Albany Stove removed an old, nonfunctional wood stove from my house. I had asked them to sweep the vent to the roof first so minimal products of combustion would be left. They did everything needed promptly and well. The crew was very respectful of the house and used many large drop cloths and a shop vac to keep as much dust as possible out of the house as they removed the venting to the ceiling, then capped off the roof vent at top and bottom. I felt their price was also reasonable.

Very proud professional and friendly. The wood stove has never been so clean right down to the glass door.

Arrived on time and did work, followed up with report, no problems. Service people were polite and professional.

Josh from Albany Stoves came early and was very professional, polite and personable, just the sort of person you feel comfortable allowing into your home. He inspected two fireplaces/chimneys that had not been in use for many years. When he discovered they were both clean and in excellent condition he gave me the option of saving nearly two hundred dollars by sweeping out the fireboxes myself (there was almost no debris from the slow and careful sweeps he gave the chimneys). He took the time to show me where the damper hinges were and gave suggestions as well as a catalog for what kind of fireplace doors to put in the one fireplace without them.

A very nice young man showed up on time and cleaned my chimney. I had a lot of questions and he answered all of them. Even let me watch so I could learn how to do it myself next time.

They were punctual and they showed up when they were supposed to. The first time they came was just to service the stove. It had never been serviced and I have lived here for five years. So I wanted them to come out, clean it, oil it, clean the chimney or whatever they do and get it ready for the upcoming winter. After they did that it did not work properly so I called them back. They came back the second time and they said that I needed a motor so I had them put in the motor in. That was in summer time and I figured that I called them off season. They put the motor in and it still does not work properly. Then they told me that it would need a $400 cricket board. I have not called them back yet. I am not saying that they did anything wrong, I am just saying that it worked fine before they serviced it and I don't know if it is just coincidence that it crapped out after they worked on it. It could be. I have worked in the automotive field before and I have realized that sometimes you work on somebody's radiator and their breaks go out and they blame you but you had nothing to do with their brakes. So I am thinking about looking for another stove place on Angies List besides them. I have also thought about giving them one more chance to come out and replace that board and try to get this thing working. Overall they did almost everything right. They showed when they were supposed to, they were courteous and nice. It is just that the work did not result in what I thought it should result in. Since I cannot prove it I don't want to nail them. The price was reasonable and fair. They did it in the summer so I did not really need it again but in the winter time I tried to light it and it filled the inside of my house with smoke and it was not good. They are professional. When I called them the first time and told them that they had serviced my stove and it is now not working right I guess it was somebody's wife who answered the phone and she got a little irate with me. So I don't know exactly what is going on there but that was a little bit unprofessional.
