The work was done on time, well, they were up to date on all of the energy rebates and helped with the paperwork. The work took about a day and they left the area clean.

Crew from BCC came out to complete the removal and then install two new Goodman units. Everything went smoothly and the guys that were at the house were very pleasant and friendly, and showed much patience with our new dog (she barked a lot). They cleaned up after themselves extremely well. We would highly recommend them.

They were very professional on the phone. They tried to figure out the best plan for my situation. I had a difficult job as I have an older home. My electrical was tricky but they stuck with it and finished the job. I appreciate all the help.

This is my second experience with Bruton. They are professional and prompt. I called for a service appointment on Monday and Karen scheduled the next day for 3 to 3:30. No half day wait which is unusual in the service industry. She offered to squeeze in a visit the same day if I truly needed it.
Steve showed up promptly and listened to my summary of what had occurred. He checked out the unit for pressures, load currents, start capacitor health, etc. and determined that the problem I had has not due to the compressor. He installed a hard start accessory to prevent future occurrences. He thought that the unit had 5 - 10 years more life in it which was great news.
I highly recommend Bruton and will use their services in the future.

Gas furnace stopped working on a Friday evening. Went to AngiesList to locate a heating repair company that had 24 hour service. I called Bruton Comfort Control and Brandon the service tech returned my call quickly. I told him what the furnace was doing and he offered some suggestions to try that might save on an emergency call. I thought it best if he made a service visit. He arrived within 1 hour exactly as he said he would. Brandon was very knowledgable and professional. He diagnosed the trouble quickly and effected the repair. We discussed the filtration system and furnace flue as well and he took a photo to share with his boss for a follow-up. He was extremely pleasant to work with and based upon this one experience with Bruton I will recommend them highly for any future HVAC work. I thought the cost for an emergency visit was very reasonable.

About a week before the installation, Matt Bruton (owner) came to our house to give us an estimate on having air conditioning installed. He was very thorough in evaluating the job, taking into account our aged electrical system and other problems with an older house. He sent us a very clear and professional bid/estimate, setting forth what needed to be done. He would be responsible for permits and code compliance.
We accepted the bid and set up the installation date and time. Matt and his crew arrived promptly. A man by the name of Arthur oversaw the job and coordinated with the electrician. Arthur was very pleasant to deal with, hardworking and courteous. He and the crew were very careful with items that had to be moved and cleaned up thoroughly when the all-day job was done. The air conditioner has been working great through our recent hot spell. We are very satisfied with this company's performance.

