Our work was done by Dustin and his brother. They were both very nice young men. They were very professional and I had no problem leaving them alone in my home to work. Very trustworthy individuals. They did an excellent job and did it in a timely manner. I am completely satisfied with the work they did and would use them again personally and recommend them to anyone needing their services.

It was all going very well until I was leaving town and decided to pay them the last $1000 before the punch list was finished.  I wrote Dustin the check on 3/5/13 and today is 7/27/13 and the work was never finished.
I have my text messages from Dustin and his brother Shane (who works with Dustin) promising to go back into the house and finish.  I will continue to keep the texts to show  if they deny my side of the story is correct.  Multiple times they said they would be back to finish yet never showed up.
The punch list had several things for them to do but mainly was to finish fixing cracks in the ceilings.
I also gave Shane my old flooring for his use and  was to be paid back by doing more work in the house.  I was going to have them refinish walls in another room, install can lights throughout the house and build some bookcases.
The work that Shane did on the floor was good quality - much better than Dustin.  Shane actually went back over some of the flooring Dustin installed and made it look good.
At the end of February I gave them a set of keys to my house to be able to enter at anytime as I am gone from OKC often. I didn't get them back until I texted them on 7/24/13 demanding they at least return the keys by the time I return to OKC on Friday.
So, overall the work Shane did was good quality but they refused to finish the job, never paid me for the flooring I gave them that was to be used to pay for work to be done later.
Response from Dustin Ritter Construction
"Wow! All I can say is I wasn't aware [member name removed] was so unhappy. The items I contracted were completed to my knowledge or he wouldn't have paid me in full. The "punch list" was apparently items that he had negotiated with Shane. If [member name removed] had included me in this side agreement I would have had a little more leverage or control of the items that he had agreed to with Shane. Their secondary agreement was without my knowledge and my consent therefore not my responsibility to enforce. As far as his personal attack on the tile that I actually laid, I believe he's confused. The only tile that I actually laid were ones that I didn't feel were acceptable quality and needed to be redone. I feel that this was a passive aggressive attempt at [member name removed] expressing his anger for me not enforcing the side deal he made with Shane. A deal that was his attempt at bartering to avoid paying for additional work he wanted performed. I apologized, offered to complete the items myself, for a cost, and requested he not slander me for a side deal gone wrong. This was his response. Since I began my business, I have had more referrals than I can count by happy and satisfied customers. I've never had to advertise or promote my business to have work. I say this in all humility. I am blessed. I have worked for incredible people and they have been very pleased. Obviously you can't please everyone. I completely agree. However, I disagree with the way this was handled. I appreciate the fact that Angie's list allows for a response. I'm sorry that I didn't realize it sooner. Since this review/complaint. I have added several new people to my team and have had great feedback and success. I can see where we've grown and where we need improvement. We will continue the work to be a company or character, integrity, and that focuses on our customers satisfaction. Thank you Dustin Ritter"
