I've been extremely pleased with Dr. Noland and the practice. She is friendly and pleasant and makes you feel more comfortable in what can be an uncomfortable setting. She referred me to a specialist, and I have had follow-up appointments with her as well. She provided great, thorough care and was very knowledgable. I haven't needed to use her
For obstetrics yet, but I plan to do so.

I waited a while to be seen which is typical for his office. He clearly keeps his clientel and has many patents so I don't mind as long as it ends in getting to see Dr. Nilson. He is funny and light and just plain knows his stuff. He explains issues clearly without being condescending or insulting (see my review for Dr. Frost in the Warren building). Dr. Nilson is very thorough. A couple years ago due to his protocols, he caught an issue that was ignored by 5 other doctors for over 10 years just before it became cancerous and personally took care of it - I didn't have to go to another office or see a surgeon. So far everything has come back normal since then, 2 years and one child later.

Dr. Nilson is a superb doctor.  I was diagnosed quickly and given an immediate treatment. He was careful to explain all the details to me when I asked, and I did not feel overlooked or like "just a number". With that said, you need to be proactive when asking questions, as he is very busy and doesn't always offer up information you may want to know unless you ask him.
     Some may find his bedside manner to be abrasive/off-color/or sarcastic. He's a gynecologist for goodness sake. One HAS to have a sense of humor in that field. I found him to be hilarious, actually. If you are incredibly conservative or prudish (for lack of a better term), you will not like his comments. 
     Above all, he knows what he's doing. I feel safe knowing he's my doctor. He is very up-front with his patients and tells it like it is. Great sense of humor. I would recommend him HIGHLY to anyone. I got pregnant 8 months after starting monthly treatments.
He is not known for being on time. Be prepared for that. I've had no problems with billing, or with his staff. All are very personable and caring.

I love that his practice does ultrasounds on every visit, and that they will save the pictures to a flash drive so that you have an electronic copy of your baby's images.  Dr. Nilson is friendly and always seems to be in a good mood.  His nurse, Stevie, is amazing!  Very friendly, helpful, and full of information.  I don't often see her on my visits, however.
You must be prepared for a brash bedside manner.  Dr. Nilson is very sarcastic and has an off sense of humor.  However, he is knowledgeable and if you need a detailed explanation on something he will give it to you.
Wait times in his office are incredibly long.  On my first visit I waited over an hour just to go back to the examination room, and then continued to wait another 15 minutes once in the room.  It is very common that wait times are close to 45 minutes to be seen. For a 5 minute appointment, that seems excessive.

I absolutely love Dr. Hoover and any woman of any age will love her and her office. Everyone was so nice and she was so gentle. I told her about a bad experience I had that kept me from another pelvic for about 8 years. With her she explained what she was doing as she did it and I never felt any discomfort at all. She is a very nice woman, I really can't say enough about her.

He is great.

Dr Nilson runs an assembly line of patients. He spends only a few minutes with each patient and overbooks his time. His concern is billing insurance and moving on to the next patient. His customer service is substantially lacking.

Only redeeming quality is ultrasound during most visits.

Dr Nilson has been my OB for nearly 16 years. He has been through the good, the bad and the ugly with me (please pardon the cliche). He helped us find the specialists we needed, was always available and even called me on his cell during a golf tournament once when I was having issues. He DOES run late most of the time, but it seems to me that he is doing his best to help every woman who comes to him, and I don't mind. I truly do not believe we would ever have had children without his help and guidance. He is incredibly knowledgable (sp?), thorough, and yet does not push treatments that are not necessary or wanted. I would never go anywhere else!
