He looked at the pig and explained that there was a hole in the abdomenal wall that would need surgery to repair. He also told us that pigs were not the best candidates for being knocked out. We decided to go ahead with the surgery. The pig was in and out in about 2 hours. Everything went just as he explained and there were no problems.

We have used the services of Dr. Hilbert for some of our livestock needs. Most recently we needed a cosmetic dehorn on one of our kids livestock projects. My daughter went to the clinic with me. As soon as we got there Dr. Hilbert's receptionist greeted us and let the doctor know we were there. In just a few minutes the doctor came out and looked at our animal. He determined that it would be best to sedate the animal and perform the surgery. He invited my daughter and myself in for the surgery and explained everything he was doing for my daughter's benefit. Not only was he very skilled at the surgery, he also provided a lot of educational information. Later in the day his recepionist called to check on the animal. I feel he gives not only attention to his animal patients, but address the concerns of his clients.