I spoke with a total of 6 HVAC contractors (one of whom didn't even come out, they just gave me horrible news and prices twice that of my budget, over the phone), and I had an interesting experience with each one. All were informative in one way or another, and in the end I went with the first person I'd met with whom I wanted to do the work - Matt from Bruton Comfort Control.
I learned that 3 of the 5 people who actually came out to my house were salesmen. They'd all done installation in the past and were knowledgeable and gave me a lot of good information, but I also learned that larger companies who have dedicated salespeople also have to pay those salespeople - which means that you and I are paying more for their salaries.
The owners of the 2 smaller companies came out themselves, and there was a subtle but noticeable difference between them and the salesmen. I'm the type who asks a ton of questions, and while the salesmen had a quick answer for everything (some of which didn't hold up under further questioning), the 2 owners didn't and quot;have an answer for everythingand quot;...they looked at different areas for longer, and contemplated, and and quot;hmmmand quot; 'd a lot more. I didn't put all of the pieces together until all was said and done, so I'm writing this here for any other novices out there. I ultimately came to realize that since the 2 owners would be doing the system design and installation themselves, plus the care and feeding of the equipment for it's life, they were actually thinking things through rather than just trying to make a sale.
I learned that contractors are like every other service provider when it comes to your initial contact - it turned out that the person I spoke to on the phone, the first time I called, reflected the overall experience I wound up having with the company. And unfortunately, in most cases, it was negative.
But when I first called Bruton, Karen answered the phone and was not only pleasant, but she gave me a lot of useful insights and information. She had first-hand knowledge of using the mini-split ductless heat pumps, and she stayed on the phone and answered every question I asked her, truthfully. (Every time I've called or emailed with questions or feedback or whatever, I've always been happy with the results - it's a small company, and it's a good company to work with.) We set up an appointment for Matt to come out and give me a bid.
Matt (whom I later learned is the owner) arrived slightly early which was perfectly fine with me, especially since he immediately struck me as a pleasant, polite, and easy-going person. In addition to discussing the heat pump installation, I had some serious gaps in the boots of my vents (the area where the metal of the ductwork meets the floor at the vent opening). The reason I discovered there was a problem is because my dryer duct was leaking and was partially venting right into my living room! Also, the dryer vent was set up in a strange way outside, so I wanted my dryer vented properly, which meant doing something about the 24 ft duct in my crawlspace, as well as something needing to the outside to correct the odd venting. Everything went smoothly during the visit, and Matt said he'd send me a proposal in a few days.
Indeed, within a few days I received the proposal via email. It took me a few months to meet with the other contractors and make my final decision, and in the end I went with my original gut feeling about Matt and called him with a few final questions. In the interim, I'd called and emailed a few times with questions. Karen and/or Michelle were able to answer most of them, and also Matt answered some via phone and email - he always got back to me when I had questions. Imagine that - a contractor who gets back to you in a timely manner, knows his stuff, doesn't lie or BS you, and doesn't cause you grief! I gladly signed the contract, paid my down-payment and we scheduled the work.
During my initial phone conversation with Karen, I'd explained that I have a severe asthmatic in the home, and that was not only my primary reason for wanting the ductless system, but that any activity, let alone work being done on the house, had to make that factor a priority. Also that the asthmatic is very timid and gets frightened easily, and that too much stress can set off a potentially deadly asthma attack, and that his other severe health problems are aggravated by stress as well, so working with restrictions and precautions would be imperative. (Did I mention the asthmatic is my cat?)
Some people pretend to take my (or any) cat's health situation seriously, but they quickly get tired of pretending and if I'm not standing virtually on top of them, they take shortcuts and are, in general, lazy. Seeing as how this attitude could kill my cat in a manner that causes him horrific suffering, anyone I sense would be doing the aforementioned type of lazy and quot;workand quot; wouldn't be allowed to do anything in my home anyway! Although I only have a few rules, I insist that people follow my rules in my home. (For people out there with babies or small children with severe asthma, the needs of an asthmatic cat are the same.)
Installation day arrived! Matt and Arthur arrived right on time, and the first thing Matt asked when I opened the door was if my cats were tucked away safely. Way to respect the customer's needs! (And when someone shows genuine care for animal welfare, they get hefty points in my book.)
They immediately got to work, which took me by surprise - I've never seen people work like this, from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure. The only time either of them stopped moving and working was when I asked a question requiring more than a quick answer, and for lunch. They left the premises for lunch, which was another surprise - it was a professional and courteous act - towards me, and my neighbors.
Matt and Arthur worked hard and worked fast, and they were a great team - each one seemed to know what the other was doing and how long it would take them - it was kind of amazing. They had a great rapport, and they were the perfect team. Any question or small request I had, was addressed immediately and to my satisfaction. I say and quot;small requestand quot;, because there really wasn't much for me to ask for or about, since these two knew what needed to be done. I've never seen such an efficient process, especially done with such positive attitudes.
In my experience there has always - I mean always (come on, you all know what I'm talking about), come a point where workers get tired of 'looking good' - when they stop even pretending to care much about the job. You can tell because they start getting lazy and skipping steps, sighing and shaking their head when you ask a question... and they start complaining. Sometimes it happens shortly after they start the work, sometimes it's not until a few hours before the job is done, but you always have to put up with complaining from these people whom you're paying to do the job! I'm going to start requesting a discount commensurate with the time and discomfort I have to spend listening to workers complain. I hate it...it's The Cringe Time, where you wind up either not asking for what you want, just to avoid the pain, or feeling like you have to be a jerk just to get some minor thing done. This never happened with Matt and Arthur - they were 100% from the first minute through the last.
The installation was finished in one day, and when they were finishing up I had a couple of pieces of furniture to move - Matt told me not to touch them, called Arthur upstairs, and they moved anything I wanted moved, for me. When we went downstairs and into the garage, I was surprised to see Arthur had swept up my entire garage! Also, they didn't fill up my garbage container - in fact, they didn't put so much as one piece of string

At the time when I had the furnace installed, the company that manufactured the furnace was offering a rebate and the state was offering a rebate. There's a local environmental company that was offering a rebate as well. The original price was around $3800 and then I got it down to around $2200 or $2000. I've been very happy with them. In fact, I had them back to service my air conditioner last summer. I was happy with them and I would use them again, no question.

Workman came out promptly, checked out options of why the furnace wouldn't turn on. He found that the motherboard had burned out and had to be replaced. He called around, found a replacement, went out, picked it up and installed it. Even checked to see if it was still under warenty since it was such an expensive part..unfortunately .it was not. Once he had identified the problem and had the part it was a quick install, the furnace turned and and is still working. He was professional, courteous and cleaned up after himself. I will recommend them to others.

It went very well. The technician cleaned the furnace and showed us step by step how we can do part of the maintenance work. He answered all our questions, was professional and very helpful.
