We had Above & Beyond re-tile our kitchen, bathroom & laundry room and Tim & his crew were top notch! Can't recommend them enough! Our home is 115 years old so it has its' own set of quirks but Above & Beyond were able to work through these hurdles & complete the job on schedule. Their prices are competitive with other bids that we received - but what really sets them apart is their attention to detail & quality of work. They take pride in what they do & want the homeowner to be happy with the completed job. Would absolutely use them again!

Communication was good, and Tim was very friendly. I enjoyed talking with him. But despite requests for details on exactly how they'd be built and what they'd look like, I was not provided with that information prior to construction beginning. Perhaps I should have insisted or stopped the project at that point. After the initial work was done and I inspected it, it was not of sufficient quality. Again the contractor was accommodating and came back and rebuilt it. But it really wasn't what I wanted at all. Even though I paid, I ended up tearing it all out and doing it myself. Lesson for me is to be more clear and have included in the contract exactly what I expect. But for a contractor who advertises working with the client and putting their needs first, I really didn't feel like we had an agreement on what was going to be done. They did the quickest, cheapest thing possible and it wasn't code compliant nor did it look good.

We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of this project and have already gotten the ball rolling on a remodel of our downstairs bathroom by Above and Beyond Home Improvements.  The tile work is fantastic and the overall feel to the room is exactly what we were looking for.
Tim and Scott were professionals throughout, including keeping patience with us as we changed decisions a few times.  They met with us after-hours and on weekends, gave text/phone updates as needed, and responded to phone or email very quickly.  The project started exactly when they said it would, ended on time, and was drama-free.
The project came within budget, and we were kept informed of next steps or upcoming decisions.  Tim was sensitive to our budget constraints and was great about giving us options to hit our expectations and remain withing our limits.
When challenges came up (thanks to the unique house) the crew from Above and Beyond did just that.... they did what was necessary to get things back on track.  It was also refreshing to see that the far majority of the project was done by Tim and Scott themselves rather than handed off to various subcontractors.
This company gets our highest recommendation!

Tim had done grout repair in our master shower in December 2013 when Paulson's (the original contractor) wouldn't. So I hired him again in 2014 for more basic repairs, and to install a door to the basement. There was just a frame between the main level and the stairs, with a flimsy door at the bottom. The basement isn't heated, so all the cold air came up and wreaked havoc on the utility bills. The pets starting causing damage to the baseboards and carpet in the stairwell, and then our daughter started walking, so we really needed a door. Tim gave us a quote for the door and the other minor work, which we thought was reasonable and we knew from past experience he'd do a good job. He put up a good, solid door with a lock, and was able to match the paint color of the trim perfectly (with a phone app!). You'd never know the door wasn't part of the original house! Now the main levels of the house stay warm, the pets stay out, and the kid won't tumble down accidentally (but she might try it on purpose).

He and his helper took my sink out to tile around it. Instead of unscrewing the pipe, they broke it off. The plumber was able to extract the broken pieces, and replace it still. They also disconnected our electricity to the electric range then when it came time to turn it back on he did not know how. He ended up having to call out an electrician to help reconnect it. They also insisted to work over the weekend. He came back at around 8pm Sunday and finished after midnight. I wanted to inspect the job before I paid them so I did not prepare a check yet. We agreed to meet Monday after the inspection to pay the difference owed. After I looked at the job, and complained, then he began threatening to put a lean on my property, and threatened to come break the work that he started. There were multiple threats. He did bad tile work, and would not replace it correctly. He did a terrible job, and i would not recommend him for anything. The state builders board inspected the job and also said he did a bad job. A civil compromise was reach.

Tim's bid came in as the lowest, but we were familiar and comfortable with the quality of his work for years prior.  The project was
done on time at cost, and we were very pleased with the final result.  The wet bar is beautiful.  Tim's work on tile was outstanding, and his knowledge, patience, and expertise were invaluable during this process.
