I called American Printer Service Inc. for HP printer service late on 2/18/14 and got a call back on 2/19/14 at 8:30 am. The tech who called is Meil Thomas, a very helpful, nice, easy to talk to guy. After explaining my problem with the auto feed on my printer and after he explained the cost involved, he suggested that I send him a picture of the area in the printer that was broken (part of the auto feed mechanism) which I did via smart phone. Meil called back after about an hour with the information that the needed part was no longer being manufactured. Rats! Now I have two choices: Buy a new printer if auto feed was important to me, or just feed the scanner manually. I'll feed manually until the rest of the printer falls apart.
