William Olsen Designs

William Olsen Designs created a beautiful custom craftsmen oak entertainment center, which was admired and remarked upon by all visitors to our home. He also built two custom mirrors using dovetail joinery. One of the mirrors was a special gift from my husband created from myrtle wood we purchased on a trip to the Oregon coast. Our most recently commission was for a coffee table incorporating a variety of hardwoods in a traditional japanese style. For each of our commissions with William he was professional, personable, timely, and accommodating. He presented us with 3-D renderings of our furniture based on our original visions. Then after further discussions with us, William was able to improve upon our visions based on his expertise. My husband and I were extremely pleased with all of his work, which is why we continue to commission him for speciality furniture for our home. We look forward to working with him to create a bedroom set in the future.

There are several special features in the design of the kitchen that we are finding to be especially functional and useful, including
the use of an ‘optimizer’ instead of ‘lazy Susan’ which is usually installed at a corner where cabinets come together, a maple butcher block cutting-board integrated into the countertop, a system for conveniently handling garbage and recyclables, and the ratio of drawers to cabinets and sizes of each. Mr.Olsen’s design of built-in cookbook shelves combined with a wine rack provides a focal point upon which visitors always favorably comment.
In summary, we commend William Olsen as a consummate professional with a commitment to high quality service and work standards. He is an excellent designer and a true craftsman who takes great pride in his work. Throughout the whole process we found him to be easy to work with and an effective communicator. We highly recommend him without reservation for design, construction and installation of all custom cabinetry.

William was excellent to work with. Being a professional furniture maker at heart, his attention to detail is outstanding and his craftsmanship is second to none. Before any work was started, William met with us several times to collaborate on possible designs and show us samples of his work at previous project sites. He took considerable time to discuss types of woods and cabinet styles until we finalized a design. From cabinet design to layout, through building, finishing and installing the cabinets, William took the care to make sure every item met our needs until the job was successfully completed.
