From the start to the finish of this 3 1/2 month project, Scott and his crew provided skilled work of high quality, while accommodating our need to keep costs within budget. As we started the project, Scott offered good suggestions on the design of the addition, which was complicated because we wanted to make the construction a seamless addition to our primary house, as well as update our overall heating and cooling system into a zoned system. We moved the construction from November to April because he noted it would save money not constructing in adverse weather. During construction, Scott was always accessible and a good communicator, which I think is essential in a good contractor. He formed a good relationship with the City of Tigard building permit staff and made sure any special requirements were taken care of, such as the need for fireproofing wall material in the joint wall. Matching the design of our primary home roof was a challenge, but the end result looked beautiful. Heartwood Builders saved us money by not requiring fixtures and appliances be purchased through them, but allowing us to find bargain deals on items. In another example, Scott found a semi-retired subcontractor he worked with in the past who did the concrete work for about half the cost of most other concrete businesses. It was really a pleasure working with Scott and his team at Homebuilders. His professionalism and experience showed in every aspect of the project, and we love our new addition!
