He's very reliable and did a very good work. You can just bring your machine as soon as you can and they always meet their dates.

When I took my 6 year old Hoover Steam Vac in on a Friday, I was uncomfortable for 2 reasons. The store was uncomfortably warm and I was behind an older woman who'd brought in her expensive sewing machine. She was being given a hard sell by someone who was not a repair person. Part of the sell was that Rich's has a repair department somewhere else - so that the "repairmen won't have to use time talking to customers". The woman was talked into leaving her machine and buying a cleaning process - it sounded like her bill for cleaning was going to be over $200. When it was my turn, I should have listened to instinct but explained that my SteamVac was leaking at the hose connection. The person writing up the ticket did not write that down, and tried to tell me it was probably the holding tank (an expensive part). I had duct taped the connection and was fairly certain that was the problem because as long as the tape held, I had no leak. She didn't listen. I was promised a free estimate (on the bench) by Tuesday. Tuesday I got a call late in the day saying that it was going to be an expensive part - no part was named, no amount given in the phone message. When I called back on Wed 2/26 and spoke with Brad - he was very clear, that yes, I was right, it was the hose connection, however he had to replace the entire hose assembly: $82 for the part, and his labor would be $109.00. He agreed that this was problematic as new machines could be bought for that price. I arranged to pick up the machine. He did not mention that there would be a charge for his estimate. Upshot - be very very careful with these people. And be prepared to spend way too much. The days of the corner repair shop seem to be in danger of passing.

She likes them because they do a good job. They also do a good estimate on when the machine will be available.
