Their labor costs were very reasonable and a bargain considering the quality and level of skill that the owner demands from all of his crew.
Can't say enough about the quality of their service. They worked with me on several issues, including using a grout that could accommodate my chemical sensitivities. I also have mobility issues and they worked with the city to find the proper tilt of the shower floor that would allow me to use it more easily, A tile was cracked on the laundry room counter, and they replaced it before I even noticed the problem. The men who worked on the job cleaned up every day. We used a natural limestone for the fireplace wall and they did an excellent job of centering the tiles and placed them in such a way that enhanced the natural qualities of the stone. If there were a higher grade that A I would give it to them.
"Thank you. We value our repeat customers and appreciate your support."
Chris Campbell, his wife Deanna and their crew of master tile craftsmen are wonderful. When we discovered a leak in our existing mud set shower, we called Chris. Deanna helped us select a very reasonably priced field tile and accent tile that worked beautifully with the existing tile floor in our bathroom. Chris also let us do the destruction work to save costs. The two craftsmen who installed the tile did a meticulous job. Every tile is perfectly cut and the base of the shower is perfectly pitched to allow the water to drain evenly. We enjoy the new shower every morning!
We were unsure what type of tile we wanted and what look we wanted, but Amy was able to show us several examples of tiles and finished projects that helped illustrate what we were looking for. Very happy with the time she spent with us and the choices we made.
The guys that did the tiling were awesome. Very polite and professional...they helped explain what they were doing all along the way. Never rushing the job, just getting it done right. The finished job speaks volumes for the craftsmanship these guys had during the job. My biggest memory was of one of the guys sitting on the steps outside carefully grinding off the sharp edges from every tile...that is the type of care and thought that craftsman have.
Of course when you work with companies like this the owner does not actually do the tile work, but you trust and assume that they bring people out that are up to their standards. The tile guy that actually did our job was very nice, always on time, and was a hard worker.
When the job was done our first thoughts were and quot;wow this looks really niceand quot;. The next day when the plummer tried to install the sink we ran into our first issue. The tile work on vanity counter top ended up being so uneven that the sink had to be shimmed up 1/4 an inch on one side to stabilize it. The plummer's said that it is very rare for him to see things be this far out of alignment on a new tile job. That night was the first time we started using the bathroom and we noticed that the tile leading out of our bathroom into the hallway slanted up, and was quite unlevel with respect to the rest of the floor. This had two side affects. One was that as you walked over the tile you could feel the tiles slanting up with your feet. Two was that it caused there to be a noticeable rise between the wood floor and the entry way into the bathroom.
When Chris came out to inspect the work I could tell he was not happy about the sink, but we decided not to do anything about it as it would have mean ripping out all the vanity work. He did agree that the floor tiles near the hall were too far out of level and would need to be fixed. There were other small issues too that he said we would address. He ordered some new tile for the fix and his tile guy arrived the day the tile was ready. He tore out the old tiles and re-installed them.
The work was finished right as I was leaving to pick my kids up, so I didn't have a chance to check out the work until later that evening, and to my amazement the tile was re-installed the same way. The tiles had the same uneven slant and were unlevel when compared to the rest of the floor. A very simple check with a level show how much more uneven these tiles are then the rest of the floor. I just don't understand.
We have two other bathrooms that need to be remodeled, and have decided to go with a different tile company for those two bathrooms. At this point we have a little bit of left over tile from the job and are planning to just pay the next contractor to pull out and fix parts of the upstairs bathroom as part of his bid.
"We apologize that the work is not superb. We go to great lengths to do high quality work. We did have some challenges with existing floor levels and out-of-level existing vanity to work with. But, nonetheless we are completely responsible for all of the work we do. When we left, we assumed all the work was to your satisfaction, and I regret not doing a final inspection. I will be contacting you directly to discuss remedy. For the last sixteen years that we have been in business our reputation has been our word and will continue to strive for this goal of the highest quality of installations."
