+ -1 moreAfter several meetings with general contractors, we met Josh Barnes through an acquaintance. Josh immediately impressed us with his people skills, knowledge, and flexibility. Josh is punctual, not only in setting up meetings, but also in project completion deadlines. He is pragmatic, but he also has a good sense of design, making it easy on people who want to save money but are also interested in having a good final product. We were also appreciative that Josh gave it to us straight. If he thought something was a bad idea, he would say so and tell us why. If he didn't know something, he didn't try to pretend he did. He consulted an expert or he went to the City and worked it out with the bureaucrats there and got back to us almost immediately. He is efficient in everything he does, and he also participates in the work, doing framing trim, and whatever other carpentry needs to be done.
Description of Work: He completed a 800 square-foot attic into an apartment in a little over two months while coordinating with us on paint, our own electrician, and our preference in cabinet makers. The end product is remarkable, and we will be able to rent it immediately. We would highly recommend him for anyone who is looking for a remodel or for building out unused space.
