In my opinion, Ideal (Michael) is a highly ethical business. Twice now, he has debunked information received from less ethical entities. In a pinch, he helped me get the part I needed to get my heating system back in operation. In today's world, there are so many providers that seem to be intent on using the consumer's lack of knowledge to take advantage of them financially. Ideal (and Michael) seem to be the exception to that rule. My first call will be to Ideal with my Heat and Air needs. I don't make recommendations like this lightly and if my opinion changes I'll be back to retract. In the meantime, call Ideal with confidence and know you're getting the straight story.

Landlord called this company out. Too supposedly clean air ducts. Return air duct was vacuumed out to cosmetically cover the underlined issue. Was told that they would come back out to replace the return duct and vacuum the floor ducts. That never happened. Went back and forth with the company and landlord and still nothing after 1 1/2 months. Then got threatening phone calls from the owner for bad reviews. Very unprofessional.

AC stopped working at the beginning of the season.  Contacted Interstate and they said the AC unit was dead and needed to be replaced, also recommended furnace be replaced total would be $12,000.00.  Someone recommended Mike from Ideal Heating and for ~ $300.00 he fixed the problem.  I didn't realize he was on Angies list or I would have wrote this review then.  He did a great job, very honest haven't had a problem in a year and a half. 

The other part of the story, my heat went out in March 2015, I have made several attempts at contact Ideal Heating, leaving messages and call back number, and he is not returning my calls.  I would use him again but he is not reliable, does great work, very knowledgeable, and honest; but when it was cold and my heat went out didn't return calls.  Fortunately I found the fix on the internet, and fixed it for $0

Mike had done work on another house that we purchased last year.  Mike and Mike  did an awesome job, he and Mike were very professional, they completed the work in less than 2 days.  Completely professional and the work was inspected by the City and the work was top notch and reasonable.  Mike usually puts in American Standard but does not push American Standard.  The system he put in for me has worked flawlessly for the past 2 weeks, we have use both the heat and the air conditioning.
Mike answered all my texts before the installation and even during the installation, Mike and Mike went above and beyond what was expected and at a very competitive price.  Quality of workmanship at this good price are hard to find,
I had another estimate from an Angie's list preferred provider and it was 5,000 dollars more.  I opted not to go with them.

During the evening of July 25th we heard a loud noise from the blower of our air conditioner.  We turned off the unit and then turned it back on.  This made the noise disappear.  The next morning I called Mike Penland, Owner of Ideal Heat and Air.  He came out promptly, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly and our air conditioner has worked great since then.
 
We have used Ideal Heat and Air since 1997, when he replaced our old air conditioner.  Ideal Heat and Air is trully "Ideal"!  Mike Penland responds promptly to our calls, thoroughly understands heating and air units, works very quickly and charges very reasonable prices.  I usually pay him more  then he asks because he is such a remarkable service man!
I must admit that we have not always had the yearly service to our unit and the last few years we have had some minor problems but Mike has been able to readily make the necessary repairs.

I could not be happier or more satisfied with the service preformed. Mike was extremely polite, efficient and thorough.

He installed an air conditioner years ago. Any time I have needed him, I have been able to get a hold of him. He comes out promptly. He is very, very professional. We are amazed at how thorough he is. He knows exactly what he's doing. He works well in horrible conditions. He just does a great job. He isn't the type of person who asks you to get a whole new air conditioner. He fixes whatever needs to be repaired, and then everything works just perfectly.

Mike Penland came out promptly. He replaced a motor, switch and cleaned indoor coil. He worked efficiently and thoroughly examined heater. We have used him previously and have always been very pleased with his services.
