Daniel worked with us to get us on the schedule and arrange timing to meet our needs. He came to the home again with Mauricio (his business partner and project manager) to clearly review all of our expectations and needs and to confirm their timeline for work and completion of the project. Mauricio was very specific and ultimately kept his schedule and his word on all aspects of the job. Their pricing was in line with other bids we received and the quality of all of the work they completed was Outstanding/Professional/of the Highest Quality.
Mauricio supervised his team well, began many of the work days with them (showing them exactly what was to be done and how), the workers/painters/artists were Excellent, Diligent, Trustworthy, Self-motivated and arrived early (often by 7am) each day and worked until well after 5pm most days. They cleaned up at the end of each day and respected the house and our newly refinished floors.
It was a pleasure working with Mauricio and his Team. They did an Outstanding Job, and we have more work for them as other parts of the home renovations are being completed and ready for painting.
This was one of the best customer service experiences of some rather extensive renovations of our home. Daniel, Mauricio and his Team set the bar high for other contractors; they really care about their work, have Great work ethic and keep to their timelines and to their word.
We really "scored" when we found Summit Painting.
He was successful in scheduling the painting to be done the week before she moved in. It took them two days - they arrived exactly when they said they would and the crew boss even helped me pick between a few choices for accent walls. When I came back the evening it was finished the apartment was spotless except for the perfectly painted walls. It looks amazing and was such a load off my mind to have that done before she moved in. The quality was outstanding too, and I appreciated that he recommended Miller Paint (local favorite brand) and the AccuPure line which is a bit better on emissions and the environment. I would definitely use Summit again or recommend them. Great price and customer service. I wouldn't promise that they could always make schedule accommodations, but I bet Daniel would always do his best to meet the customer's needs. I still would have used them even if I had to wait a few months.
Summit Painting, owned by Danny Bailo is fabulous! We have worked with Danny Bailo for many years. He and his company are professional, timely, reliable, high quality, and provide great customer service. Summit repainted our original peeling and worn gutters, they still look great! They repainted the exterior of our house working patiently with us as we worked with our HOA. They were neat, paint was even - no spills, splatter, missed spots, etc. Left the job site, clean and picked up. Danny has an aesthetic ability, thus was able to help us choose paint color, as well. We still receive compliments on our house color and paint job! Summit also, among other jobs, most recently painted our interior bathrooms. Mauricio was wonderful to work with because it was very important to me to have neat, clean lines along the ceilings, counters, and baseboards with no color bleed over. They were amazing!! Their paint job looks like we have brand new bathrooms! Next, we are planning on having Summit place our Christmas lights and clean the gutters at the same time. Thank you Danny and Summit!!!
A different crew came out to pressure wash and clean/brighten the deck (mahogany 5/4 x 6" planks and 1" x 12 " facia boards). Several days later after the deck had dried they came back to sand and stain the deck. This is where a problem began to show itself, there were light and dark areas before the stain was applied which afterwards it looked fine but several days later, turned into yellow areas that appeared to be "bleached" out.
I contacted the company owner Daniel and he responded immediately to see what was the cause of the "yellowing". Upon inspection he told me that he had never seen this before and wanted to check with his chemical suppliers for help. He took the time to schedule 3 different deck coating representatives to get their take on what caused this to happen and as it turned out, the stain that I had been using was from a different manufacturer than the brightener they used and a chemical reaction occurred causing the change in color. (I had been using a natural clear stain which allowed the red color of the wood show)
Daniel obtained the cleaning/brightener from the same company as the stain we had used and retreated the deck, sanded and applied a new stain (this time I went with a tinted stain to help bring back the color as the deck is 18 years old). The deck turned out looking good and there were no areas of yellowing. I was very pleased with the way that this issue was addressed and will use Summit again in the future.
"Thank you for the review! It was a pleasure working with you again! Let us know when you are ready to finish the rest of the interior. :-)"
"I am very sorry that you did not have the experience our customers have come to expect when working with our company. We try to do everything possible to provide a good experience for our customers. When the original proposal was submitted to you, we had tested the paint on your home for lead. The tests that we did came back negative. Unfortunately, different areas of the wall actually DID contain lead paint, whereas the areas tested during the initial consultation did not. Unfortunately, the law requires that we follow "lead safe" procedures when lead paint is being removed from the home. I halted the project for liability reasons once we discovered that there was more lead present than originally anticipated. Ultimately, I asked for a small amount of additional monies to cover extra costs (about 10% of the entire project) to follow lead procedures. I'm sorry if this did not come off as I had intended, but in all truth and honesty, this additional up-charge would only cover some of the additional costs. Lead renovation projects are extremely labor intensive and several additional regulations and worker safety specifications need to be followed in order to abide by the law. I'm really sorry that you were not happy with the final bill once you decided to cancel the contract. I only billed you for the exact number of hours my employees worked on your project (at their hourly rate). I didn't charge you anything for my companies assets, insurance, licensing, taxes, fuel or any of the other costs associated with doing business. I know you wanted a smaller bill, but I have already taken a loss on your project by asking you to only pay my employees take home wages. Lastly, dear Angie's List member, you signed up with our company for exterior painting in January. The primary reason for project delays were weather related. I hope you do have this project completed this summer and the experience with your next contractor goes well. I do appreciate your feedback and hope that in the future I am better able to handle situations like this and make each and every one of our customers happy to work with us. Warm Regards, Daniel Bailo President & Owner - Summit Painting"
1) Full exterior house painting - The team was great. They were responsive, did a very thorough job, including extensive caulking and repainting of the home. They followed our instructions closely and the house turned out great. They are a bit more expensive than some contractors, but they are well worth the money.
2) Interior painting. We had them paint the ceiling of a small powder room as well as a half wall in our main living space. They did a great job, were very detail oriented, arrived as scheduled and finished as planned. Timing was important as we had wallpaper going up and carpet going down a couple days following the designated date for painting. They did a great job.
I'd recommend them and would use them again for any painting project.
"Thank you for the review! I'm glad I was able to earn your business. Please let me know if you have any further issues with your caulking around the windows and doors. I hope it finally stopped developing those air pockets beneath the bead. Thanks again!"
