We have a very large yard, and hired a landscaper to spread the mulch. The Bark Place gave us the contractor's price for the mulch when we told them the volume that we needed and that the landscaper would be spreading it. We started by ordering 50 yards (we weren't sure how much we would need) and later ordered another 25 yards. At the last minute, we had to change the delivery date of our first order because the landscaper wanted to start the job earlier than he had initially scheduled. The Bark Place graciously agreed, delivered the bark on time as promised, and dumped the loads in two different places on the property as requested. We requested a two-day delivery for the second order, which again they were able to accomodate. The quality of the product was very good. They were not the cheapest bid that we received, but we appreciated their willingness to accomodate our needs, and our landscaper indicated that he had good experience with the quality of their product.

I called the Bark Place and talked to the manager giving him the details about my needs as I had a lot of muddy areas around the farm. He suggested the cedar hog fuel.
After considering I called back and ordered. He estimated delivery within a few hours.
The truck showed up (without calling me as promised) so I had to rush to finish pumping diesel into the tractor. I asked the driver to get out and check out the place I wanted the load dropped. He checked it out and then I went back to filling the tractor and he backed in and started to dump. When he tried to drive out from under the load to spread it out the truck didn't move, he was stuck.
I worked furiously digging out his wheels and putting cedar under them but no go. The driver then got out of the truck and said I needed to call a tow truck and pay to get him out. I said no way, it was his call to go ahead and drive back there. Then he tried to get me to sign a waver stating that I accept all responsibility for the truck and damage and I said no. The driver said at least sign the credit card receipt as I did get the product that I ordered. When I signed the little flimsy cc receipt he then pointed out how my signature transposed onto the damage waver (upsidedown) and so now I was liable. WOW!
I got furious but just wanted to be done with this so I proposed that we split the bill in half. The tow company quoted $400 minimum so I pay $200.
If I had been told in advance that I would be liable for anything happening to the truck, I would not have let the driver dump where he did, even if he thought he could do it without a problem.
Bottom line - just know that when you order something from here you WILL be liable for all costs if they get stuck so don't leave it up to them to determine whether or not it is safe.
