Richard is very conscientious & professional. He goes the extra mile to figure out the best way to accomplish the job & is very knowledgeable. If any issues were discovered during the project, Richard was able to advise us on the best way to proceed. He goes out of his way to make sure the area is safe for pets & kids. Very competent & trustworthy! He will be our first choice for any future projects we have.

I can recommend Richard as a highly effective handyman, but he was able to do so much more than the basic handyman tasks we originally planned to have him work on. From framing, to tiling, to flooring and windows, Richard is skilled and efficient. He was always punctual and at the ready to give cost savings tips. As a fastidious homeowner, I was especially pleased with how he kept the place clean and left it tidied up each night as ours was an extended in-depth project. We will definitely be hiring Richard again for our next job.

Richard did a great job repairing a broken kitchen drawer, and some exterior dry rot. He called back quickly, had excellent communication throughout, and did an excellent job with every project. I would highly recommend him!

I hired Richard to re-attach a peninsula-style kitchen cabinet that was pulling away from the ceiling at it's far end. He arrived on time and inspected the cabinet and the attic crawlspace. Upon determining the cause, he provided several repair options. We agreed on one and he proceeded to fix the cabinet, completing the work inside 1-1/2 hrs. It looked GOOD AS NEW. His labor cost was only $175, far less than the hundreds of dollars I was expecting to pay a contractor. If I could give Rich 6 stars I would have. I'm compiling a list for future projects.

I found Richard Binford here on Home Advisor and was impressed by the number of outstanding reviews of his work. Richard certainly lived up to the expectations! I hired him to trim the edge of a countertop to accommodate the width of a new refrigerator. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. Richard provides quality work at a very fair price. As a bonus, he's a really nice guy. I will certainly hire him for future projects and will not hesitate for a second before recommending him to my friends.

We are EXTREMELY pleased with the work Richard did for us in our home. His high rating is well earned. Richard can do IT ALL. Richard (1) replaced a water damaged post on our deck, (2) installed a new light and switch in our master bathroom shower, (3) installed beautiful crown molding on our entire first floor, (4) installed LVT in our two second floor bathrooms and laundry room, (5) painted our entire first floor ceiling, (6) repaired a leaking sink in our kitchen, (7) installed and painted CUSTOM molding in our tray ceiling, (8) installed a beautiful ceiling fan in our master bedroom, (9) adjusted the room and closet doors heights after our new carpet was installed, (10) did ALL of this in one week while we were on vacation! He is VERY knowledgeable, very easy to work with and our project came in on time and on budget. We are talking with Richard to do additional work in our home. I can strongly recommend Richard Binford for repairs or upgrades to your home. I feel we have found not only a great contractor in him, but we feel that we have gained a friend. Very nice man. Very good work. He explained why the toilet was leaking, told me how he was going to fix it, bought special glue for the flooring. Hardly heard the work going on (but it was) and he cleaned it all up wonderfully. (I'm a hard grader, that is why it's not perfect 5 stars.)

I would highly recommend Richard. We had some unusual, somewhat difficult jobs and he was very helpful, gave us good options, and did great work, all with a smile.

Richard did a variety of projects for me on my late husband's home in Hillsboro, to ready the house for sale. He installed flooring in the utility room, kitchen and bath; new countertops and backsplash in the Kitchen and bath, put in a new light fixture in the dining room, painted the entire interior of the house, and installed a new tile surround in the bathtub area. He also cleaned and refurbished the cabinets, replaced an interior door and repaired a broken closet door, installed new window blinds, new sinks, and new faucets, as well as other other small repairs. All the work was done carefully and professionally and greatly improved the appearance of the house, so that it sold one day after it was listed, for well over the asking price. Richard also helped clear the house after the estate sale, without charging for this extra effort, and took extra steps all along the way to accommodate my situation, since I was living in Eugene and could not readily get to Hillsboro during the week to take care of things for myself. What I appreciated most was that Richard always did what he said he would do when he said he would do it. He showed up on time, did the work on schedule, and completed the job in the timeframe we had agreed to. This may sound like a given, but I have dealt with many contractors in my 45 years as a property owner and landlord and this level of dependability and responsibility is actually quite rare. He made an extremely stressful time in my life much more manageable, and I highly recommend him.

I would highly recommend Richard to anyone who is seeking services from a "general contractor". He is professional, prompt, very customer oriented and a very competent contractor. I plan to use Richard in the future for various projects in my home. He went the extra mile not only with the initial project, but also assisted me in moving some very large pieces of furniture! Installer for granite counter-tops found that cabinets were not level and would not create a template. Richard rearranged his schedule with other customers to level my cabinet tops; saving me weeks of "NO" water in the kitchen! Granite installers were really impressed with his work. We also had an issue with the window and Richard went to Home Depot to ensure we had the correct measurements for the granite template. Outstanding service with the highest quality!!!

Richard put us at ease from the word "go." He helped us finish a rather large project on a time crunch so that we could close on our house. He was prompt and courteous and we wouldn't hesitate to hire him again or refer him to anyone that would be in need of his services.
