Found ABC through a another contractor who recommended them. At first seemed very professional and did a decent job. However, I was told they would use galvanized nails. Instead they used stainless steel staples (according to another contractor I had BID to fix the problem) that have rusted over the winter, leaving rust stains on my fence. In addition, over the winter, probably about 10-15 boards have already broken or warped. I have another section of fence over 10 years old they I've never had those types of issues with.I called ABC (Mark) 2 weeks ago and asked if he would come out and see specifically the nail issue. He came out and before even going into the back yard, basically told me he used galvanized and it was the manufacturers fault they rusted. And I would have to go after them. I told him I would take him to small claims court if he didn't agree to fix it. His response was basically, go ahead people have done that to me before and I won. Not exact words but very close! I of course grew angry and I then mentioned the defective boards. He agree'd to look at those AND replace them. So, why would he do that for the boards but not the staples? I became very angry as he left and told him as a consultant and trusted advisor I would never leave something like this up to my customers. So basically, I paid more for him then other quotes I had received, got cheaper materials, and now I'm left with a sub-standard fence with warped boards (that he did agree to replace but I didn't want him in my yard anymore) and rust stains I have to fix. And the hassle of either small claims court or CCB board complaints, both of which are a royal pain. I would steer anyone away from this company. And in general, if you've read this far, my experience with contractors is that usually if there's a 'sales' guy that comes out to quote the bid, but doesn't do the work, look out. They usually don't have your best interests in mind. Find a contractor that bids and does the work. They will stand behind it stronger then the former.
