I asked for a fair rebate because of timeframe, many appointments, emails, telephone calls and inconveniences, because they stated many times that my problems were a very rare occurrence and because they could not explain how these mistakes were made. I was told it is against their policy to approve any financial compensation, but that they would give me a $100 restaurant gift card which I believe is not a fair resolution.  Their sales in 2010 in North America totaled 995 million dollars.  The company should apply a discount when an order has poor quality control that results in many unforeseen problems for the customer.  I would expect them to be accountable for their mistakes by granting me an equitable discount.

I had contacted several local blind suppliers that all came up with complicated and expensive solutions to getting this fixed. Finally, I got online and contacted Hunter Douglas directly. I emailed them and they responded within a day. They mailed me the part for free and it came with step-by-step instructions. It was very easy to use this company.
