2. I was not told the company would use subcontractors who would do the work as it fit into their schedule. The contractors who put the faucets in and replaced the stovetop in the center island had to return because they did not do the job correctly the first time.
3. After visiting George Moreland Plumbing and noticing the prices were 20-40% lower for the same items I had gotten from Floform, I was told that rather than being given contractor prices, the prices on the sinks, faucets, and drain baskets were MSRP. I could have purchased the items myself and saved over $600.00.
4. For the entire forty-five days, all of my kitchen outlets were hanging out of the wall by their wires. It was difficult to plug anything in to use the outlets during the six days a week that no one came to work on the kitchen. One week, no one came at all to do any work.
The price noted above was after I demanded a 15% discount.
finding information on her computer and she didn?t seem to possess a great deal of knowledge about their products or pricing (with an incorrect quote initially given and later revised).
We have a large kitchen and were surprised when only one worker technician arrived to do all the work. We must say he worked tirelessly, while having a pleasant attitude all the while. All the work was finished in just one day. The removal of the old counters went well, including removal of all the debris from our house, but the installation of the new counters was quite difficult. He did keep us informed about the problems during the entire process. Once completed, the seams didn?t match up well, but were acceptable. The tech who performed all the labor did an amazing job considering he did everything by himself, although the cleanup was somewhat sloppy, with a lot of glue left on the new countertops.
After installation of the new countertops was complete, the sales rep returned to check out the installation. We asked her if she would
send or email us care and cleaning information for the Wilsonart countertop surface. We never heard from her again.
McKaila came to our home to give an estimate on removing and replacing countertops in an older house. She was very professional and helpful--especially when choosing the countertop material. We opted for quartz. Two weeks prior to the installation the area was measured with a laser and the quartz was then prepared for installation. The installation went smoothly--the installers were very professional and did a great job. This included a new sink. The following day a plumber came in to hook up the sink and dishwasher, he also installed a new dishwasher that we had ready to go. Again very thorough and professional. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for an updated kitchen.

design skills, expertise, and low-pressure attitude really shined as we strolled the showroom. She explained the entire countertop install process in a way we could understand and left feeling that the job would be done right. Thank you Diana for all the help!
Then the crew... Eric came out to do the template. He had a two hour window, and showed up at the beginning of it, and was out in an hour. I thought, how in the world are these things going to come out perfect (cut outs for the sink, cooktop, etc) from just that visit?!
Two weeks later came the install. Everything fits PERFECTLY, and the overall effect of this amazing feature of my newly remodeled kitchen just ties everything together!
I couldn't be happier; with Floform and their products and services! GO THERE! You'll be SO glad you did.
The first step was to choose the material/color and pay in advance at Lowe's. Once that is done, FloForm sends a person out to carefully measure the area and discuss the various fine points of the instllation. The measurement, on May 14th, seemed to go well and Tim, who did the measurement and explained that the was the supervisor of the installers, discussed a number of aspects with me. During the templating I pointed out the kitchen window over the sink and reminded him that a window sill was part of the plan; Tim measured that and we discussed how much of a lip that sill would have etc.
The countertop needs to then be fabricated, of course, and that takes time. So our kitchen project slowed for a couple of weeks; only after the countertop was installed could we install the kitchen faucet and so we held off on the sink drain, disposal and dishwasher as well. We scheduled the plumbing and dishwaser installation for the two days after the countertop installation, hoping to get the kitchen operational after weeks of waiting.
The FloForm installers arrived and began the installation. They were efficient and courteous and all seemed to go well, but then they told us that the critical piece of quartz just in back of the sink had been miscut -- apparently it had slipped during fabrication and nobody had noticed. But they would fabricate a new piece and bring it back as soon as possible. The news then got worse as we asked where the quartz window sill was. After contacting the company, the installers told us that we had not paid for the window will, but that FloForm would take care of it. I was unhappy with that answer and called FloForm and spoke to Tim. I reminded him that we had discussed the sill and told him I did not need him to give me a sill but did want the sill I had paid for. He replied that it didn't matter whether I had paid or not, as FloForm would take care of me and fabricate/install the sill.
The installers departed, promising that FloForm would call later that day or the next with the date and time to return with the replacement quartz and window will. FloForm called the next day to say they would return June 10th. I don't know the details of how FloForm does their business, but think that is an unsatisfactory response to the situation -- our 16 day remodeling delay became a 27 day delay. When I called Lowe's to complain about the time delay, FloForm contacted us to confirm that June 10th appointment, explaining that the quartz pieces needed time for production.
On June 10th, another FloForm crew arrived and completed the installation in short order, Like the first crew, they were courteous and efficient.
