On 7/22/13, my husband and I met with Chaz (Christian Winingar) from
Winingar Design to discuss a cabinet/work desk. We showed him a drawing of what
we wanted; he took some notes of what we actually wanted in comparison to what
we had drawn ourselves in regards to
actual size/measurements. We gave Chaz a deposit check for $500.00 and he
said that he could have it done in a week to a week and a half. We had set a
time to have it installed but that seem to never happen, he pushed us back a
couple of times. After a couple more weeks had gone by he finally came to
install the cabinet, which was not what we had asked for and the quality was
not what we had expected from a professional.
In fact he damaged the cabinet during transport. We
gave him hardware that we had purchased ourselves and told him that we did not
want to rush him so we let him have more time and told him to call us.
He said that he would redo it and could install it right away
even offered to do it Saturday 8/25/13, we agreed on a Saturday install but on
Friday we called him to make sure it was completed. When he said that it was NOT
but he could have it done.
During the whole process we had to call him over and over,
he would not return phone calls or pick up when we called. When we finally did
talk to him he would make excuses. Finally he said the he would be able to
install the cabinet on 9/6/13 at 3:00 pm. Then on that day he called us a
couple of hours before and said that he wasn’t going to make it and that he had
wanted to rescheduled us in for Tuesday. I told him that it was ridiculous and
that we had been waiting for weeks and that I just wanted my money back. He
then said well “let me call you back in a half hour”, which we he never did. So
that day and the next we called and left messages requesting our money
back. That Monday he said that he would
only give us part of the money back because he had ordered glass for the tops
which I do not believe to be the truth because we had contacted the glass company
and they claimed that there was no order placed. (We only received a call from
Chaz after we had contacted the glass company) He did say that he would give us
the glass. (So what do we do?) He said he would meet us Tuesday, 9/10/13 to
give us a check and our hardware. Tuesday came and we didn’t hear from the guy
so again we called and called.
Now it is 9/16/13 and we met with Chaz this morning and he
gave us a check but only for part of our deposit and did NOT have any glass to
give us. We went to the bank to cash the
check and they told us that it would not clear at this time. As of now we have
no cabinet and we did NOT get our money back.