To summarize, the quartz countertop and the installation were fine. The time required to finish the job was excessive and failure to fabricate the window sill unsatisfactory. The implication by FloForm that I was trying to put one over on them by adding the window sill was insulting -- and in fact, I carefully measured the final job and calculated that I ended up with 65.3 square feet of quartz when I paid for 68 square feet. So while FloForm's records -- or perhaps Lowe's -- may have omitted the window sill, I most assuredly and quot;paid forand quot; all the countertop that I got.
custom cement countertops that ended up being too much work to take care of and were starting to look shabby after only seven years of use. I was looking for high quality, durable countertops and really liked the look of marble and granite, but after the experience I had
with the cement countertops, I was very leery of anything that would require any sort of maintenance. Well, I couldn’t
be happier with my choice. On the advice of our salesperson, I ended up going with a quartz countertop that has the look
of Carrera marble and the countertops look amazing and very durable as well. I don’t know if I could damage
these countertops if I tried! They are a breeze to maintain and the salesperson, Sarah Mendoza was a joy to work with. Sarah’s quiet confidence and expert knowledge of the products came through right away so that I knew instantly that I was in good hands. I was especially pleased that we were able to schedule a Saturday appointment to pick out the materials. The customer service was exceptional, the installation was seamless and the quality was better than I hoped for. I couldn’t be happier.
Material Selection (Grade A+)
We had decided we wanted to get Vetrazzo recycled glass countertops, and Floform was the only local dealer who carried them. We drove up to their warehouse in Kent, WA. They had already pulled out couple of slabs of the styles we were considering. When we got there, we also noticed a unique style we hadn't seen before, and they quickly pulled out two slabs so we could see them better. We reserved them, with no money down, and Floform held them for months as we settled other details of the project.
Measurement and Fabrication (Grade B)
Floform sent a very pleasant and knowledgable person to take measurement for the countertops once the cabinets were installed. There were two issues that could have been dealt with better: 1) we were told there would never be more than a 1/16and quot; gap between the wall and countertops, including in a small alcove; and 2) we were told they could do a bullnose edge everywhere except one corner. It turned out that neither of these was completely accurate.
Installation (Grade A)
Floform did a great job at installation. They were a bit delayed from a job earlier that day, but they worked hard to do a good job in a timely manner once they arrived. All the measurements worked. However, at installation we found a few problems:
1) In the alcove there was a 3/16and quot; gap instead of 1/16and quot; gap between the wall and the counter tops. We used a stainless steel backsplash (designed to look like pressed tin) that's thinner than tile, so the gap was pretty visible.
2) The bottom edges of the countertops were not sanded smooth or finished. They were gritty and dusty to the touch.
3) There was a visible small ridge underneath one corner.
4) The corner that wasn't rounded ended up really protruding and was going to be a hazard to anyone walking (and it was only a few feet away from a door). It looked like it could have been rounded, unlike what we were originally told.
Resolution Part 1 (Grade F)
We immediately contacted the local Floform office to see if anything could be done. It took two weeks to have someone come out and look at the problems. When the rep came out, his approach was to stonewall and he seemed totally disinterested in figuring out solutions for any of the issues. We were surprised at how rude and dismissive the representative was. He eventually agreed to send someone out to and quot;seeand quot; if they could make minor fixes.
Resolution Part 2 (Grade A)
After such an unsatisfactory experience with the local Floform office, we contact Floform's headquarters in Winnipeg. At that point we received a quick response. The second person they sent out did an excellent job of explaining to us what could be fixed and why some couldn't be after fabrication (example: the ridge underneath should have been fabricated farther back and hidden by the top of the cabinets, but couldn't be fixed once installed). He rounded off the corner and filled the large gap with a hard material (probably some type of resin). He also used a color-matched caulk to seal the gaps between the bottom of the countertops and the top of the cabinets. He even left the remainder of the caulk in case we needed more that was a good match for color.. While nothing could be done at that point about the gritty undersides or the ridge, we appreciated that they took the time to talk to us and explain the issues.
I absolutely love my new bathroom countertop! My husband and I had our master bathroom painted – we just had to get rid of the old wallpaper. Once we had done that, we realized that we needed to update the countertop to really bring our bathroom into the 21st century.
We went to FloForm Countertops where Sarah Mendoza walked us through our choices for a new bathroom countertop. Sarah listened to what we were looking for and how much we were interested in spending and took us directly to the product that fit our needs. Since we had just had the room painted, we explained what the room looked like and Sarah showed us several different color options that would coordinate well with our colors. We chose a Corian countertop in a dark gray color (with flecks of blue and beige) and followed Sarah’s suggestion that we have a cameo white sink bowl to go with it.
We placed the order and waited in anticipation to get our new countertop. Once it was in, we scheduled the install. The installers showed up on time and were very professional and courteous during the time they were in our home. They were very careful to put drop cloths down to protect our carpet and flooring and they went about the install efficiently and professionally.
We had such a great experience with Sarah and FloForm that we are definitely going to go back to her when we start shopping for a new kitchen countertop. I would recommend FloForm to any of my friends and family.
